Kidnostad-

I think we're all damned tired of Islamic religious oversensitivities, after nearly two decades of it. Who really cares anymore what they want or how they and their demands are to be understood. I am as sick of their neediness as you.

However, I don't need idiot Donald Trump to annunciate that exasperation for me. Maybe the redneck voter in Iowa did.

Documenting part of the long history of American Conservative Active Measures and Propaganda

Language: A Key Mechanism of Control
By Newt Gingrich, 1995

http://users.wfu.edu/zulick/454/gopac.html

[This document, a working paper from GOPAC, Newt Gingrich's political action committee, was circulated to freshman Republican members of the 104th Congress in 1995. It functions as a rudimentary rhetorical handbook, providing inexperienced political speakers with a lexicon of terms that drive a wedge of distinctions between themselves and members of the opposing party. At the same time it educates them in a common language that will give evidence of their solidarity with the Speaker of the House and his goals for the Republican majority.]

1) As you know, one of the key points in the GOPAC tapes is that "language matters." In the video "We are a Majority," Language is listed as a key mechanism of control used by a majority party, along with Agenda, Rules, Attitude and Learning. As the tapes have been used at intraining sessions across the country and mailed to candidates we have heard a plaintive plea: "I wish I could speak like Newt."

2) That takes years of practice. But, we believe that you could have a significant impact on your campaign and the way you communicate if we help a little. That is why we have created this list of words and phrases.

3) This list is prepared so that you might have a directory of words to use in writing literature and mail, in preparing speeches, and in producing electronic media. The words and phrases are powerful. Read them. Memorize as many as possible. And remember that like any tool, these words will not help if they are not used.

4) While the list could be the size of the latest "College Edition" dictionary, we have attempted to keep it small enough to be readily useful yet large enough to be broadly functional. The list is divided into two sections: Optimistic Postive Governing words and phrases to help describe your vision for the future of your community (your message) and Contrasting words to help you clearly define the policies and record of your opponent and the Democratic party.

5) Please let us know if you have any other suggestions or additions. We would also like to know how you use the list. Call us at GOPAC or write with your suggestions and comments. We may include them in the next tape mailing so that others can benefit from your knowledge and experience.

Optimistic Positive Governing Words

6.1)Use the list below to help define your campaign and your vision of public service. These words can help give extra power to your message. In addition, these words help develop the postive side of the contrast you should create with your opponent, giving your community something to vote for!:

share, change, opportunity, legacy, challenge, control, truth, moral, courage, reform, prosperity, crusade, movement, children, family, debate, compete, active(ly), we/us/our, candid(ly), humane, pristine, provide, liberty, commitment, principle(d), unique, duty, precious, premise, care(ing), tough, listen, learn, help, lead, vision, success, empower(ment), citizen, activist, mobilize, conflict, light, dream, freedom, peace, rights, pioneer, proud/pride, building, preserve, pro-(issue): flag, children, environment; reform, workfare, eliminate good-time in prison, strength, choice/choose, fair, protect, confident, incentive, hard work, initiative, common sense, passionate

Contrasting Words

7.1) Often we search hard for words to define our opponents. Sometimes we are hesitant to use contrast. Remember that creating a difference helps you. These are powerful words that can create a clear and easily understood contrast. Apply these to the opponent, their record, proposals and their party.:

decay, failure (fail) collapse(ing) deeper, crisis, urgent(cy), destructive, destroy, sick, pathetic, lie, liberal, they/them, unionized bureaucracy, "compassion" is not enough, betray, consequences, limit(s), shallow, traitors, sensationalists, endanger, coercion, hypocricy, radical, threaten, devour, waste, corruption, incompetent, permissive attitude, destructive, impose, self-serving, greed, ideological, insecure, anti-(issue): flag, family, child, jobs; pessimistic, excuses, intolerant, stagnation, welfare, corrupt, selfish, insensitive, status quo, mandate(s) taxes, spend (ing) shame, disgrace, punish (poor...) bizarre, cynicism, cheat, steal, abuse of power, machine, bosses, obsolete, criminal rights, red tape, patronage.

Hysterical tabloid pablum. The post-war Socialist government in Britain got a few things done, and we kept the number of gulags to a minimum. The left-wing governments in Scandinavia are not notably tyrannical. The governments of France tend to be broadly Socialist because they remember what life was like in the ancien regime when there was nobody to give them a voice. You take the worst excesses of the left and present them as the rule when there is a spectrum like everything else. You are basically a conspiracy theorist, in your own way.

The Ancien Regime?  Is that the example you want to use?

The French Revolution quickly became the Reign of Terror.  Whole classes of society were murdered, including peasants and farmers.  Anyone who didn't go along was killed.  ''Those who accuse us are they themselves accused'', said Robespierre.  So not exactly giving voice to the people.  After that came Napoleon to restore order, then they were stuck with him.

The ideas of Karl Marx had their origins in the Reign of Terror, and followers such as the Bolsheviks, Mao, Pol Pot, etc followed their example of mass murder, denouncing ''counterrevolutionaries'' and other ''enemies of the state''.

The governments you mentioned meant well, its up to the people there to decide whether those were beneficial policies.  Here, circa 2017, our ''Progressives'' do not mean well, do not present beneficial or welcome policies, and are eroding our self governing democracy with the goal of destroying it.

Fairness?!

Here's the thing. We're not playing your bullshit. We flatly reject your underlying premiss that there is something/anything "Normal" about Trump, his cabinet, his policies, or even the current GOP party as a whole. We will extend or grant none, zero, of the "normal" responses, basic assumptions,  courtesies, niceties, allowances, benefits-of-doubt, either to him, his party, or to any of you who continue to support him. Such "common" things do-not and never will apply to Trump nor anything in his sphere. It was you-all who chose to rend, to shred, the fabric of the nation and of all decency itself. You call that "winning" if you like but don't expect "normal" in return. You have forfeited all claims, all toleration or leniency. You have crossed the line, then again, and once more. We're done with you.

What the fuck are you talking about?  Seriously.

Forget Trump the person, his ego, his personality, his annoying habits, the contradictions and dumb things he says without thinking.  No one is happy about any of that.  What are his top 5 or 10 actual policies or actions taken that you believe justifies this line of thinking?

Because this looks to me like more of the same contentless garbage from those who are upset they lost, and are willing to go far beyond ''dissent'' and are trying to justify any means to overturn an election - without any real rationale to do so.

PS, if you want an example of people we as a society should no longer tolerate, its the people putting out the lies, the smears, the hate and attacks, as well as those taking to the streets in violent ''protests''.

PPS, this is a perfect example of why idiots like Kathy Griffin and the fools putting on the play in Central Park should be prosecuted.  They help create an inflammatory environment for unhinged extremists like Miser

What, you don't think the Democrats do the same?

Heck, you yourself can be counted on to parrot the talking points of the day

Its a little complex, and we've contributed to it with our needless wars and involvement, but we should not be importing potential enemies.  And we should be using accurate terms when discussing it, like Islamic Terror.

It would have been great if someone else discussed these things during the primaries, and make proposals to address it, but no one else did.

That's just irrational and mean spirited shit slinging.  You never heard the names of most of Trump's cabinet members before 2016 and now you claim to have insight into their character and conduct.   Do you even know who among his cabinet are Democrats?  Have you followed their careers up to now or do you just go with what the left wing purveyors of horseshit tell you that gives you a warm fuzzy feeling.

I can't imagine what would possess a Brit to have such a passionate hatred for an American Billionaire come President that it carries over to his family, his cabinet, each and every one of his other appointees and all of his associates.  Can it be that black and white?  The law of averages tells us that there must be at least a few who are not irredeemable miscreants and ne'er do wells.  How about Trump's grandchildren?  Do you have some dirt on them that you got from Kathy Griffin you'd like to share with us?  You are beginning to sound more and more like Meister and that should keep you up at night.

^^^ Yeah, but where does any of that address the toe curlngly embarrassing obsequious behaviour of the cabinet yesterday? It isn't hatred on my part, but the obvious priorities of Trump's equally co-dependent poodles. Can you imagine if the crew of a nuclear sub sucking up to the skipper en masse? And the skipper demanding unqualified devotion to the exclusion of pretty much anything else, including ability to do the job in hand?

The next step Trump will want to be called Dear leader, have the cabnet spontaniously applaud his every fart, belch and  arse scratch. And woe betide any who don't clap or for long enough; They'll be fired at best and fed to the dogs at worst.

But unfortunately, everything you mentioned is of himself, Trump. Those traits are him and only those things. He has no empathy, no intelligence (intellectual or emotional). He is incapable of knowing anything, hence him simply tweeting or uttering whatever comes into his head. He has the strategic thinking of a jellyfish. The impulses of a fly. 'This' moment will be forgotten in ten seconds, before he moves onto something else. That is why he'd be simply a village idiot with the same expectations, but frighteningly anything he says or does, matters. He's alienated the USA's allies, and personally embraced its adversaries. He is not America, and not what it ever was. He is a danger to its standing, its  function on the world stage, its respect and its future. Anyone willfully failing to see that is deluded.

I hope you see there can be a little nuance here. Not every opponent of this administration wants to roll out the red carpet for these folks. But there is a smarter way to handle it. There is 'no room at the inn' at least until we clean our own shit up - that reasoning would have sufficed. Instead he took a sledgehammer to the thing, because he himself lacks nuance.

I would rather put someone in place with a sledgehammer, than someone with plans to build a bridge for muslims, who also took 10's of millions of dollars from countries run by muslim despots.

Interesting.

Want to know something even more interesting?

The article states the hackers attempted to change votes, but omitted who they were attempting to change them to.

Funny, they have all this information and technology, and Bloomberg wrote a pretty comprehensive article about it, yet didn't include who the hackers were attempting to change the vote for.

Did bloomberg forget to include the bit of information?

Did bloomberg purposely not release this essential information?  If so, why?

A few new sets of eyes on the crisis would be nice - not those of a 71-year-old mental deficient and his remoras.

That means getting Netanyahu and Madame Clinton off the fucking stage, too. All the rotten performers in this play need to step aside and let someone else try to fix it.

And this isn't a TV show, it's not going to happen in 40 minutes.

That's because you're a scumbag willing to go after women and children. It's why no one likes you or your politics anymore. The Dems have no moral boundaries and will attempt to demonize anyone who disagrees with them. Most decent Americans don't really care for totalitarianism.  ;)

Speaking of interfering in another country's election. I don't recall any Congressional Hearings or even much news printed about it.
