chapel hill, nc
NC is one of the greatest places in the world.  few know it.

i like NC.  the summers can be tough though.  there's lots of music, the cost of living is low, and people like to have a good time.  unless you're stuck with a bunch of Baptists

btw - i hate that the phrase 'cost of living' was ever coined.  how messsed up is that perspective?

haha, thanks for a chuckle.  you're right.  i had only considered the deranged nature of this term on a subconscious level previously.

I don't get what's weird about the phrase 'cost of living'.

Consider the alternative - although that can be damned expensive too!

there's an inherent creepiness to the phrase.  it suggests a mandated expenditure in order to sustain something that, in accordance with thousands of years of religious teaching and humanist preaching, can have no cost applied to it.  i understand what the phrase actually means.  the source of my wincing resides elsewhere.

i love the southwest.  if i were given the choice of living in any part of the country, the southwest would be it.  living in pittsburgh... i can certainly see why you're ready to go back.
