CIA headquarters burns and reveals industrial scale illicit drug lab.

"  This is the first time, however, that drugs are seized on an official CIA installation, and the incident could have some very serious consequences for the organization which is already at odds with the new American President. "

Yes.  They are now exploring to see if the fire was a meth lab explosion.  The article mentions Mena, as well.

This started with the Vietnamese war, didn't it?  So many of our guys came home addicted.  Funny, how most seemed to dry out at home without a lot of rehab?
I can't believe that, when there was so much money made back then with illegal drugs, that folks would have stopped or only have done it sporadically.

George W, one of the first things he stated he wanted to do when he took office, was to stop inspections of trucks crossing back and forth across the Mexican border.  He never gave an explanation for that.  And, shipping bodies from the war back home in the wee hours of the morning and forbidding reporters and the public to 'greet' the bodies, once again on American soil?  We know that drugs were smuggled into the country by the government in caskets.  There were pictures of crashed planes, the contents broken and drugs strewn all over.

I remember, in the 60's, blacks in the ghettos would complain that the government was shipping drugs into their neighborhoods.  I was shocked that anyone could think such a thing.  I believed in America back then, irrationally  backed the country.  I was incredibly stupid, because it turns out that they were right.

Thanks for this information.

Whatever. What really matters is that I didn't give you permission to use the picture, which I thought had been shared in the utmost confidence, of the all weather home gym Tony Little designed for my winter compound as your latest avatar. At long last, have you no shame? Asking for a friend who's name is in my briefcase.

Heh, heh, heh. I was wondering if anyone would catch that. (Mena)
That's the time (pre-Vietnam) the abc agencies operations went into full swing, but I believe they started dabbling all the way back in the early 50's.
Yeah, I saw those articles about the bodies being desecrated as cover for bringing it into the country - when the stories broke. >:(
You weren't stupid, those were different times. A little naieve maybe. (Besides, stupid you have to work at, (and dumb, that just comes naturally).  ;) ) We thought we had a government we could believe in.
Look at the exposed corruption we see daily now. None of it would have been believable back then.
As far as G.W. goes, Daddy was Director of the CIA - the biggest importer of illicit drugs - so he was protecting the family investments by doing that. I wonder how many Billions more was smuggled in that way. It's still treason.

Turn off all javascript before you go here, the page falls back just fine (all the way back to IE 7 or equivelant).

Holy Shit !!!
I pulled up the source code for that page. It's HTML5 format, but get this, the code isn't minified and it's oddly spaced, so I looked for hidden text. This shit is deliberately spaced (Tabbed actually) to form the 'Tau' between the formatting. OMG LMFAO.
That shit was done on purpose - LOL
Those assholes even insert their symbolism into the source code. ::)

Two screenshots, the second is the CIA page, the first is a standard non-minified HTML5 page from justice.gov
White-space highlighted on both.

LOL -
Looked for opposing viewpoints. The story seems to be sourced only from world news daily.
Lots of hits, but most from questionable sites.
This story is pretty much reprinted verbatim from all the sites. So, one verifiable (questionable) source.

From world news daily: "Legal Notice
Information contained in this World News Daily Report website is for information and entertainment purposes only. "

MSM channels aren't carrying this story.
A search from Langley newspapers came up with the big goose egg too.

Appropriately cropped and presented in the abstract, the avatar photo has become my legal property. It is entitled Tubular Bells.

I've already sold 748 prints of it on Zazzle, but have received a warning letter from Mike Oldfield's attorney.  A misguided bluff, to be sure.  I will happily see them in court if they want to push it.  I won't even have to claim "parody."

I will gleefully claim "percussion," given the mechanical resonance of your exterior gym.  Tesla would be proud.

Oh, yes.  After posting I looked around for some source, which was never given.  I then explored news articles, and found nothing.  I wuz punked!

The link to WNDR was at the bottom of the page Logan linked to. How much searching did you have to do?

No excuses for that, I should have vetted it before posting. ::)
Thanks for the reality check GS.

Zeebo? I'm noticing a lot more stories about squirrels acting violently these days, maybe that caller on the New Years Prediction Show with Ian many years ago was onto something?

From wikipedia:

QuoteOn 14 December 1941 a Dutch minelayer named after Jan van Brakel, which was serving as a convoy escort on the UK eastern coast, accidentally hit the anchor buoy of one of the gate vessels which were protecting the entrance to the Medway during World War II. The commander reported this incident to the port authorities, signalling: "Van Brakel damaged boom defence Medway". The instant reply was: "What, again?".

"He talked of the long helicopter search and dramatic rescue of Marlon Brando’s son Christian from a remote Mexican seaside cave where the lad was being held by eight dangerous hippies; of the time he piloted his glider into Cuba and recovered $2 million of his client’s “assets”; of the famous Mexican prison break, another helicopter caper which, he said, inspired the Charles Bronson movie Breakout; of the “Onion King Caper” in which a beautiful model shot her octogenarian husband, then turned a shotgun on herself because Armes wouldn’t spend the night with herâ€"all incredible adventures of a super-sleuth, adventures made more incredible by the fact that both of Jay Armes’ hands had been blown off in a childhood dynamite accident."

I just bought a new set of ATV tires fo mhy WHYP! Shopping for ATV tires is such a fucking pain in the ass, the cheap mud tires like ITP Mud Lite and Interco Swamp Lite are cheap don't last for shit on pavement and ride like ass. So after a lot of research i settled on GBC Grim Reapers. They are more of a all terrain but have deeper tread than the standard budget mud tires and are 8 ply. They ride very well on pavement and are supposed to wear really well too. I took it in a creek bottom and it churned effortlessly though 8-10" of mud like it was nothing. Since the tread is not very directional it don't like climbing up creek banks in a straight line it kinda wanders from side to side. Very impressed with them though so if you need a good set of ATV Tires check out the Grim Reaper they are tiddies!

An update on STEORN from several weeks ago.

After 23 million euros in funding ...  a nice, big, fat Irish ostrich egg.

"It's not that our existing investors didn't show willingness to give more support, but their capability to give support just kept diminishing," McCarthy said.

The political winds that will blow over 100 years make any plan like this meaningless.  It took a few political miracles over 20 just to keep the space station on track to happen and that was for a nation that has the know how.
