OMG, The Sun reports that Kanye and Kim have split.

still finding stuff in my old Science Fiction collection. These are from 1980. Kirk Alyn autographs. I actually ripped out a page from one of my Starlog magazines for the second one.

Superman has very nice penmanship.

heck, i didn't even know who kirk alyn was until i prepared to go to the Fantasy Symposium in 1980. i thought it would be fun to get two autographs. one on the stock photos he was signing and one on a more up to date image. if i recall correctly, he thought it was fun too.  :)

He looks like the Pipboy in the first one. And Starlog! Holy crap, that takes me back.

I find it amusing that people think DD equals big boobs.

i think i still have a few japanese copies. the japanese version was so much better... foldouts... high gloss images.... gobs of art... etc.
i gave most of my Science Fiction collection up for charity auctions years ago. kept a few personal items... mostly autographs and convention committee stuff... convention awards... gobs of photos and such.

Star Trek TOS - - BBC is rebroadcasting Star Trek the original series ( on Fridays ), but they've colorized it. I generally don't like a classic re-colorized, but I have to say, this is an exception. It actually adds new depth to the series. This is a rare exception to the rule. It's done tastefully and professionally, which is extremely rare for a re-boot - which I consider any alteration of an original to be.
The series was originally broadcast in 'Technicolor' , but the depth of field on the re-broadcast is amazing.
They also didn't change too many of the colors, but accentuated them with 'POP'.
Even though I know the soundtrack, and what is going to happen (ST-TOS reruns were a Sunday afternoon staple in the early to late 70's ) this colorization takes the cake. It's noticeable to fans, but I doubt someone that has never seen the the series before would question it, even though the series is from the '60's - that's how powerfully integrated the color is.
This was done seriously, and professionally, to make it unnoticeable to those that haven't seen the series in a while - or don't remember the original, but for those that do, I would highly recommend to check it out. It almost makes the series new again - and that's really rare for me to recommend that of any show, no matter how big a fan I am of it.

Is this a sample of what you mean? I looked, did not see anything explicit.

Hey - That's it.  :)

The color enhancement is damn subtle on most scenes, but it is there. Watch the little scenes of the enterprise cruising around the planets for the highest contrast to the original. Also watch the starscape in the background of any scenes that show the windows on the deck of the scene.
The general grey of the interior of the Enterprise is also blue now in the remastered version. Watch the background colors - they're subtle, but different.  Psychedelic '60s style.   ;)

States that have legalized marijuana have seen a drop in traffic deaths.  Nobody saw that happening.  Correlation is not causation, but it would appear that drugged out pot heads are not flocking to he highways.

Portugal legalized drugs.  It's the only country ever to do so.  Crime went down.  It used to be one of the most unsafe, and now it's one of the safest, countries for tourism.

But, oddly enough, the number of addicts is supposed to have decreased!  Maybe once something is legal no one is pushing it and kids don't use it as a sign of their rebellion?

Anti-drug war people have made that argument for years.  Maybe we're finally seeing some evidence they're right.
