In December, it'll be 30 years since Roy Orbison died suddenly at only 52. THIRTY YEARS, and I can remember it happening.  I'm getting old.

His life was marred by a fucking heavy dose of tragedy.  Wife killed young in a motorcycle accident, two oldest sons killed in a fire (ages 10 and 6)... then he dies in 1988 just as a resurgence in his career is taking place.  He was dead just two days after recording this interview:

Holy Shit !     Yeah, 30 years. You're not the only one getting old.
JH.C, it seems like the Traveling Wilburys were just hitting the scene yesterday.
Roy, a Heartbreaker, (T.P.)  now both passed on, a beatle, and Dylan.

But hey Baby...       It's alright.    ;)

Edit:
The history from the horse's mouth...

Grover Norquist, Shurf Joe and Ron Jeremy were partying with him?

It is weird but who knows. I’m sure it made sense to them at the time. He was probably partaking of substances and his old ticker couldn’t handle it. Heidi Fleiss was partying with them too. I read she Hof and Jeremy were supposedly driving around that night, and the hedgehog was the one who found him.

Who cares? This technology is long since obsolete.

Otherwise they wouldn't tweet about it.

R.I.P. Willie McCovey
One of the greatest.
Always and forever, Giant.

Yes, R.I.P., Willie.  Very nice baseball, though, Étouffée.
