I've seen them , but never tried it. It looks delicious! I found some elaborate variations.

Japan doesn't recognize Christmas as a national holiday, but they do celebrate with fried chicken (preferably KFC) and elaborate cakes.

No, they usually save those for Valentine's and White Day. On Valentine's day, the women give gifts then a month later, on white day, the men reciprocate.
