Driving cars can be benign but that really depends on the person.  Same thing applies to guns.

Which brings me back to what I said yesterday. This could be repeated everyday (or even twice a day) for a year and no-one would bat an eye. Even if it was the family of those on this forum. It isn't seen as a problem and so nothing will be done.

Car manufacturers have over the years completely changed car design, they now actively make the front end pedestrian friendly so it collapses to absorb an impact from a person, active braking sensors that will stop the car if someone runs across in front of the car. Most of the cars made in the 1960's and even up to the 90's wouldn't be allowed to be manufactured if designed now. But no-one complains that is against anyone's rights. Why?

There is a certain well funded and vocal percentage of those on the left that want to completely repeal the 2nd. All guns from private citizens to be confiscated by the government.

Until I hear a majority on the left denounce this, i just don't see any common ground.
