The petulant rants Trump is having have everything to do with his unpopularity and nothing to do with the flag or the National anthem...

When did Trump say anything about this being about him?  I pointed out the golden state warriors made their supposed visit to the White House about Trump, he didn't.  All he said was a visit to the White House (not a visit with him personally) was an honor.

Is it really ego driven to not extend an invitation to people trashing you?  If he had extended the invitation anyway, you'd have said he was needy and was demanding the attention.

What he did say about the football games didn't have a thing to do with him personally.  I'm the one who said disrespect for Trump was a part of why the football players were ramping things up.

Um, it doesn't.

Oh? How so? No football or basketball contract says their conditions of employment include standing or even attending the playing of the National Anthem. The POTUS oath does include upholding the Constitution, and Trump has several times broken that oath. But if you think its okay that Trump can say what he likes simply because someone criticises him but won't criticise Russia for espionage, but think players should be fired for showing their dislike for Trump's racism then its you who is mistaken.

... Russia has been confirmed by NATO and US only security services they have made inroads in undermining US and European election and infrastructure systems. NOT once has Trump criticised Russia, not once...

Sure he has.  But this is like Charleston, no matter what he said or when he said it, it wasn't going to be right.

What, you thought the media was going to be fair and honest and report his comments on the front page?  And refute those claiming he's never had a negative thing to say about Putin?  Guess what Pud - the hack media you get your talking points from isn't going to do that.

ROFL!! He doesn't have to! His raison d'être is him. He tweets constantly, he's obsessed with cable news (The one he says is fake!), he has a folder of positive news clippings (however tenuous-'Positive' is anything anyone says nice about him) delivered to him twice a day, and you think he has to say its about him? Cute LOL.

Impressive! You hit both phony narratives (Russia and racism) in one post. It's just too bad neither is gainng traction with anyone but the most truly zombified partisans.  ;)

I don't have a contract saying I can't speak to the media about my company either.  Other employees in other organizations don't have contracts saying they can't drive away business either.  But an employer can fire people for doing those things.

The president is in a somewhat different situation.  He is elected to a four year term, and it's stated in the law there are two ways to remove him - Impeachment, and a process to determine he is unable to carry out his duties.

Please list the several times Trump has broken his oath of upholding the Constitution.

Please also list examples of Trump's racism.

Trump has been fined for specific anti black employment infringement. Russia has committed espionage on the US elections. You're just thick.

You don't have access to Google?  I've already learned it's a waste of time to provide you with information or links, that once you've been given your talking points, that's it.  If you are corrected, you just go silent on the topic for a week or so, then you're right back to it.

Okay...

...But the Constitution subjects the president to a conflict-of-interest law: the so-called “emoluments” clause. That clause provides that no federal officeholder may, absent express approval by Congress, accept “any present, Emolument,…of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.”...

What does this mean for Donald Trump? The extent of his business, the Trump Organization, is murky, since it is privately held and Trump has been extremely reluctant to divulge details. But public records establish that his organization is involved in deals and contracts around the globe. Many of those ventures stand to gain from the actions of foreign governments or their agentsâ€"including investments involving foreign state-owned companies, government contracts or permits, lease agreements, or even overnight stays or events held at Trump hotels, golf courses, or other properties.

The single largest tenant of Trump Tower is the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, a wholly state-owned company. Trump’s major business partner in the Philippines was named by President Rodrigo Duterte as special envoy to the United States. Trump has ongoing business projects throughout the world, including in Argentina and the nation of Georgia. He receives millions of dollars in licensing revenue from a Trump hotel in Panama. And then, of course, there is Russia, where Trump has long had extensive business dealings, and where government officials were recently overheard by our intelligence agencies celebrating Trump’s election, after a campaign in which Russia hacked and then leaked confidential e-mails from the Democratic National Committee, among other Democratic organizations, in order to boost Trump’s chances.....So what now? Trump has taken the oath, and he is violating the Constitution. What remedies are available? The Framers considered this prohibition so important that they deemed its violation to be grounds for impeachment.

If you insist...

Quote
Trump has repeatedly publicly attacked the judge who presides over Trump University class-action lawsuits. Calling the American-born Gonzalo Curiel a “Mexican," he said Curiel was therefore biased against him, and he added to the flurry of objections by suggesting that a Muslim judge might also be incapable of hearing a lawsuit involving any Trump entity.

It starts in 1973, when the United States Department of Justice went to court with a discrimination complaint against the Trump family business, which rented apartments across Brooklyn and Queens. Coming from the administration of Richard Nixon, who was hardly a civil rights agitator, the complaint was based on an investigation that found four different Trump employees confirming that applicants for leases were screened by race. One rental agent said Trump’s father had told him not to rent to blacks and that he actually wanted to reduce the number of African Americans in his buildings. Three doormen said they had been instructed to deflect blacks who came to Trump buildings to apply for apartments.

Trump’s countersuit in the fair housing case brought against his company was dismissed by a judge who considered it a "waste of paper." The Trump organization eventually accommodated the feds, agreeing to a protocol intended to address the mistakes of the past.

Earlier in that same year Trump helped fan the flames of racial resentment when black and Latino teens were arrested in the infamous “Central Park jogger” attack. Trump alone chose to pay for $85,000 worth of full-page newspaper ads trumpeting, in capital letters, “BRING BACK THE DEATH PENALTY. BRING BACK OUR POLICE!” In the text Trump objected to then-Mayor Ed Koch’s plea for peace: Mayor Koch stated that "hate and rancor should be removed from our hearts. I do not think so.”

As Trump and other New Yorkers indulged in hate and rancor, the five accused were subjected to intense interrogation, most without their parents present, and gave false confessions. After years in prison, they were exonerated by DNA evidence. A book and a documentary film on the case showed how fear and race played substantial roles in the wrongful convictions but Trump, who fanned the flames, remained steadfast in his views. When the men received compensation for their imprisonment, Trump denounced the payments and smeared the men by saying, “These young men do not exactly have the past of angels.”

Next in the Trump record on race came a 1991 book by John O’Donnell, who had been president of Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. O’Donnell quoted Trump saying,“ Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys wearing yarmulkes… Those are the only kind of people I want counting my money. Nobody else…Besides that, I tell you something else. I think that’s guy’s lazy. And it’s probably not his fault because laziness is a trait in blacks.”

O’Donnell’s report was shocking, but Trump did not contest it at the time. In 1997 he was interviewed for Playboy by author Mark Bowden and he confirmed that the O’Donnell book was “probably true.”

Two years later, when he was seeking the reform party nomination for president, Trump changed his tune. “I’ve never said anything like that,” he told Tim Russert on Meet The Press.

There's more but you get the idea... :-\

Pud,

You are going to lose LK if you keep devoting so much time to CNN and this unhealthy hatred of Trump.

Study up on the emoluments clause. One that has never been litigated.

The president does take an oath of office. You allege he hasn't upheld the constitution. Why do you only list allegations that even if they violated some part of the constitution, occurred long before he took the oath.

You should actually read the constitution. Or better yet take an online class in it. I get the feeling there is a lot less in there than you believe there is.

The emoluments clause has nothing to do with business being done.  Unless you can prove these are anything other than arms length agreements.

As far as your examples of ''racism'', really?  That's what you've got?  You need a lot more than that to even approach the various strains of racism demonstrated by Bill, Hilary, Berock, and the Antifa thugs, among others.   Lack of a proper PC attitude isn't ''racism'', no matter what the Left thinks

You do realize the Bill of Rights applies to individual liberty vs government interference in people's lives, right?  It doesn't apply in employer/employee situations.  Most people's employers would fire them for driving away business, and rightfully so.  The League and individual owners are free to do so as well, but have only chosen to do so in the case of Colin Kapernick.

The NFL can also compel speech.  Players and coaches are required to make themselves available to the media after games.  Marshawn Lynch famously doesn't want to do it, but he does.  How do you think they can demand the players do so, or face fines, if free speech applies in the private sector?

That the League and owners have allowed this to go on has led to the rest of the players doing so.  Now they all know there is a downside to not agreeing with their teammates, but no downside to joining in.

Unfortunately for the NFL, the fans also have the freedom to make themselves be heard, by not attending or watching.  The downside falls on the owners who will now see reduced ticket sales, and ultimately, reduced TV revenues.

You're making my point for me. The NFL management and owners are supporting freedom of speech. Trump doesn't ... unless they're carrying Confederate flags

Why are there so many lefties calling for a protest of the NFL, when the management and owners exercise their rights by not signing Kaepernick to a contract?  This is the only real reason this is still an issue in the media.

K_Dubb

Thing is, it's a base numbers game like the nonsense over statues.  He seizes every opportunity to paint his opponents as un-American.  Your average voter doesn't like that stuff.  Now, wrapping yourself in the flag is fundamental Republican strategy, to which Democrats have historically replied by insisting it's their flag, too.  Now, through what I can only attribute to sheer idiocy, they are obliging him.  On cue, you have edumacated voices arguing Francis Scott Key was pro-slavery and arguing that America The Beautiful should be the anthem because it was written by a woman.

There are flags all over every polling station.  Taken to its logical conclusion, they might as well be Trump signs.  Ugh.

Nope. Nobody will sign him. He got one offer for the league minimum and his GF made him turn it down and then started this whole social justice warrior campaign about the racism in the league.

This was not an issue 3 weeks ago. People either stood or kneeled. No real press since about the third time Kaepernick started it two plus years ago. (Over Ferguson, Missouri if I remember correctly)

Now the fact that Cutler came out of retirement to get a backup slot may lend credence to the conspiracy theories. LOL
