Yellowstone is supposedly "due" for another big one.   2 million years ago 1.something million years ago and something around 600,000 years ago it blew up big time.   I think it works out to something like every 500-750k years it goes kablooey.

I guess it could happen, there are earthquakes there all the time though.  Hopefully it will wait until it is dead, I get a fair amount of joy gardening in the back-yard and the ash cloud and what-not would ruin that.  If I recall correctly, Missouri is on the eastern edge of the projected ash fallout zone if it goes super-volcanic.

My cabbages and tomatoes were doing so nicely this year...

Wow we better hurry up and prepare. Science has the predicted eruption nailed down to a million year window.

We should build a giant lid to place over the greater Yellowstone area to cap the volcano and prevent it from erupting. We could paint it red and write MAGA on it.
