At first yes. Its why it flew subsonic until well over and above the sea. I'm certain though that if Boeing had had their own version, the noise complaints would have evaporated.  :)

Ha yes it's funny how certain complaints can disappear when no longer convenient.

Eric 'winkle' Brown, the most decorated RN pilot ever, test flew a 163 after the liberation in WW2. The German ground crew absolutely forbid him at first because it was lethal to its pilots (excess fuel on landing could splash on the pilot and literally melt him alive), but Brown not only flew it, but had it returned to the UK. By the time of his death earlier this year, he'd flown more different types of aircraft than anyone in history, (nearly 500) he also has the unassailable record of over 2200 carrier deck landings, and over 2400 take offs. He was the first to land on a carrier in a jet aircraft.

You neglected to say how many confirmed kills.  :-\

How is that important? Eric Brown did more than any other aviator in history to further the safety, capability, innovation of flying. He was primarily a test pilot. Test pilots by and large don't stay in combat roles for very long. They're too valuable.

Another beautiful aeroplane. Vickers VC10. I believe its maximum speed was only beaten by Concorde, and remains the fastest normally aspirated airliner ever.

I saw some doc about him a while back when he died (I think BBC 2?) Truly amazing. Even besides the amazing aviation stuff and records but his meeting with with the historical figures and places he went/worked:
"Brown's exploits run through some of the most momentous events of world history. He was at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, he interrogated Hermann Goering, helped liberate the Belsen concentration camp and by chance managed to sing with the Glenn Miller band.:

And this:
"While a student at Edinburgh University, Brown became a stuntman rider to help make ends meet, The Scotsman reported. One memorable feat was his riding in a “wall of death” â€" with a lion in his motorbike sidecar for company."

I'm aquainted with full time pilots and engineers who had been at one of his talks about his past adventures. They all said the place was packed, and even well into his 80's, was sharp as a tack, but quite an unassuming gentleman. And all were enthralled by what he said.

A remarkable man. By the way and slightly off subject: I always get a kick out of this guy.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adrian_Carton_de_Wiart
"He served in the Boer War, First World War, and Second World War; was shot in the face, head, stomach, ankle, leg, hip, and ear; survived two plane crashes; tunnelled out of a prisoner-of-war camp; and tore off his own fingers when a doctor refused to amputate them. Describing his experiences in the First World War, he wrote, "Frankly I had enjoyed the war.""

"In his memoirs, Happy Odyssey, Carton de Wiart makes no reference to his wife or to his daughters."

Not plane porn, but it pertains to a significant event in the history of aviation. It sounds like Amelia Earhart's skeletal remains might have been found seventy-five years ago, but were disregarded because they were mistakenly identified initially as belonging to a man.

Can't you at least post a picture of Concorde or something, together with a needlessly unpleasant description of what you'd like to do the naughty little Anglo-French filly when you got her back to your place? Just to get into the spirit of things a bit?

Ohhhh, plane envy. Go on, you've aspired to the seven mile high club with that cute little Thai ladyboy.

Here's one that I'm confident you will find arousing, old stick. I believe the picture speaks for itself, so no description is necessary. The other picture for Yorkie, who despite his avowed admiration for sleek, superbly aerodynamic craft actually prefers them on the full figured side.

I just figured it would be part of his WW2 record but I suppose, as you say, he operated as a test pilot even then.

That is pretty snazzy. Is it still flown?

A couple more for Yorkie from one of his favorites, Naughty Nozzle Nuzzlers III

The RAF used it as a tanker after it retired as an airliner. I once met a ex crew member who told me they were fined everytime they took off because of the very dirty engines!

Thats a beaut, but there are a few high subsonic airliners out there, unless you were referring to UK designed birds. Regardless poking at Mach 1 for a liner is no small feat.

My contribution, a big badass Lancaster.  This beaut flies over my house at least once a year. She is the last airworth unit in America, she recenyly flew over to the Motherland to meet her sister, based in Coningsby,UK., the only other airworthy Lancaster in the world and they flew in formation.

This year she was surrounded by a flight of Harvards(based near my hometown). It sounded amazing as they flew about. Piston engines in full song, delightful.  I'll get to here them again on the 11th during our Remembrance Day ceremonies.

As a point of interest regarding the 163... My grandfather had mentioned that the pilots started carrying a pistol (again, not to shoot the enemy.)  They watched one of their fellow pilots crash, get covered in the fuel and beg somebody to shoot him.  when nobody would, it became obvious that if you wanted to end it when there was no longer hope, you would have to take matters into your own hands.

Sort of the same strategy pioneers used in "Indian Country," always want to save one bullet (or more if traveling with women) due to the tortures, rapes, etc. Interesting the "Indians" didn't do this (and often as in many cases worse tortures were between warring tribes,) a big part of their culture (I'm talking mainly the Plains ones) was the ability of a warrior to die with dignity under torture by enduring it and even singing "death songs" about their best hunts, wars, deeds and tribe whilst being tortured to death.

Despite the title, this thread seemed like innocent fun, and I enjoyed participating even though I know next to nothing about planes and the people who sexually objectify them. However, that was before I found out about the shackled ankles, the hooks, and the inexcusable exploitation of the ten year old Mildred Unger.

Whatever consenting adults do is their business, but getting your kicks watching a little girl dance the Charleston on the wing of an airplane is pretty twisted. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
