There have been two things on my mind for quite some time.  I must have these things soon. :D  ....on separate occasions of course.  ;)

#1 - Buckwheat pancakes.

#2 - Open-faced roast beef sandwich on thick sliced bread with crisp steak cut fries, all smothered in rich brown gravy.

... What did you like about Quisp? What does it taste like?

Quisp is like a refined Cap'n Crunch.  It has a lighter texture which does not require over-soaking to tenderize.  It has a more subtle sweetness as well.  Plus it has an alien in a propeller hat.

Old but thought of it. Some recreated the meal featured on the album cover. Yum.

Ps: got a 'free' soda at grocery store today. "Sicilian Lemon Soda" good n not too sweet but reminded me. Anyone see Schweppes "Bitter Lemon" in N.America? I recall being able buy in DC area once but now cant find anywhere. Good stuff popular in UK, like lemonade with quinine (think tonic water so not so darn sweet as our lemonade.)

What the hell is this mystery food? The reddish stuff looks like kimchi which I really like.

Is the green stuff seaweed? I usually like it but not sure if I'd like it in those sheets. Maybe.

Affirmative. The top images are balut *gag*

Italian beef and sausage combo

Portillo's in Chicagoland would do.

Id rather like with mashed potatoes, I used to love this at random cafe/truckstops as a kid n then they all, somehow, became fastfood franchise-based instead of healthy meals served by jaded, smoking waitresses.

For some reason, it reminded me of this.  I really like the stuff.  I think my heart just stopped.

Ha. That was more camp fare (or I hear navy or army grub.) Nothing like severly salted meat reconstituted and add gravy with more salt n fat. But cheap.

I love Italian and French sodas. They have a great bubble and I think use real fruit juices. Not overly sweet either. They are great with an extra nice dinner accompanied with a glass of wine.

Does anyone remember Squirt? Not anywhere as good as the ones noted above but it's an American grapefruit soda. Always loved that stuff but can never find it anywhere. I know they still make it but good luck finding anyplace that might have it. It's really good with gin too. Sort of like a Tom Collins.

I could really go for one right now.

The closest I've found is Ting which is a Jamaican grapefruit soda. Although, anyplace that ever carries them are always out of them.

I loved it as a kid. That and Wink, which is basically the same thing.

Yep!  Loved the stuff.  I used to get it in Pennsylvania, but have never seen it in here in Virginia.  :(

Still sell it down here n sometimes have it. Dont drink cokes but loved Squirt and Fresca as a kid (I think folks thought 'healthy' cause fruit- or course not. Fresca these days, when I have, tastes different? Sweeter? I think they use that new sweetener.
I havent seen Snap E Tom on shelves forever. Mainly was more bloodys but I liked just as a drink instead of V8 etc.

Speaking of sodas...

This stuff was so minty, crisp, and refreshing.  I'm not even sure if it's produced anymore.

Ya there is some great stuff down there. I wouldn't recognize my old home town now that it's the fastest growing in America. Kinda sad, I remember being able to drive out to the "country" but now that drive would take a long time.

No, those were good. But these can accompany any meal, esp if smoking or grilling it (which means most) but can be good alone for starving student, camper, hunter, fisherman, cowboy,or etc. Cheap, filling, n good.
Conagra Ranchstyle Beans (browser wont let me post link.)

Oh they are good without doubt.  Just no auxiliary can of grease strapped to the top
