What's a newspaper? btw what do people use now to line bird cages?

Probably bird cage liner made from old recycled newspapers, packaged in non-biodegradable plastic. That's called progress.

jazmunda

Making trailers for Art Bell. Too soon?

zeebo

Interpreting modem connection sounds.

Rewinding cassette tapes with a pencil.

Cleaning out the rubber ball inside a mechanical mouse.

Not that I was any good at doing so but driving with a manual transmission.

Fast scrolling past Falkie's wall of texts has been replaced by quick bursts past bobo's posts.

I have a 1962 ford F100...3 on the tree.  No power steering or brakes....I struggle.

Again, not that I'm a whiz, but doing math without a calculator.

Compared with many younger people, you're probably a whiz. Did you have to memorize the
multiplication table in school? Right there, you're way ahead of more and more people who can barely add single digits in their head, much less anything halfway complex.

Hooking up an Analyzer to a Source Route Bridged Token Ring Network and understanding the results
Configuring a Multiprotocol Router for TCP/IP, IPX, Apple Talk, Banyan Vines, Decnet and SNA

If there's anything more satisfying than this, I don't know what it is. Except in stop & go traffic.

Tuning a CB antenna with an SWR meter

Why is this obsolete? Are the antennas self-tuning now? And what happened to single-side-band? I saw some expensive new CB radios that didn't have it. I thought SSB was the future. At least in the past it was the future.
