Sad lyrics.  Too bad it wasn't written by an Idahoan - Smoke From My Rifle Aiming At A Liar.

i've never paid attention to the lyrics.  i just hate the song.

hated this shit when it came out in 1997, and still do.

it might be because the rock station across the hall from me (in 1997 when i was 17) played this shit incessantly and most of the jocks would turn the monitors up reeeeally loud to make sure the whole building could hear what they were playing.  i was busy inserting local spots in limbaugh's commercial breaks or reading the news, and i gave zero fucks what was happening across the hall.  honestly, i was moved by very little of the music that came out when i was a teenager.

I think that's the probable outcome.

Alabama won't allow abortion in cases of incest or rape.  And Missouri is following along.

If the bill(s) provided rape/incest exemptions, would you still oppose it?  That's not some "gotcha" question.  I'm simply interested to know.

There's a reason abortion has been such a powder keg issue in this country compared to the relative "calm" surrounding the issue among some of our European counterparts; Citizens here were entirely excluded from the process of deciding the matter.  Then, without the consent of those who oppose abortion, tax dollars were funneled into organizations that provide abortions while pro-abortion forces shouted, "Neener neener neeeeeener!" in their faces.  Then, certain politicians started speaking as if they'd support post-birth abortion.  Then, the New York State Legislature physically stood and cheered as it passed a bill guaranteeing abortion up to the point of birth.

My point is, pro-abortion forces in this country have over reached.  The heavy handed blowback you see in MO and AL is what they get as a consequence.  There are countless otherwise reasonable people who, after having witnessed decades of behavior like that described above, are decidedly pleased watching the current outrage of those who support abortion access.  For them, the shock and anger expressed over these bills is a delicious treat.

I am seeing the same kinds of signs and getting the same kinds of feelings that I did right before the attacks of 9/11....and they are mounting...

Lisa and I had an identical dream the other night of a hydrogen bomb exploding above a city..our friend Paul saw the same thing..our other friend Julio keeps warning me but nobody else in our Circle..Tony and Leonardo also saw it..I am getting confirmation from multiple people at this point that I know..

If the EAS tones come on and you know for certain that it isn't a drill, and even more so if you know servicemen/women whose unit has been activated....RUN!

I pray I'm wrong..but none of us were for 9/11..sooooo....

I believe you, Anthony!

hey fuck you! I went out of my way tonight to listen live and get into the chat. I had sure sex lined up but I chose to listen to the show and had to lie to a perfectly good piece of tail that I had shit to do. So I get all alone and the stream kept cutting out and chat didn't work. Fuck you. Now I am jacking off. My dog also says fuck you.

Just to clarify, didn't DPS get banned for posting a gif of a woman being aggressively mouth-fucked?

Is that what happened?  I can't even come close to remembering.

It was back when MV was swingin' the ban hammer recklessly...

I don't think that's an accurate description of how I've run the forum at any point, but ok.

That sneaky transition to "2015/She's gonna dance and then get paid" really condenses hundreds of pages of critical analysis of her attitude and style and motivation in a neat, subtle way.  This is a beautiful, moody masterpiece with great characterization and narrative arc.

And from BellGab's poet laureate, no less! I'll take that. Thanks.

I gave up on Saul after Season 3. They got stuck between two stools and are more interested in making Saul/Jimmy sympathetic, but it doesn't work and you get whole seasons where hardly anything happens. I'm guessing that there are two groups of writers with different ideas and they're struggling to make it coherent. It's a shame because they have a good cast (although they are terrible with women) and it feels like a waste.

I've actually enjoyed BCS even more than Breaking Bad, but I can totally understand your take on it.  Perhaps as the series wraps up, it'll make all of the "nothing happens" episodes seem worthwhile to you in retrospect (if you decide to catch up on the show).

During the night
a little grimy club is doing it right
Heather Wade
She's gonna dance and then get paid

The money is sweet
she takes a while to rest her feet
befuddled downright
she hears her father on the air every night

2002
she's on the phone and can't get through
email will do
and by September they talk it through

2015
he's gonna do his show on a stream
his tenure is brief
she takes his place in the desert heat

Desert heat

I've never seen an episode of GOT.  I have no idea what it's even about.  When the series is entirely finished, I'll check it out.

I no longer am willing to be strung along season by season, episode by episode, waiting for these shows to squeeze out an episode.  It's excruciating.  I'm glad I'll get to binge watch this one (if I like it).

The Sopranos made people wait forever (up to two years?) for new seasons to air.  Better Call Saul is taking a similar approach.  Glad I got into The Sopranos after it was finished.  I made a mistake being impatient to see BCS.  Now I'm right there with all of the other rubes awaiting season 5.  I didn't follow my own rule with BCS.  Ugh.

Radio and Podcasts / Re: Rush Limbaugh Becoming Stale?
« on: May 09, 2019, 11:17:23 PM »
What I like about Limbaugh is he is funny and uses clips from the "media" and various politicians to hoist on their own petard with their comments and news items. And, normally, is not hysterical.

What I like about Rush is that you'll know what's happening after listening to him.  Period.  It's the most thorough roundup of news I've seen anywhere ever.  Yeah, you'll also get his opinion, but in delivering his opinion, he'll provide the leftist point of view in order to explain himself.  Regardless of whether you agree with him, you'll know what's happening if you listen to Rush.  It's a giant misconception that a leftist can't listen to Limbaugh without having a seizure.

I'm going to merge this thread with the already existing Limbaugh thread, btw.  Just a heads up so you know where it went.

No umami to speak of.  However miso paste (a fermented soy product) does.  On its own it tastes like barf but there is a dressing they make out of it that makes even a stupid little salad of iceberg lettuce and carrots and red cabbage taste wonderful and makes me forget all about my incipient bosom.

heh heh

...milk originates with lactase in it - it is pasteurization that removes the lactase enzyme (which helps us digest the milk).
