Quote from: albrecht on August 25, 2022, 02:29:41 PMThere were several days discussing 9/11. Start here.

https://archive.org/download/coast-to-coast-am-w-art-bell-open-lines-collection/2001-09-11%20-%20Coast%20to%20Coast%20AM%20with%20Art%20Bell%20-%20The%20September%2011%2C%202001%20Show.mp3

Thank you.  That sounds very familiar, I'm guessing that Art replayed it on certain 9/11 anniversaries.  His voice sounds so powerful, no sign of the COPD that would slow him down somewhat, in the years to come.

Quote from: albrecht on August 25, 2022, 08:36:58 AMI was out of the country during 9/11 but I seem to recall hearing a replay later and that Art did have a show on 9/11 with lots of callers and his thoughts about retribution. You probably can find it in the archive.

Oh good, I was hoping that he did a show, especially on the first night of 9/11.  That network coverage I spoke of was abominable.  Three straight nights of boo-hooing, we are such victims, what did we do to deserve this?  I was near to pulling my hair out.

Quote from: WOTR on August 25, 2022, 01:55:25 AMMr. Gins... It is nice to see you again. you are one of a fairly limited number of posters that I did genuinely miss from ellgab when I no longer logged in.

To answer the question, I was on a D-6 dozer very near the local international airport listening to the radio. I think that I had posted that I did some cold math in the early hours when I recall that the news was reporting "up to 50,000 dead" and I lost even more respect for the reporters who were trying to sensationalize an already horrible event.*

*They said that 50,000 would be in the towers. I divided it by 2 as the first tower was hit well in advance of the second and then took 1/3 of that number as the plane was described as hitting the top 1/3. My estimate while they were saying "up to 50,000 dead" was closer to 8,000. And there is no way that they were not trying to sensationalize it even more with their estimate.

Hi WOTR, good to see you too.  I remember being curious as to what Art's thoughts would be on 9/11 but my local radio station preempted him with three straight nights of network coverage.

Same here.  I was working late nights at the time and would sleep in.  By the time I woke up, everything was down.

Quote from: McPhallus on September 09, 2011, 04:11:36 PMI was on my way to my terrible job at evil Satan Farm headquarters and I heard the local radio schmucks talking about a plane hitting a building or something?

Got to my desk and heard the news.  The IT people were nice enough to set up a video feed from one of the cable news networks, which I watched for the rest of the day.

Funny thing.... In the ensuing days, I heard from people I hadn't talked to in years.

Quote from: Marc.Knight on June 28, 2009, 01:12:11 PMIt is interesting.  In college I had a friend who had a debilitating fear of tall buildings.  Sort of the opposite of a fear of heights.  When we drove by a tall building he would end up on the floor of my car whimpering.

Quote from: mannequin on March 27, 2012, 08:54:15 PMI have a few experiences that I can't explain.

I used to live in an old crafstman style home, built in 1925. It was probably some kind of servants dwelling because the house behind me was really big, while mine was only about 1/3 it's size (maybe  1,400 sqft) and had a flagstone walkway leading back toward the larger house. Anyway, it was really old, had hardwood floors and was just kind of basic. Sometimes at night, my wife (at the time) and I would hear banging going on in the kitchen. We agreed it was the cabinet doors opening and closing, but we never witnessed it. We had cats, and they were easy enough to blame, but I remember one time the racket was really intense and I sat up in bed to see all the cats asleep around me. I remember being paralyzed with fear.

Another time, in the same house, I was awakened by something. The phenomena always occurred between midnight and 3:00 am, as per the paranormal textbook. Anyway, I saw a bright, almost neon, green light zig-zagging down the hall and disappearing. I figured it may have been the reflection of vehicle lights, somehow making it's way through the blinds, but the more I think about it, I don't know what it was. Green lights? Weird. I never made contact with any entities. I think there was something there.

I sold the house in 2006 and bought another house built in 1963 - and that is another story. Stay tuned, lol. I believe something got stirred up in the wake of my very painful and quite brutal divorce and subsequent home remodel. Haunted places or haunted people? I have other stories that I'll get to in time.

Quote from: manfromplanedtx on March 17, 2012, 08:40:49 PMWhen I was a teenager, I saw shadows out of the corner of my eye every so often, when I was alone.

I consider myself a Christian and believe in Christ, but I do not for the most part believe in prayer.
My feeling is God created wonderful things, but cannot intervene.

Anyways, my story was around 1995, when I was living in the San Fernando Valley in a small single by the intersection of Sepulveda and Roscoe. I was a salesman for an Adult Video company as was my
ex con, heroin addicted roomate. There was alot of negative energy in my life and in our neighborhood. We slept on the floor in opposites ends.

One night I am having a nightmare in which a dark force is choking me in my sleep. Afraid at first, in my dream I remember saying to the thing that you can't hurt me, I believe in Jesus. My fear went away, and after a moment so did the choking sensation. I woke up, and with 1 minute, my roomate in his sleep says that something is choking me and he wakes up with his eyes bulging out of fear.

Whatever had been screwing with me, went to attack him.

But, for me, the worst guest ever has got to be the Psychic Vampire.  Much worse then the Wiccans.

Quote from: Roswells, Art on August 07, 2022, 02:23:15 PMI didn't catch much more then a few minutes of the show last night. I was distracted when a hit and run driver ran into a tree in my yard.

I must be a trained photo arcologist or whatever because I see what he's referring to, I just think they are rocks though. lol
I listened for a few minutes after a long commercial break.  No paying advertisers, just spiels to interest people in joining the 9.5 club.  When Richard came back on, he wished everyone a happy Easter.  Obviously I was hearing a pre-recorded show.  Anyway, I hope your tree is OK.

Quote from: albrecht on August 06, 2022, 07:51:32 PMAlong with the owls. I actually that more likely than the aliens in the story(s.) The great horns can look weird n hop around. Could see being seen as aliens, nisse, elves, gnomes etc depending on region. I hope for future detail from RCH in his mice though. That was classic. Something also to do with a pryamid model given to him and he wish he still had an Accutron to 'test' and 'measure' the torsion effects. BRAAPS!
I listened to Richard's show last March.  He and his compadres were working on a project where they listened to radios and received hyper dimensional, coded messages that they would then attempt to decipher.  The results were shared with members of his 9.5 club only, but he did say that one of the messages received had something to do with Ukraine, shortly before the invasion happened.
