Politics / Re: President Donald J. Trump

David Frum says this morning’s presidential Twitter outburst recalls those words of Fredo Corleone’s in one of the most famous scenes from The Godfather:

“I can handle things. I’m smart! Not like everybody says, like dumb. I’m smart and I want respect!”

“Trump may imagine that he’s Michael Corleone, the tough and canny rightful heirâ€"or even Sonny Corleone, the terrifyingly violent but at least powerful heir apparentâ€"but after today he is Fredo forever. There’s a key difference between film and reality, though: The Corleone family had the awareness and vigilance to exclude Fredo from power. The American political system did not do so well.”

You are smarter than to actually believe this. Hell, I'm considering lawering up on this one...

The idea that if you have nothing to hide has never held true- but in today's culture you would be an idiot to volunteer information or talk to prosecutors without one present no matter your position.  For somebody in the whitehouse talking to special prosecutors and top officials in the FBI it would be suicide as they will find something to gain leverage.

I'm not saying they are innocent.  But the idea that because there are lawyers involved it  proves guilt is an extraordinary weak argument.

The meme doesn't specifically say guilt, what it says (more or less) is "If it's all 'fake news' why are they all lawyering up?"  Of course I realize what you are saying, but if Trump or his campaign team (or administration) never had any contact with the Russians or with Wikileaks and there is genuinely not a shred of truth to this story ("fake news")  I genuinely don't see why they have any need for lawyers.

I agree hiring lawyers isn't evidence of guilt, but it certainly is strong evidence this Russian investigation isn't just 'fake news' either, which is actually what the meme says.

Cheap shot, I know.  If I was completely sober, I'd feel more ashamed.

I believe that picture is actually of you and the hopeless retard.  It could be of any two Trumptards though.

It kinda is.

Two posts in?  You haven't come up with an answer to that basic question going on over a year now.

Come on, shock the world and finally tell us what he is specificaly accused of doing.  Feel free to call a friend if you need to

You're as boring and predictable as you are stupid, hopeless retard.  This is my last reply to you.  If you can find a person here who isn't brain dead (so, pretty much anybody but you) to ask the question, I'll answer it.

So you don't know either.  It's ok, no one does.

Doesn't matter.  The fake news media isn't interested in accuracy, let alone the truth anymore, and neither are the people consuming their product

My lack of interest in having a discussion with you is not an indication of my inability to answer the question, hopeless retard.  Two posts in and you're already mindlessly chanting 'fake news.'  You can't even stop yourself from showing why you aren't worth my time or anybody's time.

Hey, look who's out of his strait-jacket and back on the internet.

Perhaps you can tell us what it is Trump is acused of doing, and what the Russians would have needed him to help them with.

Perhaps you can look these things up yourself, hopeless retard, since it's all quite public and anybody with an IQ above zero (so, not including yourself) already knows the answer to that question.

I'm not playing your stupid games, hopeless retard.  You're not worth my time or anybody's time.

None of it even makes sense. Who's "lawyering up over fake news?!" You really gotta try harder.  ::)

Of course nobody really is, because the Russian investigation isn't looking into 'fake news.'  But, high ranking members of the Trump Administration have lawyered up all the while Trump and various others deny anything occurred.  It really doesn't make sense.  If they did nothing they could easily just tell the truth without any fear.

Was waiting for Knapp night .....
It seems that CKNW 980am from Vancouver, British Columbia has dropped Coast to Coast am ..... at least on Sunday nights.

Yes, Coast to Coast will no longer be airing on CKNW.  When CFUN dropped Coast to Coast before CKNW picked it up, it got in the local papers, now, it seems hardly anybody cares.

CKNW is having to come up with new programming to replace their current overnight offering, “Coast to Coast AM’ with George Noory, which has long been the all night show of choice on North American talk radio stations.
The current contract is about to run out, with the subsidiary of Bell Media that controls the Canadian rights to the show.   Bell has decided not to offer to renew on NW, a Corus property, thus forcing the station and its talk radio sister stations across the country to come up with a Canadian-based alternative.[/font]
No word on what other Vancouver station (if any) will be airing “Coast to Coast” in the future.   We assume the George Noory feature will continue uninterrupted on C-FAX 1070 Victoria, a Bell station.

A number of liberals here remain unblocked by me but only because they've displayed a marginal bit more character, fortitude and humor than the average libtard who just immediately goes right to flinging poo. Freedom of speech is a two-way street. There's the freedom to speak but there's also the freedom to not have to listen to it if you don't want to. Would you tolerate some lunatic coming up to you in the street, screaming insane rantings in your face? Is that a discussion? Anyway, aside from your highly biased ranting occasionally you have a worthy point. I don't want to see this place turned into an echo chamber but is just a bit more sanity too much to ask for?

I'd never block you Dr, we have a love connection or something.

Mueller is widely respected. Trump's history of unethical, sleazy behavior is documented and well-known, except by the likes of Sean Hannity, Jeanine Pirro and the other propagandists at Trump's official state "news" agency.

Perhaps it's time for you to do what you do best.  Spend some time with Falkie2013 at his apartment and draw some George Noory stick figures for him.  Maybe he'll sell them at a woo woo con and split the proceeds with you.

RT presumably through the FSB or some other Russian government disinformation agency also regularly produce "news" that attest to Trump's innocence.

Hrm. I was going to listen to the the show on repeat (from 2 A.M) when I heard that local idiot Mike Smyth instead.  They were playing a repeat of a program he was guest hosting but a repeated announcement said that there would soon be a 'national Canadian overnight' program airing on CKNW.  I don't know if that's just for the repeat hours, just for the weekends at some time or if Coast to Coast has been dropped by CKNW entirely.

If CKNW has or is going to completely drop Coast to Coast I can't think of any other station on the A.M dial that would pick it up.  I even checked AM 730 which has the same owners as CKNW (AM 730 is a 24 hour weather and traffic station) to see if they were now airing the repeated hours of Coast to Coast (or maybe the whole program) and AM 730 had their regular programming.

If anybody cares, if Coast to Coast is not aired in any station in the Vancouver area, I'll just drop any interest in the program entirely.  It's already mostly worthless with Nori as the regular host.

Not exactly.  People have the right to their papers and personal information, unless there is a warrant - obtained through due process - for it.  I don't know why you continue to think once a non-Democrat becomes president they lose their Constitutional Rights.

Since someone else was hosting the information on their server, they simply turned it over to Muller.  They had no right to do so, and Muller has no right to the information, let alone request it.  And he knows that, even if you don't.

Oooh yes, he's sooo respected, sooo ethical and sooo above reproach.  And a war hero.  Everything he does must be clean a a whistle because everyone in the swamp just thinks the world of him.  This should put an end to that fairy tale

Completely wrong, hopeless retard.  It's so amusing you seem to think  that you're an expert at all sorts of things you simply have either no understanding of or are simply wrong about.

If the transition team emails were sent to a .gov, they are available to Mueller without the need for a search warrant.  There is no requirement for both the sender and the receiver to agree to have them released.  If the emails were sent on a private server, that's really no different than what Hillary Clinton did, and that would require a warrant which was obviously given.

On the first point, despite all the whining from Trump's lawyer, the lawyer's letter ultimately makes it clear he's aware Mueller does not even need a warrant to obtain them because he asks Congress to change these rules "To this end, Congress should provide that..."

Of course, Mueller could also joke that he received the emails from wikileaks, because you Trumptards repeatedly said how wikileaks provided an important whistle-blower function against Hillary Clinton and that, if necessary, you'd hope they'd do the same to Trump.

I'm sure since as background to this reply that I sourced the Washington Post that you'll claim "fake news" because in the end that's all you Trumptard Cultists have to mindlessly chant.

I am also aware that in your case, hopeless retard, that you are also critical at times of Trump.  I really don't care enough about you to go through the details of 'well, at times, you're a little more than a Trumptard.'  In your reply to me on this you, did in fact, mindlessly regurgitate the false Trump claims about these emails being illegally obtained, so, in this instance you were acting as a Trumptard cultist and that's all that matters to me.
