... all the truckers and housefrows think George is not only superman, but psychic as well. Lol...

Somehow psychic George never saw the blowback coming for lazily and stupidly destroying a once great show.

Or completely failing to become the next big thing in Hollywood.

Almost?

... and also something about a Welsh guy who stole a ship from the vikings and travelled to Alabama and lived with the indians...

Was that Madoc? - there is a legend about that along with some possible relics and fortifications, supposedly hundreds of years before Colombus, almost wish I'd listened to that.

If George Noory were an animal, he'd be a malaria carrying mosquito. Still sucking in insect form.

Heh, maybe more of a tick - mosquitoes leave sooner or later

What would George do if he wasn't hosting Coast to Coast AM?...

Oh sure, tangle tongued, confused, off-beat, creepy George Noory would be just the candidate everyone wishes would run.

Remember when he said he was 'gonna work on muh knuckleball an' try out for thuh St Louis Cardinals'?  He was about 54 or 55 when he laid that one out there.  Texas Ranger fans everywhere wish that had happened.

Me, I see George making shit sandwiches for the crew on the sets of really bad TV sitcoms.

This pissed me off so incredibly.  Robert Freeman was actually fresh and highly interesting.  I wanted to immediately find out more about the odd Japanese folklore he was describing.   Zombie whale?  Awesome.  But... George did not even seem to register any of it.  No follow up questions.  Wait, what... Freeman isn't saying this is all real, just that it's fascinating enough that the stories exist and persist for some reason?  Is it just not sensationalist enough?  Lionel Fanthorpe shows up and my ears started to bleed (and he's clearly far from the worst guest they could have pulled out of their arse, it's just that it's the same old crap).  I forget what it was he said, but it made me turn off the radio in disgust.  Some BS spiritual crap, I assume.

George Noory sucks donkey balls.

We shouldn't be too hard on George this week, he's gotten a little depressed hearing that another asteroid is going to miss Earth.

This episode with Robert Freeman just reconfirms George's complete lack of interest in the subject matter.  Not sure if he's flat out lying about it, or if in his diseased brain somehow he really thinks he's some sort of investigator.

Email Notice from George Noory to the Fantastic Forum
From George Noory <george@coasttocoastam.com>

subject: FF

Once again, your forum is being used for hate and inaccuracy. The Sci-Fi show IS NOT a paid for informercial, but has been produced for Sci-Fi and will run at their expense.

Additionally, I have informed my attorney to immediately begin plans to sue various members for libel and to obtain from you either voluntarily or in court appropriate IP addresses, etc.

I take my career seriously and have NO problems with honest criticism and critique, but it's gotten out of hand.

I am asking you, as the administrator for the LAST TIME to clean this up, and will hold you personally responsible for such libelous attempts by your members to libel me and the show.

__________________________________________________________________________-

Yet George Noory has no problem criticising others - lenders, energy providers, government agencies, companies providing medicines - using a broad brush to smear entire industries without providing much in the way of solid facts, without looking into the particulars himself, just blathering away in order to promote his personal theories like abiotic oil and pet ideas like home remedies.  Just his opinion I suppose.

But somehow the opinion of others, opinions he doesn't like are libelous.  Somehow if someone thinks his show resembles an informercial more than a show inquiring into the paranormal, they are full of 'hate', 'inaccuracy', and 'libel'.  Interesting position for someone that supposedly spent a career in journalism.

George protests a little too much.  Good thing he's all for 'honest criticism and critique'.  His having 'NO problems' (sic) with that is probably what got entire threads deleted on other forums.

Further evedence for those who think he's a 'nice guy' to consider.  Further evidence for those who would accuse him of dishonesty.

A very small man.  How about the part about taking his 'career seriously'?  George Noory sucks.

I heard some of the Menzies portion and thought he was excellent; knowledgeable and although speculative, his hypotheses are based on historic fact and evidence.  His book initiated a lot of interest in early Chinese navigation several years back.  Noory was once again embarrassingly incompetent speaking with a serious scholar. He fell back on playing to the New Age loonies by repeatedly attempting to draw Menzies into the outrageous and silly stuff.  I wonder who hung-up on who.

I really enjoyed the interview Ian did with Menzies a few years back, enough to buy his first book, then also read his second one.  So tempted to listen in last night, probably should have but glad I didn't.

Would like to have heard Menzies discuss the Atlantis book, but why frustrate myself.  What could George Noory possibly add to any show?

Counting his TurdHawk days in St Louis, George is in his second decade as an interviewer on a radio show, and he still has no idea how to conduct one.  Can someone at PremRat please end this.

... I'm sure George started freaking out 45 minutes in because he was all out of 3x5 cards.

I've seen this comment a lot here. Is it in fact true, or simply speculation? If it's true, what's the source?

Don't get me wrong. I am totally prepared to believe it because it makes perfect sense to explain the endless flux of nonsense.

Speculation.  Obviously he isn't going to confess to that.

So many of his questions are the same regardless of the guest or topic - he can waste a full hour on 'how arre yoo', 'how didjuh get into this field', 'whut's next for yoo', etc, no matter how many times the guest has been on.

After that, too many of the rest of his questions are the same ones he asks no matter what the topic is - Art used to ask questions seemingly out of the blue and elicit astonishing responses.  George must have heard that early on, didn't understand those questions weren't just random shots in the dark, and now just boringly tosses them out there ('could it be angels?', 'blah blah 2012?').

Other questions are more specific to the topic at hand, but they are the same questions he asks everyone that comes on involved in that particular field.

All this mostly without having an actual conversation - little back and forth, no follow up questions, just one random disjointed question after another.  Lots of times he'll ask the same one twice in the same segment, or ask a question the guest just gone into detail about and answered - too bad George wasn't listening.  When he's asking them, he usually garbles or mispronounces a word or two.

So it sure sounds like a bunch of questions on 3x5 index cards are handed to George as he goes on (or, more likely, put up on his computer screen), and he just reads them, in order, no matter what, whenever the guests pauses to take a breath.

On the other hand, George claims to put in 8 hours a day on show prep.  If he is, he is the dumbest dullard ever to sit at a desk.

... (by the way,  you should hear some of the things Art has said on the HAM about the whole damn thing)...

I don't think Art would say much unless he thought George was either damn lazy and completely unprepared, intentionally lousy at PremRats request, or so full of ego that putting out shit show after shit show is somehow still a quality product simply because he (George) is the one doing it.

Would love to hear some of Art's Ham commentary, paraphrased..

I'm still waiting for Art Bell to come on the Alex Jones show as a special guest... Now he has George Snoory on, who just mentioned that he has no plans to retire, and plans to keep broadcasting until his producer comes in and announces that George has passed away. He said that's the way he wants to go.

Here's to listening to the 'tribute show', where Tommy shoves in a random half hour tape of George bumbling his way through a partial interview with an unidentified guest, then ducks out and heads over to Denny's.

Isn't that the worst???  It's an instant snapshot of George's true character.

This kind of stuff reminds me of his comment just a few shows ago when he responded to some guest by saying he remembers alchemy class from high school.

A perfect example of not really listening, not quite knowing the meaning of common words, a willingness to jump in with a quick lie to make himself seem informed... just an overall shoddy creepy guy in way over his head.

Yeah, and if George did a sports talk show, we'd be hearing sports don't draw ratings either..

Ghost to ghost was embarrassingly awful. The staged bits were suitable for children.

Folks ... Coast is dead. Time to toss some dirt on the coffin. And walk away. Listening any further will just tarnish your memories of something you really enjoyed

Anyone wonder how many emails George got praising him for improving G2G?  I'm guessing zero.

Tommy just groaned, more work - now that he read this he's going to have to anonamously send some to George to massage his ego...

A Grand Compromise - George changes the name of the show from Coast to Coast to The George Noory Show, and we leave him alone to suck by himself?

A few weeks ago I heard George soliciting stories for the Ghost-to-Ghost show.  It will be forced, over-produced and under-hosted.

This is how we know that George knows he sucks.  He tries to set things up to hide what he considers his weak points.  He calls this his 'system'.

In this case, it's open lines.  With open lines - screened or especially unscreened - he knows a weak point is fielding calls from people that will likely bring up words and concepts he just isn't familiar with.  He realizes he is slow and can't think on his feet.  He can't just read the next cue card.  He's uncomfortable sitting there for 4 hours not knowing what's next.  So lets get them set up ahead of time, probably prerecorded.

Laziness and ego prevent him from working on getting better.

One year Noory said for Halloween he wanted to dress in costume and show up at one of his regular joints, but not tell anyone it was him.

Wonder how that went.  I'm picturing George, sitting by himself in the Greek restaurant, wearing a cheap Hello Kitty mask, the staff pretending not to know him...

George's new book has 5 reviews on Amazon, all 5 Star.   That probably explains the jump into the top 10,000 best sellers - currently it's #9,766.

Pretty good for the popular host of the #2 radio program in America.

that was years ago.
nowadays he takes off Fridays nearly every other week.
probably for his many event appearances and book signings, plus he needs time to help write more books?  8)

George doesn't really have anything to do or anywhere to go.  He dreads weekends, but he hates his job so during the week he can't wait for the weekend.  I think he likes to hang out at bars a restaurants with Tommy and that's really about it.

He wasn't taking time off before and must have built up too much vacation, because he said PremRat was making him use vacation days (for accounting purposes, unused vacation time builds up as a liability on the books and corporations discourage that).

Poor George, even the bean counters at PremRat think he's on much too much.

Is that Evan or Evelyn?  I couldn't tell if it was a woman who has been smoking three packs of Pall Malls a day for the last 40 years or a guy with a bigger pair than Noory.

She once predicted 'fires in the West' for the Southern California annual fire season, so she has a free pass to come on with George anytime.

She's not as sure about 'cold in the winter' or 'snow up north' to go out on a limb with those..  Did she agree with George that 'sumpthin's gonna happen'?

its because of those clueless callers that noory always reviews the basics of RV and other subjects for the "newer listeners" that makes those interviews mostly rehashes of earlier interviews, boring for the rest...  :o

That, and the need to fill 4 hours with... something.

Got to say I'm surprised by all the down comments about george.I always thought he was pretty good...

Can you give some examples of George being pretty good?

Maybe some good questions he asked, or some astonishing comment or bit of info he was able to pull out of a guest?  A true follow up question of something interesting and unexpected a guest said, and not just moving on the the next random question his staff prepared for him?

thats old outdated info unfortunately.
noory originally planned to retire in Dec 2012 when he took over 8 years ago, but after a few years he decided to extend that and now has no planned retirement date.
he has reported multiple contract extensions to 2016 and beyond in the past couple years...

Not that one can believe anything he says.  When is that 'studio bein' built for me in Hawaii' going to be available again?

Has anybody noticed...some callers have extended information about the subject at hand....i.e.: the caller who had info about the Phila. Experiment and talked in detail about what went on.... Then "Mario" does not even perk up and ask him more in depth questions....  This has happened to many times for me to count and it pets my Dog the wrong way. There is so much hidden information out there that stumbles through....

This is how we know George is not interested in these topics and probably never was.  It is also how we know what a lazy unprepared bastard he is.  And how dumb he is.  And that he is not a 'nice guy' (a nice guy would be listening, engaged, doing the job at least for the audience, etc).

George hates the job, but could never find one paying more than minimum wage somewhere else.

That was Monday night's question, PB.

Tuesday's question: "What is this 'circle of expansion' thing you talk about?"

Caller: Can you tell me about any of today's thinkers who have inspired you?

Pinker: Well, there are many, and I'm sure that the audience may not have heard of some of them.  But one is Peter Singer, a controversial writer who latest book, The Expanding Circle, has influenced me.  Singer describes a movement from a time when as humans our circle of empathy included only ourselves and our mate, our children, our close family members toward a time when that circle has come to include all others across the globe, even animals, as part of our circle of those whom we care about.  Another writer who has influenced my thinking is blah blah blah blah blah . . . . [2 or 3 minutes of discussion]

Another caller.

Georgie (shuffling through his 3X5 cards): Tell me Steven, what is this expanding circle you speak of?

[Loud aaaaarrrrrrgggghhh from listeners who aren't brain dead.]

Pinker is forced to repeat (without pointing out that he has JUST FINISHED DESCRIBING THIS CIRCLE) everything he said about the expanding circle.

Hahaha, oh George.  If there is any one thing George Noory needs to hear over and over, it would be about having empathy for others, including animals.   Perhaps this was such a new idea for him he needed to hear it a few more times.

I enjoyed Bill Birnes' and Joel Martin's detailed story about how creepy New Orleans is and how many tragedies have happened there...

Didn't someone once put a curse on New Orleans?

18600
... Nancy Lieder, a self-proclaimed contactee who claims to receive messages from aliens through an implant in her brain, stated that Hale–Bopp was a fiction designed to distract the population from the coming arrival of "Nibiru" or "Planet X", a giant planet whose close passage would disrupt the Earth's rotation, causing global cataclysm.[55] Although Lieder's original date for the apocalypse, May 2003, has now passed, the imminent arrival of Nibiru is still predicted by various conspiracy websites, most of whom tie it to the 2012 phenomenon.[56]

And this just in - George Noory is still a moron..
