Sebelius: Obama Did Not Know About Obamacare Website Glitches...

I had a debate with a friend about this.  I believe that Obama did not know about the glitches.  He seems to be a tyrant, and underlings do not tell tyrants bad news.  Look at Saddam Hussein, who really believed all the reports about WMD.

I had never seen Twin Peaks, as I was working at night then.  I've been watching on Amazon Prime, and have found the episodes quite interesting.  There's a rumor the series will be back.

I've seen it happen with tourists from the UK here in Florida.  They look the wrong way first, and step into traffic.  Everyone should be required to drive on the correct (right) side of the road.

What?! They can't delay implementation! It's the law of the land! What are they, Tea Partiers!?
Why it's even settled law.  Upheld by the Supreme Court.  How dare they try to change a law.0

Anthropologists define culture as learned behavior.  I saw poor culture close up through clients - they learned to behave as poor people, not as successful people.  For instance, they would spend the day waiting in a welfare office instead of spending the day applying for jobs.  One unmarried fifteen year old girl came in to discuss a problem, and she brought along her newborn and the father of the child.  The father was a similarly aged neighbor.  While she talked to me, the father held the baby, cuddled him, and generally showed that he was actively participating in the child's life.  And he enjoyed it.  I took the opportunity to discuss with them my state's laws on legitimizing children and child support.

The father looked at me with wide eyes.  He said that he intended to support the child (limited ability as he was still attending high school) but "they" hadn't told him how much to pay yet.  He came from a culture in which the mother applied for welfare, received it, and eventually, the welfare people would go to court to recover support from the father.  At that point "they" told the father how much to pay.  This is not stupidity, nor is it sorriness.  It's the culture of the poor, and I don't know how to break it.

An advantage of the .22 pellet rifle.  The pellets don't break the sound barrier, so they don't make much noise and alert cops, starving neighbors, zombies, etc. that you are hunting.  The .22 pellet has more mass than the .177 BB, so it should be a little better at bringing down game.

Yeah ^^^.
I live in Florida.  For many years, we've put together hurricane kits - a stock of food, flashlights, water, cooking stuff, a tent, etc.  The things you'd need if the power was off for a while, and if you needed shelter because your roof was blown off.

I've also lived in the mountains where we would sometimes be blocked in by snow for a few days.  I was ready with a similar kit.  Having supplies to sustain you for a few days or weeks is sensible.

One of the more interesting ideas is to buy an inverter for your car.  Fill the car with gas before the disaster arrives (possible with natural disasters, not so much with quantitative easing) Run the car at idle to operate electrical equipment when needed.  A full tank of gas will last a long time this way.

I wonder what it is about liberals that they want totalitarian societies with THEM in control?
It shows how deeply ingrained Calvinism is ingrained in the American culture.  Even secularists, such as many liberals. believe that humanity is damned and that only an enlightened few can be saved.  And before you libs squeal, there are lots of conservative and Christian groups who apply Calvinist standards, too.

Marsha from the Brady bunch! :)
I interviewed Maureen McCormick about 20-years ago.  What a dreadfully dull, unintelligent, and uninteresting person she is in real life.

What I don't understand is why Canada changed its flag from the Red Ensign to the Maple Leaf flag.  The Leafs were like 4th in a 6-team league the year of the change.  The Montreal Canadiens won the cup.  Why didn't Canada go to a Habs flag?

Key Limes.  There's an actual Key Lime tree on one of my landlord's properties.  As no one else knows what they are, I get to pick them.  Key Limes were, for the most part, wiped out in a hurricane back in the 20s.  They weren't replanted because they have 3-4" spikes that make harvesting slow, unlike the common Persian limes with no spikes.  The difference in flavor is astounding.  No, most Key Lime pie you've had probably was not made with Key Limes.

It seems obvious to me that Cheap Channel is able to sell the SIT shows and they cost almost nothing to air.  Other than sales commissions, the show is pure profit.

My asthma is acting up today, so, after watching a little alleged NFL football, I took a nap.  Sometime while I was sleeping, someone carried me out to my car, dumped me inside, then built a high wooden wall between my car and my apartment.  I had to climb over the wall, all the while not breathing very well.  On the other side of the wall, I found that someone had seeded the lawn with black pit bulls.  Somehow I made it to my apartment and found that all the neighborhood cats needed rescuing from the pit bulls.  I had to put each of them on the roof so they could get away.  I was exhausted and lay down  for a nap, but found that every time I would go to sleep, I would walk out on my porch, and the lead pit bull who was on the lookout for me, would bark and alert all the others who would run into the yard and make a really big racket.  When I pried my eyes open, I measured my blood oxygen and it's still one percent higher that go-to-the-hospital level, so I started to call George Noory and ask him what to do, but he's not on the air tonight, so he's probably not at the studio doing show prep.

Dammit, I hate it when that happens.

West, Sharpton has a show on MSNBC.  I've seen his quotes, and the quotes from his guests, used.

Karl, as for Coulter selling books, your link to Hannity and Beck answers all.  Their listeners are Coulter's audience.  She must sell a lot of books, as she lives in Palm Beach.

West, that's a good question - would the establishment Republicans support a conservative?  Big business seems to bribe both sides.  I agree about your list of non-finishers.  Rubio may mature, so might Jindal.  They're both pretty young.

Boehner, like so many on both sides of the aisle, is a career politician.  My guess is that first and foremost he wants to maintain his job, pay, benefits, power, and access to good booze and steak.
Don't forget golf with the president.

I've searched through many news articles on the guy with the Confederate flag.  Interesting to me is that I have not found one single quote from him.  I've covered Ku Klux Klan rallies and events staged by other white hate groups.  Those people are always inarticulate and insulting towards African-Americans.  In other words, they are exactly the kind of people who give sound bites that the media love. (I spent 25-years as a news producer, so I know.)  I find the lack of a quote or sound bite highly suspicious.

Except maybe for the guy down the street who grows some killer weed in the swamp behind his back yard

I once happened upon a New Age fair inside the spare room at a local health food store.  I walked into the room and saw a lot of women wearing long dresses.  I saw lots of glares - how dare a man enter.  I found one booth at which the person claimed to photograph auras.  No one was womaning the booth, so I took a look at the camera.  It seemed to be an old wooden 4x5 camera with a modern (then) Polaroid back on it.  I wanted to get a look at the lens to see if it was one prone to lens flare and chromatic aberrations, but one of the witches, uh women, ran up and told me I couldn't look at the camera. So, (ha) I left.

I used to shop at Walmart - back in the days they advertised they had lots of Made in USA stuff.  Then the store near me closed in favor of a superstore about 10-miles down a heavily trafficked, under construction, road.  I didn't shop there for years.  I was very surprised at how junky it has become.  I've also heard how it is the #1 grocery company.  Most of the stuff I saw is stuff I would not eat.  I don't feel sorry for them either.

The planet escaping is probably what shattered the glass dome.

I think we should just jail all bankers every five years and all politicians at the end of their first term.  Just because we know they've done something illegal, even though we don't yet know what.

I seem to remember sNoory complaining about a number of Skype callers forgetting to turn off their cameras and making the call in scanty attire.
