welcome to the forums!  actually, there are a good two or three of you in this thread with whom i've never had the pleasure of conversing.  i hope all of you will post often.

by the way, noorysmustache... if you'd be interested in doing a podcast, at least for staraters, see this thread.

aldous... having moved myself just ten days ago, i'm still recovering from the stresses of doing so.  i hope your move goes painlessly.  see you soon...

if anyone would like a google plus invitation, send me a PM.  include the email address you'd like your invitation associated with.

many of you won't give a shit about the following, and that's understandable... but i thought i'd mention this because it's a nice snapshot of the quintessential, innocent, small town, long forgotten, pre-walmart america of yesterday.

someone i've never met in my life decided to put up a webpage reminiscing about my great grandfather's grocery store which closed in the late 1960s.  the old man seen bagging groceries is my great grandpa vandeven.  the author labeled him, "store employee..." haha.  he died when i was around 5 or so... but i do have a few memories of him.  i'd completely forgotten what he looked like.

i was apprised of this website by my uncle a few days ago.

life (and numerous posts by "the wanderer") has taught me that when a man feels compelled to explicitly state how well educated he is, he usually isn't.

Ryan Dunn From jackass. Hey michael I tried to email you from two locations and here on the site the pm deal did not work.
Don't know why... and my gmail is working fine, too.

Erosion?  That presumes the existence of quality to be eroded.  The program took a direct methane-gamma ray burst when Noory first flatulated himself into the broadcast chair.

Just when I thought I was out...they pull me back in.

I love you, brother.

OK, Laura Brannigan died and there was a guy, a musician with bumper music on AB show- Tom? Everybody here was talking about him and I want to add him to my Pandora.

Anybody know who I'm talking about?

Ana

I have much respect for people who think like you.

A belated but necessary, "Hello, and welcome!" to all of the new people who have joined us recently. Sorry you only got the automated welcome message in your PM box. My life has been CHAOS for the last 30 days, and I've had very little time to hang out here. I hope that will change soon. Welcome again, and post often.

OMG, Aldous, that does bring back memories.  Early nineties, driving across Nevada to California at night (of course, when it's cool), nothing but the white line ahead and Art Bell to fill up the night with possibilities, impossibilities and bumper music that made you glad to be alive and riding in the night.

I especially loved the Sultans of Swing for desert driving.

Anagrammy
Wow. Wish I could have experienced that.

I dunno... but I think you'll find your enjoyment of FB will increase significantly if you are only getting news feeds from people you give a half a damn about.  I find FB very useful.  But, then, I only have 21 "friends".
I'm with you on this. I only friend people I'd actually eat dinner with. I don't even include MY BROTHER on my friends list. You think some random Internet slug even stands a chance? I MIGHT have a total of 27 people on there. I'm not saying it's some profound honor to be on my friends list or anything. I'm just saying that unless my spittle has landed on your face at some point in the past as I was speaking to you, then forget about it. Evelyn and Curtis are the only exceptions I can think of at the moment.

As for the complete stranger "hurt" because you unfriended her?  Screw her.  :P

But it's amazing what people will do to feel like they have a personal relationship with a celebrity.
It does seem that's what it boils down to, doesn't it?

I had a random thought-

For those of you who are Phil Hendrie fans and know of the Bobbie Dooley character,

George reminds me of Steve Dooley when a guest is talking. Both George & Steve add random bits of worthless info during the conversation. Both are about as intelligent.
now all we need is for george to host a show on topiaries.

Best line I heard in a long time:

Richard:  Do you have any idea how many comets pass through the area on a yearly basis?

George:  More than I can count.

Richard:  Over 100!
oh god, is this some good therapy or what?

God this angel bitch sucks. Fucking shut-in radio at it's finest, Noory is so painfully awful tonight he's almost good: asking the same quest three times, ten second dead air, etc. I'm waiting for a caller to ask if her Precious Momentsâ,,¢ collection of angels will go to heaven when she dies.
don't know why, but i lol'ed at your implementation of the "â,,¢" special character.  nicely done.

I'm not sure why they even used Noron's photo. He's not 'ripped' or anything. He looks alot like the guy that cleans the driver's lounge at your local Flying J truck stop.
haha, ouch!  yup, catching up on posts, here...

WTF! did even bother to read my post? the answer is staring at your lame default avatar face.  i'm done with this thread.
WTF did your post have to do with listening to a shoutcast stream on a mobile Android device?  Your post was read.  I'm sure.  It just wasn't particularly relevant or observant of the original question.

is lite a free version?
thanks
Yup, using lite. It's free, and thus far I've found no reason to buy the paid version.

You know - WE had a tornado last week.  Maybe not a biggie for those who live in Tronadoville- but people, this is New England - hurricanes yes - tornadoes NO!

Here is the NASA shot of ours:

Yikes.

its obvious they all sold their soul to the devil noory, so he would give them onair shoutouts to build their new site's membership.
I'd rather shut a forum down than feel compelled to go that route just for some publicity from the very people who destroyed one of my favorite radio shows.

Dr. Death is dead.
There was a time when I thought this guy was a total asshole who deserved to be tossed in a pit and forgotten about. Not so sure about that anymore.

Oh, I beg to differ.  Anyone who knows the importance of the spice knows their place in the universe.

Speaking of sand worms, I retrieved an older graphic I put together many many moons ago for georgenoorysuck.com.  It's still one my favorites of the "before time."

You might refer to that time as GNS I and now we are in GNS II.  (cough)

If you click on the bottle to enlarge it, you can better see the "subliminal seduction" graphics of money, death, and sex.
Memories... oh, the memories.

I also avoid the following places:  Starbucks, Darden owned restaurants, Dillard's, Hooters, Coast to Coast AM Streamlink, Publix (chain of yuppie grocery stores here in the south), Whole Foods, Macaroni Grill(e), Trader Joe's, Tim Horton's, Chipotle Mexican food(It's also crap Mexican food in addition to overpriced) and many others. Those places offer very little value for the money.
i said a brief prayer to god that you would include chipotle in this list... and you did.  i've never eaten there (or even SEEN a chipotle), but based on the people i hear recommending it, it sounds like a place where hipsters conglomerate to compare ipad apps and share recycling tips.  sounds absolutely ponderous.
