This is definitely NOT my kind of thread because I'm totally into women and their vaginas, not men.

Hello Liberace!

Any chance of this SMF Mod being implemented on Bellgab?   -> http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=3860

It is present on some other SMF boards and is very nice feature.  For example, I could type @brig You got that right and brig would get a mention
indication in her profile that I called her attention to my post.

@Walks_At_Night It should be working now.

You did it like a dozen times, for ever more increasingly inane and bullshit reasons. And they're all so forgettable? Sure, okay, lol. What loyalty!

I'll allow it.

You haven't been banned for anything in years. Good thing you don't hold grudges.

In other words, is there any peace in your life at all?

The answer to that is pretty much, "No."

So no show again tonight? Methinks this might no longer be a thing. KCAA dropped the show, didn't it?

Ooooooh, Dave makes the Time Traveler "Club" sound so sexy.   ::)

But I already belong to the 700 Club. How can I belong to two clubs? It's that even allowed?

Why do you not want to tell me?

Why do you assume I have a prepared list to provide you three years after?

I'm still looking forward to that list of people who whined at you to ban me. Care for a beverage?

Why should you care who it was?

Interesting topic. How can Roland and Schrader make enough bank to justify the time they put into it?
I assume the Producer is not a volunteer either.  Seems like you would need at least 1,500 subscribers
at $5 a month to make it even worthwhile.    :-\

I understand it's proprietary information, but I wish they'd tell everyone how many subscribers they have. That would tell all.

Recently, I've been wondering:  How are things going with Dave Schrader's version of MITD?  Is he growing an audience of any significance?  Is it enough to sustain any kind of business model?  Is there any buzz beyond the usual pockets of interest (like this forum)?  Although I do personally like Dave, I just don't have time to squeeze his show into my daily listening routine.  My life is pretty much kids, work, etc., so I'm effectively cut off from gauging the temperature of the whole thing from a listener perspective.

There aren't really any publicly viewable metrics for determining how Dave Schrader's show is doing after all of these months (unless someone has ShoutCast/IceCast numbers), so I thought I'd look around and see if I can at least get a general picture based on data that can be publicly evaluated.  Let's look at some FB pages.

This looks to be Dave's official FB page:
https://www.facebook.com/DarknessDaveSchrader/?ref=br_rs
There is almost zero engagement.  Scroll down and look at the numbers of reactions/shares/comments under each post.  Even if you go back to posts that have stewed for weeks, it's unusual to see the reactions break twenty.  Very rarely is there more than a comment or two, as most have zero.  This is rather lackluster for a page that's been liked 8,400 times.

And here's the page for Dave's other show, Beyond The Darkness:
https://www.facebook.com/BeyondTheDarknessRadio/?ref=br_rs
This page has 6,500 likes.  It might have slightly more engagement than the page above, but it's pretty much more of the same.

Here's what looks like the official Midnight In The Desert FB page:
https://www.facebook.com/MidnightInTheDesertCom/?ref=br_rs
Only 4,100 likes on this one, which is odd since I'd expect it to beat the other two pages in likes due to Art Bell's prior involvement.  Engagement on this page is even worse than the other two.

I'm not posting this as a knock on Dave Schrader.  I'm merely asking the question, "What in the hell is going on here?"  This doesn't look like any sort of operation that's gaining traction or growing after all of these months.  I haven't looked into it at all, but my gut is telling me Heather Wade probably inspired far more social media engagement as host of MITD (albeit often for the wrong reasons).

So is this thing failing?  Or is social media a bad indicator of the show's success?

Has Midnight In The Desert moved beyond KNYE in the terrestrial affiliate department?  And I don't even count KNYE as a bragging point for MITD because I think Karen Jackson put Dave on her station purely to spite Heather in the best way she knew how.

This just doesn't smell like a robust, successful operation with lots of potential.  If it hasn't yet started to break out and gain traction beyond the usual circles of humanity, will it ever?

An old Dark Weekend City popped up on my soundcloud. The AI's at work. I forgot how good Steve was and laughed when I thought how he was lucky, or made good decision, to avoid the hot mess and people that  came from the ex-Art radio shows!!  Come back Bateman and put out some new material.  Or not, but good luck in whatever endeavor Steve. Had some good shows and you avoided the craziness for the most part.

https://soundcloud.com/darkcityfm

Bateman's appearance with Heather Wade on The GabCast certainly provided the forum with years of catchphrases and memories, didn't it?

#RattleYourCage

Heather called in to the GC that night with a specific purpose in mind.  She was annoyed by numerous comments Bateman (Steve Werner) had posted on the forum, which she perceived to be slights.  She wanted to go on the GC and talk about it, but she wanted my opinion as to whether she should.  We talked for about an hour and OF COURSE I told her she should go on the GC and let it rip (heh heh), but I told her she'd need to individually list Bateman's offending posts if she's going to publicly air the grievance.  She went on the GC but didn't follow my other advice to specifically list his posts.  It's one of the things that made her come off sounding like a crazy woman punching into the air at a phantom nobody else can see.

But why did she expect loyalty from Steve, anyway?  Hearing what he had to say about her prior behavior with him, I think he displayed an admirable amount of restraint toward her on this forum.
He could have burned her so much more soundly than he ever did.

That GabCast episode marked one of the first times her mental instability was revealed to the general public.  It was right there in the store front window for all to see.

Art Bell dutifully listened to every second of that show as it happened.

Ok, so I heard this Dwindling Stacks guy talk about his short time hanging out w/HW years ago when HW was at the car dealership...

Then, I learn about HW recently posting all these so called "sexy" photos, BUT where the hell are these photos? Not in this thread? Not on her FB. So, what happened?

These pics must be gold considering her ONE PIC history. WTF???

Where are these photos? No BG person saved and posted these yet??? WTF?

HW's train wreck with our rubber necking has come and gone? It's weird her photos aren't everywhere considering her one photo history. Has she crashed and burned... w/her sex photos???

the photos are all over this thread.  just look around and you'll find them.

Mind you, I'm not thanking him as a commentary on the individual seen in the pictures.  To be clear.

How To Use BellGab / Re: Clicking Ads

When I click ads in EG, it opens in new tab.  Can I do that here?

It should work the same way here. You could always hold the Ctrl key when clicking.

Sounds a lot like what MV said when he and Daryll spent hour after hour trashing Heather.  "But we are not here not trash her.  Just to respond to accusations made against us."  ::)

Who would Ghost-Art sue first?

I think ghost-Art should sue me because BellGab.

BellGab brought him back on the air twice (which he came to regret each time), BellGab ran the promotion of his show, BellGab provided half of his staff including Heather, BellGab collectively vomited when he left the air again (and for the last time) which stressed him out and potentially affected his well being, and BellGab drove his replacement host to post photos of her rectum on the internet (scorched earth/fuck it).

BellGab!

In life he threatened to sue me on a couple occasions, so why change in death?

I still absolutely fucking hate it.

I need--need--a product key for Windows 7 Professional N English. Do any of you have one lying around, or know where I can actually buy one? Searching is difficult these days.

You can buy a 7 Pro product key on eBay for about four bucks.  I can send you a disk image for Win 7.

Speaking of which, there was a great discussion of the stalker.  In the posts I saw before the interview Eberhardt sounded like he doubted the whole thing but, in the context of the stalker discussion, Keef brought up a guy promoting a low-budget movie on Art's show who was unhappy with ad results.

I thought this was Asshat since he basically rearranged his life to be on that show A Long-Thighed Knight and lived somewhere down there but on yesterday's Bartcast was corrected:  they meant J. Neil Schulman:

My memory is fuzzy but it seems to me Eberhardt confirmed he was upset at Art.

I don't remember anything about this guy except him saying people threw rocks at him in school and fighting with Asshat on the air when that whole thing imploded.  Schulman did seem to have a lot at stake in Art's enterprise.  Does this seem likely, or did Art just pick an unsympathetic character to blame?

Schulman has an account here.  Someone could just message him and see if he'll come on the forum to discuss these scurrilous accusations.

You should stop listening to him.  This can't be healthy for you.

The only great host after Art on C2C in the day was JBW.  He changed unfortunately, during the course of doing his own show.

I never got into John B. Wells at all.  By the time he came along, I was "well" finished with Coast to Coast AM.  I always thought Ian Punnett was the best non-Art host.  He's the only one I have any nostalgic feelings for.  He should have been given the show instead of Mike Siegel.  However, Art always selected replacement hosts who were clearly inferior (every.  single.  time.).  Smart branding move.
