Let's see how Ian handles the topic of 'superhero physics' tonight. Could be gold. Most likely will not be, though.

I think I'm a sadist for wanting to listen to this.

I'll tune into the first hour, but after that I'm going to bed. heheh  The topic sounds rather silly.

I watch Fringe, The Event and House regularly, plus Dog Whisperer, all on Hulu. I bought a Roku ($75 or so with shipping) to control my Hulu/Netflicks and a bunch of other internet sites through my TV, so now I pickup the newscasts and shows I want the day after they play on live TV, scrolling around with a remote.
The Roku is totally worth it.  Michael and I both bought one last year.  Tons of free content is available.

Which means I only pay $29.95/mo for the broadband through AT&T (as opposed to the almost $80.00 that Comcast wanted for essentially the same thing and thats for 3mbps. You want 5, you pay $5 more.

Damn, Comcast is expensive in your market.

I think cable tv and satellite is a waste of money anymore.

One question - what IS IT with this new fashion for hats worn on the FOREHEAD?  While the hats themselves are kinda cool - the way they are worn is - well - judge for yourself:

Random Topics / Re: I Need Airfare Help!!!!

   Michael,
I just searched again, and was not able to get that price for the dates I had searched previously.  I was searching from 06/29 till  08/17.   I use www.kayak.com to do a lot of searching.

I did some searching after the summer period.  I found a short duration ticket for 1260, and then found a longer term (58 days) from 10/12 till 12/17 for 1327. Still a little higher than what you had in mind.

Perhaps the airlines are waiting to find out how many people are willing to pay $1700 for a ticket before they reprice.  I hope this has been helpful.

  Michael,

I am not sure about the North African market, however, I do regularly search fares for another region of the world.  It is summer so prices will be higher than most any other time of the year.  My best advice is to keep searching.  I've seen prices really high one day, and then, bam, the next day they'll drop the price 400 bucks.  International airfares are very difficult to predict.

Okay, so I have done several searches with different dates within the summer time frame.  All of them come out at about the same (1700).  I did find one fare on Iberia for 1530.  Looks like that market is pretty tight.    What have you paid previously?

I listen to Hannity if there is nothing else on.  I found his show to be bland Republican talking points with very little independent thinking going on.  When he got his own show on Fox News the only segment I bothered with was the round table discussion.  Oh, and the perfunctory, "You're a great American.", makes me want to puke.

AH this must be me remembering Art letting some of the affiliate's listeners know what was going on if they weren't getting the full five
I loved how Art was so candid and open about the running of the show.

@ Ana ... i like to think of Mormonism as the Ol' Timey Scientology.  they're just as crazy except they got a much earlier start at being crazy

What makes Mormons any more or less crazy than any other set of religionists?

it would only be fair if you modify the tread title to:
IAN PUNNETT SUCKS! -
it's unfair to have only George Noory suck, and imho Ian sucks way more than George.

Actually there is a anti-Punnett thread, so please feel free to post your negative thoughts on him there.  I happen to like Punnett most of the time.  He generally asks apt questions, and comments just the same.  Yes, sometimes he jumps to conclusions, or is slightly more combative then I like.

What I really don't like is Skype's decision to remove the ability to find random people to chat/talk with.

No, I am not sick of it.  It is part of the show.  It is much easier to have a recording giving out the numbers.  Also, I like listening to the hourly news updates.

UPDATE:  Skype version 5 sucks even more.

you sure do love the classics.  i can't get nabila to watch ANY movie that's old or filmed in b&w.  she doesn't know what she's missing.

I have come across people that share nabila's sentiment.  I can't understand it.  They really do miss some of the rich treasures of the cinema.

I get crap all the time from Comcast wanting me to sign up with their cable service.  Their Internet service is all I need.   I canceled my Dish Network in February, and have never looked back.  Roku keeps getting better.  Loads of new channels have appeared since I bought one earlier this year.
It is possible to listen to the Coastgab stream using Roku via the Shoutcast channel and the Tunein Radio channel.

Thanks for the new Fox News stream.  It will be nice to watch some of those shows again
