It doesn't take much nowadays.

Listened last night because I'll listen to anything Zodiac Killer related. Syrett did not impress me at all.

Holy crap, haven't seen you post here in a blue moon!  Welcome back, Tao!

Thanks! Didn't think anyone remembered.

I stumbled across John B Smells firing and realized I hadn't checked in here since the Dark Matter/Sirius debacle.

In all seriousness, I really expected to read of his passing when I saw this thread reactivated.

I fully expect him to croak on the air and the show to run another three weeks after completely unawares.

If you think that's funny, wait until you see what John B. Wells has posted on his site about it.

Oh, yeah, that's what I stumbled across while trying to find out what led to him getting canned, except not on his site per se. It wasn't until halfway through I realized HE BLEEPING WROTE IT. Guy was a total con artist.

I just found out they got rid of John B Smells in February. Funny stuff. I thought he sucked hard. Another half-baked RW conspiracy nut. Man, radio doesn't have enough of those, dude.

Imus should have hung it up 15 years ago. I say this as someone who grew up a huge fan of his. Even his newsman Charles McCord knew it was time to get out, but Imus can't take a hint.

He looks like a near death Katherine Hepburn in a cowboy hat.

John Depetro is a complete scumbag, and the main reason talk radio in Rhode Island is in the state it's in. Unlistenable.

Whoa, whoa, what???

John B Smells actually put Sean David Morton on the air?

Now I hate this right-wing douchebag even more.

Edit: went on Morton's show....still mind blowing. Some cred you have, Wells.

I miss Ian. Was sad to find out he couldn't even keep up with the odd Sunday show. Still the only C2C host who twice compelled me with a guest interview to buy their books.

I like Schrader on Darkness Radio. He's a good host.

I did not listen to the Chris Lutz Quarrentino episode, because quite frankly that kid annoys me. He always sounds stoned, gave Ian a hard time a few years ago, and I think a CoastGabber once mentioned he knew someone who knew him and he had pretty much admitted he would do whatever he could to make some money off the story.

I've been away for awhile, but was compelled to come back to say I will miss Ian. I kinda forgot about him and lost track when he went down to one Sunday a month. I tuned in a couple months back only to hear he was winding it down. I enjoyed his Saturday night show and his Friday fill-ins. He's the only C2C host that put on a compelling enough interview that I bought his guest's book (two separate occasions). Sure there were times he got a bit uppity and a little too sarcastic, but overall he was the best host they had the last couple years (Knapp is good, but again Sunday nights are tough for me to listen to because I'm not working the 3rd shift those nights). John B Wells just plain sucks....a deep voiced Alex Jones right-wing bible thumper does not interest me.

That longtime regular caller Bill from West Hartford just got on the air again tonight in the first hour of c2c.
Bill reminded again that he is an athiest, so he always calls in when a guest is talking about god, so he can oppose them...
Bill still thinks by calling in to radio talk shows that will impress a girl to go out with him.
But so far in his 60+ years that hasn't worked.  8)

Always loved it when Ian would saracstically reply "Really.....didn't know that Bill".......I miss Ian.

Also, fuck Jerry Corsi.

George is alleged to throw softballs.  John B. came out pitching hard and almost knocked the batter with the ball, conversation.  He might be confrontational, but George gets knocked up for being nonconfrontational.

George gets knocked around for being totally unprepared for his guests and not listening to a word they say. It's why they can spew bullshit, because he doesn't hear it.

Back to Wells, I seem to recall someone posting he said he doesn't want to take calls from atheists? He doesn't trust them, or "jive" with them or whatever he thinks is a hep-cat buzzword nowadays. Look, despite whatever Christians think about their being "discriminated" against.......Christianity is still the mainstream in this country. And here is a host on a show that historically has been about being slightly outside the mainstream telling atheists they are not welcome, and turning an interview into a shit show because he obviously was pissed having to talk to one of those damn atheists......the show is now no better than the usual talk show garbage pushed during the day....

No Ian, we won't. I'm already done with John Bleat Wells.

Eventually George actually gets around to the subject of "evidence." It went like this:
George: "Lets talk about evidence. What's out there that you find compelling?"
Pat: "It's all around us. We just have to open our eyes and see it."
George: "It is out there, isn't it?"
     Pat: "Yeah."
     George: "Yeah."

Finally, a guest who speaks to George's level.

Now the Birthers will have to change all of their 'DEPORT  OBAMA' bumper stickers and coffee mugs to 'TELEPORT OBAMA.'  Their logic will be, why send him to another country when we can get his azz to Mars.

Being that George still entertains the birther nonsense and frequently quotes World Nut Daily as his trusted news source, you're more correct than you think.

Noory taking some more time off, eh? Maybe his father's death got him to think he should live life more.

Hayworth had a show on XM radio lol. I think he had to beg for a radio gig because he failed at unseating John McCain in the last Senate election......

I think he started out as a radio talker, even before he was a Congressman, which he got bounced from as well.

soooo... i guess in your mind, the appropriate response when challenging criticism of obama is to dangle bush's name in the discussion?  who said i support bush?  why is it that every time someone on this forum defends obama, they do so by mentioning what a piece of shit bush was?  you assume too much.  i'm no bush cheerleader, and few are.  this is a really weak debate tactic that i see employed incessantly.  criticism of the douche who now serves as our president does not obligate me to defend bush, nor would i.  let's get that straight.

Okay. Fair enough. But I notice you ignored the rest of what I said.

I see two possibilities here:
1) We're just out of sync with millions of CTC listeners, or...

This.

Because millions of CTC listeners need serious, serious help. This became clear to me during the prediction shows this past weekend. Unfortunately, unlike Ian, Noory enables these idiots with his willingness to entertain any stupid theory.

Someone called up and said if Ian recovered, maybe he could take back the spot. Ian laughed and said he wasn't going to pull a Jay Leno and he wouldn't steal someone's spot back after he gave it up of his own volition. It was not during his closing comments.

I would not read much into anything. I absolutely feel Ian will be on the second Sunday, and maybe an occasional night filling in for Snoor when he takes a vacation, for a while to come.

Another great show with plenty of whacko callers.

Ian was clearly kidding about the being done forever....."I'm gone....forever......until January 8th." Good stuff. I hope he does fill in for Snoor now and then, and I'd really like the prediction show to be his.

Yeah, because mentioning "Zionists" must ABSOLUTELY mean that someone's an anti-semite, right? Pffff, gimme a break man.

Yeah....you're right man........bringing up the Jewish mayor of Chicago (Pretty dumb zionist doing this NOW, considering he once was White House Chief of Staff) claiming he was somehow going to be the one to take all of America's guns away (and protect the country's wolves while he's at it???  :o ) .....total coinkidink.   ::)

Ian was awesome last night. Especially the way he tried to pump up the guy down on his luck, and then handled that right-wing anti-semite fucktard who called in. My HOPE is that guy drives off a cliff.

Glad we have one more night at least......
