Great show! Yeah, he definitely needs to come back.
I bet next time will be even better, maybe even a 9.5, lol.
Great gabbers as usual, night all.
Best new guest in years. With a bit more time to build the relationship, this could be a "10".  I may or may not STFU until it becomes a 10.  No promises.

Hope that helps give you some insights.
It does give me some insight into how you approached the interview. As far as not being able to please everyone, that's always going to be true.  If you infer that I'm unhappy with the guest, that's definitely not the case.  In the world of paranormal radio, this guy is exceptional.  I hope you have him back soon, and I'd appreciate it if he had a little more breathing room.  That approach would undoubtedly make someone else unhappy, but I trust you can survive the critique.

Yes, fair enough. But I'm still gonna give Dave an 8.5 on this particularly tough interview, on the Noory-Art Scale.  ;)
No argument from me there, Zenman :)

You convinced me that I should listen to this show tomorrow, so I will, when I have time.
He's an unusually good guest, brig. I think you'll enjoy.

Art would have cast an urgent and dark feeling. The reason being that it may be real.
This could have been one of those classic shows.  Dave's pushing back harder on this guest than he does on a big foot expert and it's getting in the way, at least for me.  He and Gallagher aren't having much of a conversation.

I don't know, I think Dave's just trying to keep it light. I don't feel that he's treating the subject or guest with any disrespect. This type of discussion can become a complete downer if treated too seriously. Personally, it's more pleasant and entertaining for me if it doesn't get real heavy.
I get that, really I do.  But, personally I preferrred the way Art interviewed someone like Malachi Martin. It didn't matter that Art certainly disagreed with a lot of Martin's beliefs.  Still, he didn't let that get in the way of helping Martin tell his own story.  Clearly Dave is doing a much better job of this than someone like, say, Noory would do.

Whatever one's personal beliefs, this guy (Roger Gallagher) is a serious academic with more experience in this field than anyone I've heard since Malachi Martin.  I feel bad saying this, but it's the first time Good Dave has sounded out of his depth in an interview.  It's making me wish Art Bell had been able to interview Gallagher.  The man has a story to tell and he needs some help telling it.  I cringed when Dave came back from break doing his evil voice and cracking jokes.  Oh, and a psychiatrist would never call a patient a "whackadoodle" as Dave just did.

One of my favs! :)
Mine too.  William Hurt's character, and a lot of the premise, was based on John Lily's work.

G'nite all.

What I'm hearing tonight mostly reminds me of Dr. John Lily's research (before he got so completely enscrewed with his ketamine experiments conducted in sensory deprivation tanks).

Mr Winnie shouldn't feel bad if bellgab doesn't represent.  In the days of Art Bell on Sirius and on MITD, bellgabbers were relatively infrequent callers.  The few times Art got a lot of phone calls from bellgab were when he asked people to call in and share their paranormal or scary stories.

He could get by with "feb", as he usually does.  But, ol' Gort wouldn't tolerate him getting away with "kla".

Bwah!  It would be funny if his life depended on being able to pronounce "klaatu barada nikto" correctly.

Dave Schrader will be a host on The GabCast June 7.
An actual host, not a guest?  Will he be co-hosting with you, MV?

I think the movie is so creepy mainly because Railsback nails it. He IS Manson. I remember actually getting the chills a couple times while watching it.
I always got freaked out seeing videos of Manson's jailhouse interviews.

Scared the hell out of me!
I haven't seen the film, but the book was creepy AF.

Steve Railsback as Manson...I was freightened when I watched that movie as a kid...very scary.
I haven't seen it, but will keep an eye out for it.  I've heard that Spahn Ranch is extremely haunted.  I knew a guy that filmed a music video there at night and said he'd never go back.
