Now the politicians are taking credit for their self-described excellent work.

NYC Police Commissioner Bill Bratton says it is an ISIS inspired attack.

Update - AP now reports only the bomber was injured, and that he had the bomb strapped to himself.

3
There's been an explosion in a subway in NYC near Times Squarae, reports of a bomb at the Port Authority. Have at it theorists of all shades.

Update - Police are now saying the bomb went off prematurely, injuring the bomber who is in custody. Said bomber was wearing what might be a suicide vest.

I’ve now watched the first episode. Not bad for the History Channel. One thing I caught that the show didn’t mention - he caught his first victims by disabling their cars. From the photos shown, both were Volkswagens. One standard, the other a Karmen Ghia.

With Roy Moore, one thing that’s forgotten is that in the 70s and into the mid-80s, an 18-year old was an adult. He or she could buy alcohol, guns, cigarettes, vote and be drafted (while there was a draft). 18-year olds were not considered precious snowflakes.

I had to put on a pair of long britches yesterday, but today, it's back to shorts.
Here's my favorite.

What no mention of David Niven (or the cast of others who played 007 in an attempt to fool the bad guys" in "Casino Royale?")
Exactly. My favorite Bond movie.

Thanks for the reminder. I'll have to catch up online. I've always wondered why, if they were able to decipher the first message, they can't decipher the rest. Unless he used a different code for each message.

IMHO, the only History Channel investigation that has added anything to history is their series on the Lost Colony. And here they seemed to stumble into finding information by asking in the correct experts.

Thanks. I went into Services and the only Adobe service running automatically on startup was something called Adobe Active File Monitor. I reset that to manual and rebooted. Bridge still started up.
Thanks for your help. I'm far too busy a man to wait an extra minute and a half for my computer to boot, Bridge to boot, then close out Bridge.

I've searched the Internet and find no answer, so I turn to the geniuses at Bellgab. I'm running a Win10 laptop and have a bunch of Adobe programs installed (CS5.5). I've used this computer for about 9-months. Starting last week, whenever the computer starts up, Adobe Bridge launches. I had not changed anything - but there was a big Microsoft "upgrade" at about this time.  I've gone into Task Manager/Startup and disabled everything with Adobe in it.  Bridge still starts. While some of the older versions of Bridge had an "Open on Startup" check box in Preferences, this version does not.
How do I stop Bridge from opening on startup?

Sheila Jackson Lee also testified in favor of fellow Congressional Black Caucus member and convicted crook Corrine Brown (D-Fl) who is on her way to the pokey for five years. Corrine set up a fake charity supposedly to help educate poor children, but which actually funded a lavish lifestyle for herself. “Corrine Delivers” was always her campaign slogan.

Did anyone experience the closing song tonight from the holiday CD?
It was horrible.
I noticed that sNoory has adapted an new, authoritative “Umm-hmm” that he inserts into the guest’s ramblings.

I’ll hear him again in a month.

Iran has a long-standing relationship with Venezuela. It has built a tractor plant there and a cement factory.  If they were to build a missle base, about half of the US would be in range of missles they had a decade ago.

Lauer ruined his career by pissing off Hillary. I think we can count him as a victim of Arkanicide.

I listened to a little of sNoory’s Kennedy assassination show last night. He was clearly excited and interested in the topic. He asked questions that did not seem to be from 3x5 cards. He was worse than ever.

The Jaguars last three first round draft choice quarterbacks will all participate in Sunday’s game in Arizona. Byron Leftwich is the Cardinal’s quarterback coach, Blaine Gabbert will start for the Cardinals, and Blake Bortles will start for the Jaguars. All have been disappointments.

So (ha) an armed citizen, probably an evil NRA member, engaged the shooter, who dropped his weapon and ran away.
