I just watched "Being Evel", the biopic about Evel Knievel. It's a pretty well rounded view of the rascally true blue American daredevil/hero. I particularly enjoyed the scenes of the pandemonium at the Snake River Canyon stunt. I was there, 13 yrs old. Pretty wild stuff.

Belated thought:
Was it wise for pate to go out on a beer run as smashed as he was?

He should definitely be back by now.

Do you at least have a peace sign or pot leaf symbol hanging from the rear-view mirror?

Every mercedes has a peace sign.

Since no more private PMs  I will post here. Have you tried my "experiment" proposed, not done, of dosing someone, or self, without knowledge? My idea is that dreams might seem "normal." Or not. Caveat only willing people but, willing, at some point doses before regular sleep. And what happens?

Not sure about the not knowing part but I've fallen asleep many times whilst at the end of mescaline and there is definitely a thickening to the juicy meaningfulness of the dream sandwich.

I disagree.  One reason for telling a different story might be that, in Karen's version, Art would be expected to identify the person, possibly leading to an arrest and testimony.

The conflicting stories make sense if the guy was a known local with a quasi-legitimate beef they thought they could handle and Art was protecting him because he kinda felt guilty and sorry for him because he sold what little possessions he had advertise his movie about a long-thighed knight on Art's show and to hire an asshat to do a lame show on Art's network and who recently expired on a friend's sofa.

Hey K_Dubb, that is accurate!

Kind of related...
I worked for about a year as an insectary technician cultivating maggots. I know that sounds like some made up junk but, the maggots were actually grown as food for tiny predatory wasps used for natural fly control. Over 5 million maggots in production each day. Pupated maggots which had been infected with wasp eggs sent as a subscription service to equestrian facilities and whatnot. It was the strangest job I ever had. Walking into the breeding room with thousands of Musca domestica clouding the air was especially intense. The first day on the job the dude who was training me suggested that I should not enter into that room stoned. So the next day I did- not for the feint of heart. But just like any other job, you eventually adjust to the horror of the thing. One of my buds who worked there ended up getting hired as a butterfly breeder for one of those touristy butterfly farm dealeos. How's that for a left turn from the grisly world of maggots back into the beauty of butterflies for a finish?

Aldous

Ding!
For several years my ride was a '64 International 30' bus with kitchen, shower, dining area, office, and bedroom with a deck. Small block with split-shift differential gave 9mpg regardless of city or highway. It was one of the most smoothly driving rigs I've ever driven making coast to coast journeys a pleasure. I've owned several RV's since then but none approached the level of joy that trusty old hippie bus seemed to have built into it.

My good sir, shouldn't you be busy girding the bellgab loins in preparation for the phalanx of lawyers and their cease and desist orders of evisceration which now surely come this way?

From my local police report:

11:47 a.m. — A man from Sebastopol Road reported his neighbor attacked him as he was passing him, yelling that it was his fault that Trump was president and pounding on the hood of the vehicle. The neighbor was now lying in the road and not moving. A report was taken.

5:19 p.m. — A caller from La Barr Meadows and Dog Bar roads reported a reckless driver throwing marijuana cigarettes out the window.

9:10 p.m. — A woman from Long Point Road reported she intervened between two dogs that were attacking another animal and now she has metal sticking out of her face, a broken tooth and a broken nose. She needed medical attention, which was dispatched.

10:53 p.m. — A caller from Pine Knoll Court reported a man in her garage said he was on LSD and shoved and pushed her when she asked him to leave. He was trying to gain entry to the garage and had his shoes and two forks in his hands.

10:59 p.m. — A woman called to report she is Sam Walton of Wal-Mart, she is a property owner here and if the chief of police needs her to respond, she can. She sounded under the influence of a controlled substance.

The Air Force is the most patriotic of all the armed forces.
They are US AF.

I suggested a good high-power air rifle (the kind that approach a .22LR in effect, at least at closer range) and get some free meat but, technically, illegal but who would hear or know?

The turkey.

Syrett used this song as a bumper last night. Previously unknown by me. Something about the mood of it- I like it very much.
