Random Topics / Book Recommendations

Dreamers & Deceivers: Glenn Beck - First off, this is not conservative politics. Frankly, Iíve heard more criticism of Beck from conservatives of late than liberals anyway but this was a damn compelling read. Itís really more historical reportage of stories we all thought we knew but I assure you you donít...but you will after reading this excellent book. These are all stories where people either lied and got away with it but were found out years later or where people dreamed big but never quite realized that dream. I felt educated, entertained and at times even a little enlightened. Highly recommend! I found it at a discount book shop for $3 and feel I really got my moneyís worth out of this one.

Apparently, the newspaper The Capital Gazette's offices were just shot up. Multiple fatalities reported. It's also reported that the incident is now over.

First, just let me say that I'm a big fan of his so I hope I'm wrong but I can't deny that there are a number of facts supporting this theory now. I'm going to try to list them here:

1. Art was a BIG fan of CNN. In fact, I don't ever remember hearing him mention another news network. Maybe he did though.
2. Was involved in bringing to the public a number of scams and charlatans. The Heaven's Gate people and Ed Dames are often mentioned, etc.
3. Was adamant that he thought 9/11 wasn't an inside job but an "outside job," as he put it.
4. He's now publicizing Heather's trip to "try to break into Area 51" when there have been a couple of obviously fake "UFO" videos released by the government recently and there are whispers in the wind of a project bluebeam UFO psyop meant to steer us into a one world communist government, just like Reagan spoke of in several speeches (minus the communist part, of course).

If I'm missing anything let me know and let me know in general what you think. It's just a theory but I think I may be onto something here. ;)

Here he can pine for the bad old days when a bunch of unelected elitists who think most of us are shit ruled the land and idiots like him "debated" the two (one ;)) party political system with his fellow citizens

He can also call you a crazy conspiracy theorist if you ever doubt the establishment's veracity.

Also, tips for remaining oblivious in a world of information overload. ;)

Have at it 21st! ;D

Oh yeah, and the John McCain fan club too! (Lindsay Graham president)

Random Topics / Arguments For The Existence of God
« on: December 30, 2017, 07:46:54 PM »
I notice this comes up sometimes and came up recently so I thought there should be a thread about it. Theists, atheists and agnostics alike, let's get into it! Give your best argument as to why you believe in God or not. While it's great if you adhere to a certain religion and have a lot of passion for it I'd prefer this to be a thread just for rational arguments for or against the existence of God. So, please, no appeals to emotionalism (unless you can rationally justify it ;)). Or, perhaps you may come to the agnostic position that we can never know one way or the other and there are probably more important things to think about.

I'll start us off where all the biggies in Western Canon start, St. Anselm's ontological argument for the existence of God and we'll go from there. It essentially can be crystalized in the following statements (which I just took from Wikipedia):

There are different reconstructions of the argument, for example (after Dr. Scott H. Moore's analysis):

- One can imagine a being than which none greater can be conceived.
- We know that existence in reality is greater than existence in the mind alone.
- If the being we imagine exists only in our mind, then it is not a "being than which none greater can be conceived".
- A being than which none greater can be conceived must also exist in reality.
- Failure to exist in reality would be failure to be a being than which none greater can be conceived.
- Thus a being than which none greater can be conceived must exist, and we call this being God.

Politics / Fox News Corp's Deep State Dick Munchers
« on: June 21, 2017, 06:43:01 PM »
I'm starting this thread out of frustration and to clearly identify those on Fox News with a deep state agenda.

1. Chris Stirewalt - This guy gets in a froth over every single rumor leaked about Trump. He practically drools and smacks his lips while talking about them and they always turn out to be nothing. It's pathetic...and he's Fox News politics editor.  ::)

2. Dana Perino - She's Republican but Bush Republican. In other words she would've preferred a Hillary win to Trump. Anything to keep the deep state's plans going. The evidence of this is that no matter how much evidence she's presented with that the Trump/Russia thing is a witch hunt she still always concludes her talking point with the typical Well, the one thing everyone agrees on is that there was Russian interference and the investigation will continue because we need to get to the bottom of it. Really?! Is this crazy dog woman running the country now?! Oh, right. She's just a mouthpiece for the Bush/Clinton mob.  ::)

I'm sure there are others but these are the two on that network that bug me the most.

Politics / Will There Be An Alternative To The Google/YouTube Empire?
« on: March 26, 2017, 03:05:21 PM »
Once again, it seems that what we took for granted as our social media tools are actually being turned against us, not just to monitor us but to censor and control the very content of what we can share with each other now. I hate the people who are doing this and want an alternative...but will there be one? And even if some independent-minded individuals create this what's to stop the incredibly rich, Leviathan monster from just buying it up and starting over? They keep trying to corral us and we keep trying to break out. Cat and mouse forever? Ideas?

Random Topics / Soundtracks
« on: January 06, 2017, 01:38:17 AM »
I'm in a soundtrack kinda mood these days. The Stranger Things theme song set me off because it reminded me of Tangerine Dream. I've been reviewing the TV show Amazing Stories the past couple months and I love the soundtrack. The main theme is very dreamily hopeful. I wish I could find it but no luck so far. I noticed it said Pat Metheny for the music credit. I know him mostly for his jazz fusion guitar playing but this was orchestral music. I wonder if it's the same guy? Anyway, I plan on compiling a sort of best of soundtrack music CD and would love suggestions for what you think is great soundtrack music. It doesn't have to be exclusively from movies and TV though. Some are really into video game soundtracks too. Hit me with your best shot. Fire away!  ;)

OK, bare with me here. I think it will be worth it.  ;)

If people dare to discuss conspiracy theories others will often brush it off by telling them to go put on their tinfoil hat. However, the science behind why one would wear a tinfoil hat is sound. Aluminum is a non-conductive metal. So, if you were trying to protect yourself from electricity or some sort of directed energy beam it would be a good choice of material to use. Then I thought about the Tommy Copper knee brace I sometimes use that is, apparently, infused with copper throughout the fabric. Well, if that's possible then surely an aluminum infused hat of some sort should be possible. It would just look like a normal hat but only you would know it's actually tinfoil. Think of the commercial possibilities of such an item. If I had the time, inclination and energy to do it I might try myself but I'm too busy with other things lately. Someone should do this though. I want my fashionable tinfoil toque!  ;)

Radio and Podcasts / Late Night Talk Radio Malaise
« on: December 16, 2016, 01:59:43 AM »
Art's show melted down and we all had some lolz over that. Some of us tried our best to give Heather a shot but she just didn't pan out in comparison. Hoagie's show became increasingly sporadic until he stopped broadcasting altogether awhile back. Many held out hope that bateman would be the new Art Bell but even he stopped doing his show around the same time. Amy's show is often great but even she is down to 3 nights a week with many of them being cancelled for various reasons, none of which I hold against her. Nonetheless, here we are, with all the election hoopla dying down even Bellgab is starting to become somewhat dormant. I'm not sure where I'm going with this but I thought I'd open the floor to suggestions or just general bitching and shitposting.  ;)

Random Topics / Shaving
« on: November 29, 2016, 05:31:00 AM »
I really hate shaving. I have sensitive skin I guess because I usually can't get through a shave without a nick or two. I suppose choice of razor and shaving cream can make some difference but if I could take a pill that would stop the growth of my facial hair and had no side effects and left me unchanged in every other way I would. So, I thought I'd open this thread to all who want to bitch and/or share suggestions for products and techniques. This includes you too, ladies.  ;)

Right now I've been using this stuff from Italy called Proraso. It's a little pricey but really slicks your face up. I find it's helping reduce the amount of nicks.

Random Topics / The Blacklist
« on: November 22, 2016, 01:53:07 AM »
I'm a big fan of this show! I keep expecting it to run out of steam and it never does. It just keeps getting better. Great writing, acting, everything! It centers around an espionage criminal who's on the top of the FBI's most wanted list and now working with them to take down all the other criminals on his blacklist. Each episode deals with one of these. Like The X-Files, it often touches on fantastic things that may have more than a glint of truth to them. You don't have to watch it from the beginning but I'd highly recommend it as there is an unfolding story arc. It's about a third of the way through season 4 right now and, like I said, no sign of any loss of momentum. Check it out if it fits your bill.

Politics / Monarchy: It's Relevance in the 21st Century?
« on: November 10, 2016, 03:13:57 PM »
If you've read any of my previous post it's probably no surprise to you that I think not at all. They seem to be a bastion of elitism, snobbery and just downright creepy weirdness. They're also some of the biggest arms dealers in the world and are often found to be the motivating factor in wars and conflicts. Sure, we're going down a rabbit hole here but given what we've witnessed of the mainstream media lately I'd say there's probably more truth to be found in rabbit holes now.  ;)

Discuss! (I already know what you'll say, pud  ::) :D)
