How awesome was this trailer? I more excited about this movie than I am for the rest of the new trilogy.

Welcome back banned Bellgabbers.

Please complete your triumphant returns by saying hi to all the people you may have pissed off in the past.

Perhaps a quick reminder of why you were banned in the first place.

Who do you guys think should be the first guest on the new show? Would you prefer a night of open lines?

Paranormal - Conspiracy - UFOs - Etc. / Ghost Aircraft
January 19, 2015, 11:43:05 PM
Anyone ever seen any ghost aircraft?

I once had an experience where I saw a really old and loud aircraft flying low over a cornfield on our farm in the early 60s. It flew into a low cloud and then the noise stopped and the aircraft never came out the other side. This has baffled me for a long time and as I was a kid at the time I could never blame it on the alcohol.

The only other witness to this event is now dead.

Can you remember the first time you heard Art? What were you doing at the time? Were you driving along the lonely interstates of this great country? Were you scanning the AM dials whilst driving the turnpike? Did you stumble upon the great man from the Kingdom of Nye whilst flying down the highways of this great land? I know I did.

I was driving somewhere along a stretch of I-90 one lonely moonless night. I was scanning the AM dials trying to find something interesting to listen to and happened upon a voice that just jumped out at me and kinda hooked me right in. It was an open lines discussion and Art had a special open lines topic going on. I was enthralled and the rest is pretty much history.

So I happened upon Art whilst driving as I'm sure many of y'all did. So is Art alienating a large part of his audience that listen to him solely whilst driving by doing the show only on the internet?

Sure there are ways to listen to the show live in your car by streaming from your mobile device and then using an FM transmitter to get it on your car radio but there is a large section of the audience who aren't that savvy. My elderly father is a fan and he has no idea how to use a computer nor have the nous to use Bluetooth to stream from a phone to listen in his car. I'm sure he ain't the only one out there who is going to miss out on the new show further diminishing the potential audience.

I know that Art had a big problem with only receiving calls from truckers but these are the very people that he is potentially alienating by only streaming online. Is the audience going to be further diminished by only going down this route?

I believe that those that are not tech savvy, have little or no access to computers or listen primarily in the car or truck are going to be alienated by the delivery method of the new show further diminishing the potential audience of the new show.

Random Topics / The General Ravings of Curandero81

It sort of worked with Falkie so hopefully this lunatic can be contained to one thread to be ignored.

Congratulations Curandero81 this part of the asylum is all yours.

It seems that a lot of people here seem to poo poo a lot of the topics that used to feature on Art's show. Some I agree with others I don't and I don't get the people that write off everything as BS yet still listen.

Anyways, what do you guys think of the topic of Chemtrails? Were they BS too? Did you ever experience them. Is it still happening?

Politics / HAMAS taken off EU Terror List

This one absolutely baffles me.

Firing 3000 missiles at civilian targets from heavily populated civilian areas doesn't qualify these lunatics as terrorists according to the European Union? Go figure.

When will Europe wake up to the threat of Islamist terror?

It seems that there might be some negative connotations towards the name Dark Matter considering how that show ended. In that case do you think that Art should rebrand the show and go with a new fresh name or should he stick with Dark Matter?

I think change is good and I'd like to nominate the following:

Midnight in the Desert
The Art Bell Show
Dark Horizons
I can't believe what they did to my old show
George Noory Sucks

I thought this would be a good place for people to ask questions about past Coast topics that have either passed their use by date or simply just dropped off the radar.

So what ever happened to Gulf War Syndrome? Was it a bust? Was it ever explained? Have there been cases from the latest wars?

Also what happened to the Mayan calendar "experts"? Did they find new gigs after nothing happened of D-day?

Are there any guests you simply won't listen to? Which guests make you immediately turn off you radio or want to smash it with a hammer?

I just can't stand Ed Dames. I used to enjoy listening to him just to hear his BS and top see if Art would call him out for all his misses.  I always thought that Art was lenient on the guy and always seem to highlight any small ding dings he got without focusing on the bonks.

A close second would be Sean David Morton. Can't stand that asshole.

Hypocritical pieces of shit. I hope they all choke on the noxious fumes of their unwashed body odor.

So which guest is a "must listen"?

That is, a guest that you will drop everything for. For example, ditch a date (let's not get too crazy, no one here is getting a date), cancel dinner with grandma or miss your kids graduation. Are there any guests that compel you to do this?

For me it's the hard science types. These are few and far between on today's Coast but I always enjoyed Kaku and a few others.

Whether we believe in the paranormal or not and whether we now believe the tales that the guests that appear regularly on coast tell or not, we all have some affinity with the paranormal. So what topic was it that got you hooked?

For me it was ghosts. Since I was a young child I had a fascination with ghosts and ghost stories. I've never experienced anything myself but the topic still fascinates me and I used to looked forward to ghost to ghost every year to turn out the lights and listen to ghost stories. Only Art can effectively do that show. No other host had been able to capture the magic of that night.

So which paranormal topic got you into the field?
