I don't have any doubt that screenwriters were listening to Art Bell, especially during the 90's.  I can't count the number of times I've recognized a movie plot listening to old Dreamland or Coast shows.

You guys might get a kick out of "Lunopolis" playing on Netflix.  In the first few minutes it totally rips off one of Art's more famous callers.

Paranormal - Conspiracy - UFOs - Etc. / General "A"
July 29, 2014, 03:43:07 PM
Some time ago I reversed the voice modulation on 'Victor' and lo and behold it was Whitley Strieber

Surprise.  Surprise.

I thought I would do the same to General 'A' when I ran across him.
So, Here it is.  Some reverb in the recording but whoever it is does have a particular way of speaking.  I don't believe that he is one of the usuals.

Some of the things he says makes me think that he has never been military.  I have met a few two- and three-star generals and in all cases they have been exceptional men.  This guy is not one of them.

Radio and Podcasts / Victor Busted!
April 03, 2014, 08:27:03 AM
Some time ago we were discussing Victor's appearance with Art and whether or not 'Victor' was actually Whitley Strieber.  To me there wasn't a doubt, but there were a few people that actually didn't think that Victor was Whitley.

I had posted an idea to reverse modulate Victor's voice to see what it sounded like as a real person.  I did that this morning and attached the results.

Its totally Whitley!  Without a doubt.  The quality isn't perfect but the evidence is there.....

Archive of Old Threads / Alien Armageddon
November 21, 2013, 06:17:19 AM
So I turned on the movie 'Alien Armageddon' on NetFlix last night and was surprised to see Noory's name in the opening credits!

I was not surprised however that Noory would associate himself with what is without a doubt the worst movie ever made.

To be fair though, Noory's short part was probably the best thing in this dog.

Is there a Pro-Noory blog out there anywhere?

I'd be interested in seeing what people who are in Love with That Idiot Noory have to say.

Radio and Podcasts / Classic George Noory
May 29, 2009, 07:54:43 AM
It?s been a slow week over at Coast.  Monday was the psychic vampire which I turned off.  Later on Father Diamond (?) with his (incorrect conclusions on life and religion I believe) bored us for a couple of hours.  But Wednesday night's show picked up a bit with this classic exchange;

GN:  When you talk about the Great Waves of Change, to me that has a feeling of being very positive.  Am I taking that right?

Naturally, the response is something different that George had expected.

Marshall Summers: ? Well, the great waves will really alter the landscape of the world, and when we talk about the great waves of change just let me identify what I am specially referring to.
We are talking about:
Growing economic hardship, and political instability.
Declining energy and natural resources.
Climate change and unpredictable, and perhaps, catastrophic weather.
The loss of aritible land and fresh water, and escalating world conflicts over who will gain access to the remaining resources.?,

That doesn?t seem very positive at all.

George's instincts are the worst I have ever encountered.  Guests like Alex Jones are always stroking him about how good his 'Feelings' are and how 'Right On' he instinctively is....  I can only say that either they need to sell a lot of books or (better yet ) they are as lame as GN is.

Anyway, it was a good laugh.  The kind that keeps me coming back for more.

Who is the worst guest ever?

That a tough one for me.

I abhore that tedious windbag Lionel Winthrop (sp?)
Open Lines, or whenever they go to calls, is just so painful.

But, for me, the worst guest ever has got to be the Psychic Vampire.  Much worse then the Wiccans.

Just how damaged do you have to be, just how much attendion do you need, to want to go around to people and tell them that you need to feed off of their energy.

Didn't daddy hug you enough?

Radio and Podcasts / Art Bell Sunday night
May 19, 2009, 08:39:11 PM
I was looking forward to George Knapp this past Sunday.  I believe that he was supposed to be up for this weekend.  But was quite pleased to hear Art instead.  I wasn't suprised to hear that he was in th PI.  I suspect that he will stay there.  Quite frankly, with the way things are going here in the world I am planning a move there myself.  Planning still hasn't left the back of my mind though.

See if this rings true for you;

Guest:  ( speaking about geneticists that are currently creating "Alien" life right here on Earth. Telling Art that it is happening now through gene manipulation with no laws on the books or protocols to follow )

Art:  (Using the past hours' conversation and showing that he has paid attention for that last minute and a half, asks a well though-out question about the safty of creating such "Alien" life thus bringing the conversation forward to the logical  next step.)

Here is how it would have gone with Noory.  Someone tell me that I am wrong....

Guest:  ( speaking about geneticists that are currently creating "Alien" life right here on Earth. Telling Art that it is happening now through gene manipulation with no laws on the books or protocols to follow )

GN: "That's so weird!"

Someone tell me that I am wrong!  Poor George.  Poor, One dimensional George.

Seriously!  Do they need the extra income that badly that they have to ruin the website with all those detracting flashing and mouse-over ads?

At least they are progressing.  The old website looked like it was designed for Mosaic.  This new one, with the way they have the ads plastered everywhere, is only ten years out of date.

I will bet money that they did the new site in-house.  A mistake in my mind. Much like the government being the worst enity to solve the current financial crisis.  Since they, in fact, when the entire cause if it.  The new website should have been developed by an outsider.  Someone with a fresh perspective on things.

I swear to God that Noory once pronounced ?Rodriguez?,  rod?RE??qwez.

The biggest problem with George is that he has no depth whatsoever.

His ?interviews? don?t get much more challenging that an average 2th grader?s  inquisition.

The problem is that George doesn?t seem to have any real knowledge, of anything, at all.  I believe that that fact shines through by the sophomoric questions he asks.

This also holds true for his responses:  ?I Love It!?  and the ever popular ?That?so weird!?

One of the best examples of this I can think of happened just the other night with Zecharia Sitchin.  Here Noory has the grandfather of UFOlogy on for an interview and George digs down deep into his soul to ask  ?How old are you??
Just incredible!

CTC has gone way downhill since the departure of Art for the third time ( fourth time?).  Art had his problems and was certainly a drama queen, but he had a certain charm and could get to the heart of the matter with little prompting.

I like George Knapp, and even Ian.

George Noory on the other hand?.
How many non sequiturs can he produce in one night?
How many words will he pronounce incorrectly?
How many words will he use incorrectly?

(It would be a good drinking game except everyone would get so wasted so quickly.)

How many times will a guest ask if George is familiar with (something), George will say, ?Oh yeah.  Sure!?  When everyone listening knows damn well that George has no freaking idea what the guest is talking about.

George just doesn?t pay attention!
A guest will go on and on for several minutes about what he had to do to get where he was today.  The very next question from George?s mouth, ?How did you get your start??

Obviously, he reads his opening monologue cold.  If he would only take 5 minutes before the show to rehearse the script, maybe, just maybe, he would get through the entire thing with any mispronunciations or line flubs.

I about dropped a load when I heard him say that he does 8 hours of show prep before every show.

I always feel so embarrased for Noory when he tries to draw a comparrison to a movie.  Movies aren?t real George.  You loose all creadibility whenever you try to equate real life with fantasy.

Noory sems to be about as bright as the open line calls to the show.  Those people seem to be drooling morons.
