A stellar observation I must say.

I'm going to miss completely forgetting that the I Man had a show that probably got a solid asterisk in the ratings book. Where will aging country has beens go to now?(Delbert McClinton did have a hit as recently as 1980) Is Crook and Chase still on? That Nashville Network was good until them cosmopolitan New York types got their paws on it ;).

Apparently, his show has come to an end(babe) and it's barely registered ripple. Interesting guy, but increasingly a footnote. Heard his show a few times in the past few months and he seemed disengaged.

Radio and Podcasts / The Bob Levy Show

If anybody ever wants to hear why the comedy clubs that were booming in the 80's are now Section 8 housing, then take a listen to this hackfest. The station he's on in Boston is the type that you lose if you turn on a toaster in your kitchen.

I know this involves critical thinking and intellectual candor, so many of you Art Zombies(the few who don't have me on ignore) should avert your eyes now.

Is anybody a little bothered by Art's tacit CONTENT CONTROL attrmpts here? Apparently criticism here is enough to make him retreat into resignation. So, Art wants us to be good little "Art-isans" and just parrot praise for him. If not- you're engaging in "hate".

Your hero wants to censor this place.

Wanna go for a ride into Art Bell's Nighthawk Zone?

It is extremely surrealistic to be watching TV and seeing the remnants of a bomb blast at the bus stop you're at 3 times a week. Boylston Street in Copley Square. Holy shit.

Patriot's Day bombs? My money is on sovereign nation kooks. Honoring their patron saint McVeigh.

Random Topics / Fond Christmas Memories...or not
December 17, 2012, 12:43:15 AM

           Tuesday, December 24, 1985. I was 10.

Christmas Eve afternoon, my friend's parents had a party and about 7 of us junior assholes went. We were in the kitchen, when my friend's older brother Mike(17) entered to annoy us. One my friends says, very sarcastically, "nice beard(goatee)  you look really cool"

Mike says " you know how I got this? It's from your sister's pussy juice". Mike had no idea that his mother was standing right behind him putting something in the fridge. She goes apeshit, grabs him by the hair while saying "you talk that way in front of kids and women! You're a goddamned disgrace, get the hell out of this house"....we were dying laughing at them.
Though I started using the pussy juice line when I started to sprout facial hair. So, I'm forever indebted.

Random Topics / Why the media blows...

Part 1. The countless weekend stories about Hostess were often accompanied with coy, winking references to "munchies", with each anchor thinking they were outrageous 21st century Oscar Wildes. "Did you hear me reference Deadheads on a 6pm broadcast?" Keep pushing those envelopes you vacuous bubbleheads.

Part 2. The Likudnik scriptwriters at Fox News going out of their way to let you know where they stand. They had a reporter live in Israel( who looked like Chris Sarandon in Dog Day Afternoon) telling us about air raid sirens in a neighborhood where a elderly housing complex was...and the deduction of "Holocaust survivors" living there. Really? In Israel? Hey, maybe some people who were at Deir Yassin reside in those apartments too...oh, never mind.

You don't have to be Edward Said or Norman Finkelstein to see what's going on there. The Holocaust isn't brought up incidentally.

Politics / Their vote is worth the same as yours...
November 06, 2012, 04:30:40 PM

I just endured a conversation with a neighbor, a nice enough lady...but I was reminded of how depressing this time of year is.

This lady, who was all excited about going to the library to vote, was telling me about her intention to "vote for Tierney"...I just listened, mouth agape in horror. Speechless(no easy feat for me) and desperately looking for an exit.

Tierney is not up for election in OUR district. Not even close. This lady is not a first time voter, she was probably eligible to vote in 1968. And yet she's full of zest to vote, but blissfully unaware for who or why she's voting.

Another thread inspired by MV's Jennifer Garner commentary(which I tend to agree with)

I nominate the woman who looks like Mr Magoo biting into a lemon with a mouth full of Sour Patch Kids...Ellen Barkin. HOOFAH!  :'(  Can't watch anything with her in it.

No picture provided because I just had dinner.

               Here 'Tis...Coyle hasn't been wrong since 2000. And technically, I wasn't.

In essence, Romney is very popular in states with very few people. That's probably an issue the GOP should work on. Election will be "called" by the networks by 9:15 in the East.
