Thanks MV, the feeling is mutual buddy. Always found you to be an amazing and entertaining broadcaster. Martini #5 poured.

This gabcast made me pour a martini. And then four more after that.

Since the universe is expanding and that expansion is speeding up, wouldn’t there be a doppler shift to each signal and wouldn’t that doppler shift be different depending on the origin?

Now you made my head hurt.

Oh sure, they have to do all sorts of corrections for relative motion depending on the target.

Ask him about the possibility of exotic matter and what that could mean for space-time manipulation.

Seth looks specifically at 1420 Mhz because it's the frequency at which neutral hydrogen emits radio. All alien scientists would know that to be true, so it's logical to look there. It's also set aside for radio astronomy globally. Most other frequencies unfortunately are subject to interference from earth sources.

Only problem being that if they are calling out for Seth, are they ghosts or aliens? One can never tell, thus it's useless.

Ask the guest's opinion about KIC 8462852 and Pryzbylski's star, both are candidates for the detection of alien civilizations.

You know he was approached by Boorman to play the same role.  He was the first choice, I believe.  I'm sure Blue Jay could slap on Burt's face.

Connery does look oddly Burtesque in that get up.

Lots of ways to deflect asteroids. Nukes, lasers, rockets etc.

I leave y'all alone for a few days and I come back and Bellgab is plastered with half-nekkid pictures of Sean Connery. He's 87 years old for god's sake.

he is drunk far more than he isn't..same with some other travel dude

Yeah, I'm waiting for YouTube to demonetize him now that we've seen that the real Rick Steves is like something from Trailer Park Boys.

Nothing wrong with any of that. Now writing boring SciFi, that's a real crime against humanity.  :o

What was yesterday’s drama? Take a break from this place for a couple days and you’ve missed whole plotlines.

Cease and desists from Keith.

It's awesome that Dave is willing to show up and crank out an interesting program in the face of technical difficulty as opposed to, say, pouting in a corner.

I agree, and the guest has been interesting (and unsettling!). Enjoying it.

Yeah, Dave's a pro interviewer. Knows when to keep quiet and when to prod.

How would we know? Take their word for it? I saw a 'moonrock' exhibit at the museum of flight, in Seattle, and they looked like the coal slag we picked up, as kids, in eastern Washington. There are tons of the stuff laying around the old mines near Roslyn.

Nah, you can apply to study them if you're a credentialed scientist. I've known some that have. They are very distinct geologically from rocks here. And, you can likely buy a meteoritic one from the guest, he said he was a meteorite dealer.

WTF are you talking about?

I know how we got them. I'm interested in hearing him either make up a story about faking moon rocks, or make up a story about a secret sample return.

Dave, he's a meteoriticist. Have him explain the lunar rocks returned from Apollo.

Earlier she said she felt like she'd done a show already that day, and talked about 7-hour conversations with supporters.  I connected the two.  Makes my skin crawl.

Yeah ..... this is how one goes through the apotheosis to becoming an internet Falkie.
