I feel sorry for everyone under about 40. Every move has been videotaped since they popped from the womb.  Their parents destroyed any sense of privacy with the Betamax and VHS recorders.

I remember privacy. I remember when that wave crested and started to break too. It was in the 80s when shows like Entertainment Tonight and Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous started to get popular. I guess all that cocaine that the CIA was pumping into the populace really started synergizing with some of their other programs, like Operation Mockingbird back then.

WTF with the KTEN headline? "found safe?" After being kidnapped, gang-raped, and tortured? Ok, I could see some "fake news" outlet using the term "found alive" (and using the generic term "youths," lest they offend) but "safe?" Someone needs a news editor. I actually hope this turns out to be some kind of hoax or "fake news" but the lack of national coverage lends it credibility. What a terrible event. I hope they catch them, and by they I mean a posse or the dad or boyfriend, or good, old-school Sheriff.

My hunch was correct and this apparently was "fake news" and the "victim" made it up. Not these types of crimes don't happen but this one appears to be fake and she is being charged. But when they are fake "hate crimes," like the recent bomb threats made by the guy from Israel, I point them out.

Perhaps her attempt at a snarky remark about the cover photo of the Palm Beach Republican Party Dinner Program simply fell flat. Twitter users responded with a little fun at her expense. My favorite reply was the one about those 'Bosnian snipers'.
