I've had it with the'se internet Trolls.

It's important to let the Trolls you hate them enough to denounce them, but not enough to stop using them as a proper noun.

No screen shots from me.   I joined Facebook when it first became a thing.  Within two days, I got pinged by some dude from High School [whom I hadn't seen in 25 years] wanting me to join his Amway pyramid. Then another guy from High School wanted to sell me a life insurance annuity and then finally some skank from that had a thing for me back in the day hit me up wanting to know if I was currently married .   That was the end of my Facebook usage.  I have no regrets.

I'll watch the posts in this thread with interest.

One can only imagine what the real nightmare stories are from Facebook membership. I'm sure that information is out there, but I wouldn't find it entertaining to read about. It's complicated enough just managing a social niche in a world you can see and touch, without giving everyone, or just your "Facebook friends," your home address.

These supposed real names are worse than screen names.

so are you currently married?

Yep but not to Little Miss Mary Jane Rotten Crotch.

BTW - just reread what I posted and I had a Malliard moment in the middle of it.   Read before you hit submit!   Lesson learnt.

I think I'd feel more comfortable walking around nude in public, with just a big name tag around my neck, than being on FB.

Just sayin.

Art's transitional typography is something straight out of the 18th century.

When you think of the poems of, say, Pope, you can practically see the text marching before your eyes with the heavy capitalization of nouns. Not that Art is Pope, but I guess he sort of was once the Pope of talkers, before he lost his damned mind.

I can only speak for myself and I have a problem with the logic of his actions. If a person and their family are facing a threat to their well being/life occurring at their residence/place of work, one would assume that they would take every precaution and action to protect themselves. I don't want to rehash all the other factors of what was or wasn't done, but I do question why anyone in that position would post pictures on social media for all to see. Until Art is able to fill in the blanks as much as he can- there are too many gaps in the story and, right or wrong, people will fill them in themselves.

A person clearly exposing their loved ones in this manner is either stupid, doesn't care, or it suggests that the threat really doesn't exist. Pick one. I don't see him as stupid or not caring about his family. So what conclusion am I left with? Maybe there's another option that I haven't considered, but this is the way I see it.

Well your entitled to your opinion of course. I never saw any holes in the story. I think most people here believed art until he quit and then thought the story was fake because they were upset with Art for leaving. The same thing happened with his show most people seemed to be happy with it but once Art left you hear people saying 'this latest Art Bell incarnation wasn't so great'.

As for his Christmas photo, people say 'art don't let the stalker run your life!' when it came to doing the show but when it comes to taking a photo with his daughter all of the sudden the same logic doesn't apply. I'm sure Art had installed a shit ton of security before Christmas.

I'm not saying Art isn't being childish with his Bellgab attacks but we have to remember that he got a lot of shit from bellgab too.

Actually, I believe their is a simpler explanation. I think he is using an iPad. If I go back and try to fix a word, it often capitalizes it. Actually I think it happens more often with the predictive text, especially if I have used the word to start a sentence recently.

Yeah, that's why I never get my computer hardware off a fruit tree. That... and worms.

Btw, I liked that old av you had with the subtle figure hunched over the keyboard/desk. It took a while to notice. I understand your current one well, considering the state of affairs here at BG.

henge0stone- as I've told others here- you're take on this is as valid as any. No, Art doesn't 'owe me' and he doesn't have to answer to me for anything. I also don't owe him anything and I don't have to believe anything he tells us.

Since the situation has not been resolved because there are no new updates, the show remains in limbo, no arrest has been made, and Art remains off the air, we're at an impasse.

I've never advised anyone to turn against Art or Heather or to stop listening to the show. I agree with you about emotions being a strong factor in people's reactions. Maybe some of it is sour grapes, but I doubt it. It was a real eye opener for me.

If you think posting clear, upclose pictures on social media is a good move under those circumstances, then here is where we disagree. If you'd like to tell me why- I'll listen - I'd be curious to hear your reasoning.

I simply don't care anymore. Just for the record- I lost interest in the show before he left. I listened less and less after the first month; it had little to do with the drama. The story's inconsistencies, foreshadowing comments, and nonsensical tangents stretched its credibility- as far as I'm concerned. Everybody else will draw their own conclusions.

How he handled this from the very start has everything to do with the tattered relationships he has now and I don't see him doing anything constructive to change that.

So I explained to my housemate the forum and she thought you all might like this. I also learned a new word today, flounce. As to say you are leaving a forum for good. Enjoy gabbers! It is for Art not me.

Back then, women flounced and swooned regularly, but those are pretty much lost arts today.
