The date was arbitrary. All I meant was that 10,000 listers won't be there day 1.
I am sure the show will catch on because you are the best.

Well I will be happy with anything I get, if we only get a few we will have a private party!

The Good Wife, Walking Dead, Better Call Saul, BattleCreek, Shameless, Madam Secty and others. Right now reading The Escape by David Baldacci and forgot House of Cards.

I like all of you need to keep in mind that this is not a done deal till it's a done deal.

If you could pixelate your ugly mug then that would be greatly appreciated. ;)

I used to love the webcam shots we used to get. It made me feel apart of the program.

I believe you used to have 3 different angles. Surely in this day and age you can have cameras everywhere. ;D Perhaps this "service" can be for the paid subscribers.  8)

No I am not going for full time Cam coverage, besides watching a talk Show Host talk is right up there with watching grass grow.

But it is going to take a long while to build this. 6 months isn't going to be long enough it make take 2 years to even start getting a decent amount of traction.

Who said anything about six Months? I know it will take time. However I am willing to bet that in that period we will do a lot better than you think.

I am not rich as defined these days but I am comfortable enough to build the Studio myself which I will start doing as soon as we sign the deal and that could be in the next Week or so. How much we announce and when will be up to our Partner. There are some details I do not want to talk about anyway because of the ears we all know are listening.

I will have a couple of computers in my face at all times so I guess I could snap a few shots if anybody really wants to see my ugly mug.

Art, why don't you start those who want to subscribe the keys to the kingdom...let them start subscribing now?  $15 - $20 per 30 days. This charge will be made to their accounts every 30 days. The serial subscribers will help to shore up your operating income.  Offer a news letter of some kind plus free downloads of the shows every 30 days plus the offer of the choice of a free hat, mug, T-shirt, key chain, or autographed book, and other future free items.  The consequential listening audience want to hear your live show, but for various reasons they really can't fit your live show into their schedule. They will be charged around $5 per download of the each show. A free download after every 5th  downloads.

Well for one thing, frankly I don't need the money. After my experience with Sirius/XM I don't want anybody sticking their neck out but me.

My guess is this is going to work beyond my wildest hopes but if for any reason it does not I want it to be me that takes the hit, not you all.

On another subject I read the piece on Howard, I think he is thinking the very same thing I am, however our situations are not the same...he is on during drive time so Sirius/XM is perfect for him, my show is a night time deal and the Internet is perfect for me. Again almost everybody has a smart phone now, think of them as portable radio's.

The World is at a point of change and I am ready to ride.

If I was on Internet only I would expect a lesser pool of callers to start but, so what? I built it up before and I can do so again. The Internet would at this point with technology where it is, give me as big a pool of POSSIBLE listeners as 500 Radio stations.

If it is a smaller but smarter show, trust me I can live with that. I have always loved building new things and after they are built its kind of boring. I love new technology and the Internet is chock full of that.

My feeling is if we build it and it is good, they will come. If they don't its their loss.

I don't agree with Rush, but the Man has talent. A lot of people confuse disagreement with lack of talent. He has done many funny things over the Years.

As for all the questions everybody has I simply can not answer them all yet, sorry.

Here is what I truly think, it has not yet dawned on a lot of Broadcasters that the Internet offers a much better chance to reach far more people then Radio. It's just a matter of time and not much of it at that. Almost everybody has a smart phone now and if somebody like myself or any other good Talent runs a live Talk Show as a Free stream it may take some time but it will draw a very large number of listener's. The model of doing a one hour Podcast and throwing it up for Download will not work well, it has to be live like Radio. Nobody of any real weight has put up a live free show.

The shares for AM Radio are getting so low that many smaller stations are starting to throw in the towel and going off the air. Music stations including FM are now being replaced by the Pandora's of the World. Talk as of yet has not really done it, I intend to change that.

A one hour Podcast once a Week does not do the job, to build a audiance you need LIVE and it has to be there at least 5 Days a Week to build listening habits, the same rules that did govern success on Radio apply to streaming, it's just that people are not observing those rules on the net, they think it's not ready, they are wrong. Just consider its like almost everybody is walking around with a radio on their belt or pocketbook....but it's a smart Phone, it a huge untapped market for live Talk not just in the U.S. But Worldwide. I lived in Manila and everybody there had one in their hand. The potential is off the scale. Anyway I love new stuff.

We are also investigating Weather Alert Radio, simply send out the right tone and Midnight in the Desert replaces that boring Forecast from the NWS.

BTW I want to thank Bell Gabbers for the Baby Monitor idea which at first seemed like a joke but after serious technical investigation turned out to be a whale of a idea, it's such a captive group of concerned Parents. We will not overuse the "I need to be changed now sound" but you gotta get their attention!

Just consider, how many people do you see walking around with radios vs smartphones? If people could get a really good program live on their smartphone......

Well I do agree with Howard to a degree, I do not think they are for losers, they are for people who can not listen live. I do agree that a Podcast alone will not bring many.

LIVE shows on the Internet though rare now are the way to go and the future of what was Radio, Mark my words.

Couldn't let my bf enjoy dinner.  kept peeking in and rereading your comment.  When I looked up harpie/monster and went back on my posts, I now understand your remark.  And I'm more sorry than before.  I'm not good at trying to be sarcastic/funny either.  I should have never asked the hypothetical question thingy post I asked you about if you didn't come back... blah blah.  Reading it again, it's def stupid and childish but I'm drinking rum and was relaxing and reading here and saw the pudding lady go more than crazy and I just don't know.  I wondered if their nuts over that what might some people do if you quit.. I should not have posted it even if I thought it.  The worst part Art is that's my really bad sense of humor at work and I thought it was funny.  If you knew how lost I was as you slowly disappeared, and you could hear me, this is why I hate texting, you would know that I'm not trying to be a jerk off.

And to digress, the cussing question has a lot to do with listening to other shows and I shouldn't have said, whats with the rule?  If you had heard me say it it would not have come across the way it did.

Ugg, I had already forgotten about the hypothetical comment I had made when I started chatting about something else.

No problem, enjoy your Adult beverage....

If any of you see anybody walking down the street listening to AM radio....well, you won't. Again don't get me wrong I have strong feelings for those days, even a special place in my Heart for AM but sadly it is going away
faster then IHeart can sell them for pennies on the Dollar.

There was a day when if you were good you could find a way to get yourself on 500 or so stations running a combined total of millions of watts. Now if your good you can reach MORE people Worldwide on the Internet and it will get better and better. The key is you have to have something people want to hear, and if you have that they will find you without one watt of transmitted power. This will finally open the way for new Talent to find a way to be heard, it's a new day.

Art,

I've been a member here for 3 years and lurked many years prior. I don't post as much as others but I have noticed everytime you are active on the board, especially leading up to Dark Matter and now, all manners of trolls, bots, and headcases come out the woodwork derailing threads, pitting members against each other, and planting seeds of discord. Coincedence? nah, we all know there is no such thing.

That being said, the board is full of smart, witty, and funny posters who are genuinely fans and truly appreciate you being here and can't wait to hear you again.

You are correct and I am expecting a assault. It has happened EVERY time they face competition and this time it will be more intense. Sometimes it is hard to pick out a Bot but eventually they out themselves. They start like a caller to Dave but then turn like a rotten Apple. It is something I live with both on and off the air. I also don't cut them off if they come after me on the air, I just deal with it, it is why I do not screen calls.
