No specifics, but the ads are the worst part about radio no doubt.

There is one voice actor here that has the most annoying voice. He adds too much expression in a formula he applies to everything he says. You can literally mimic his highs and lows and apply it to all the ads hes part of.

Add the ease of adding effects like delay and reverb and pitch shifting, telephones ringing, sirens, buzzers, canned laughter and cheering crowds and something is created that makes you turn off the radio as soon as you hear it starting. Its like the kids editing the ads just go down a checklist and randomly apply useless and ear damaging effects.

I have literally ended a evening of radio enjoyment because I had to hear this guy once too many times.

There should be a rule that commercials only play once per show. And once they play for a month, they are retired for good. The voices should then be rotated out to another city lol.

Politics / Re: Dennis Miller: Liberal or Conservative?
September 07, 2011, 02:03:01 AM
I never bought into Millers word play.

When his show first started here, the 'smart words' were less frequent. He slowly worked one in a day, often getting it all wrong and being corrected by his sidekick. He would literally pronounce a new word wrong and be corrected.

Learn a new word a week that sticks and you too can be Dennis Miller - promoter of "limited big government and maximum federal power" and self proclaimed wordsmith. Just spend a few dollars on a pocket thesaurus.

I never really enjoyed under the breath giggling and gasping that seemed to be laid on strong to kill time.

Radio and Podcasts / Re: Have you been Hannitized?

Hannity has always made me sick.

But I could never prevent running into him because of the tv/radio lineup. I would catch a minute or two here and there. One time I saw him cutting to break on TV. And like a GOOD AMERICAN, he knows how to throw a mini nerf football. He pulled it out from under his desk, threw the tiny thing, and looked proudly at the camera with a smile and nod right before the commercial break. Naturally, it was a unscripted and unplanned glimpse into what its like to be a true american patriot.  :-[

Radio and Podcasts / Re: Jim Bohannon

I listened to Jimbo a bit for a few years on and off. Im not sure why. I think it was the bumper music. It sounded completely home made, consisting of cheesy guitar riff and wimpering older woman repeating "Jimbo" with little hoots and moans.  ;D (this was maybe 7 years ago).

I would laugh and also be annoyed by Jimbos bitchyness. His constant "WhaTTTeverrrrr" towards things he didnt agree with. In the end, the annoying factor won and I tuned him out for good.

Radio and Podcasts / Re: Michael Savage is a Weiner

A local station carried him a few years ago, and I listened on my way to work (a 20 minute ride). I enjoyed his energy, it was fun hearing him pissed off. Yes, he was eager for war and he rode the good cop bad cop party game, but there were some entertaining times he completely dropped politics.

Radio and Podcasts / Re: Alex Jones

I like Alex Jones. I cant think of any other reporter covering politics as well. If you want to know whats going on I think its better to check his website a time or two a week than any other news website. I think you just get more relevant information.

Its up to the reader to filter out what is over hyped and what isn't. That is far easier than visiting a news website and not seeing 1/100th of whats really happening.

His show does feel a bit scattered. I wish he would boil things down to a more organized 30 minutes and lose the rants or sidetrack information. He seems to do well when he has guests, so maybe the deal is he needs a sidekick or two constantly there to bounce him back on track.

I do like his shorter appearances on C2C. Like his news website, I wouldn't mind hearing him every week or two with a few minutes summing things up.

I turn the show off pretty quick (not immediately) when the issues are ghosts or UFO sightings. I try to give those shows a shot. Ghosts & UFOs & may find their way into other subjects, and fit well, but on their own they often just feel like a broken record to me.

I also tune out quick when the guest feels pro-war, hyping up some cheesy suitcase nuke threat that we face because the world is 'jealous of our freedom and HFCS'.

He was a great guest. I like George, but as usual he seemed to be distracted throughout the show. I always took it as him not being good at multitasking and likely browsing over a list of bullet points, not necessarily keeping track of what he asked and didn't ask lol.

But a great guest and interesting topic.

I just had a look at this "16 year old".

Guess what. Shes about 35. If she somehow is 16, its good shes getting married now to a older man because her at 35 will be even more unbelievable.

I think her implants are 16 years old.

She was OK the first few times. But in the end she really does take over the show. Something about the overly scripted pre recorded interviews completely pushes me away from the show, no matter how on topic the subject matter is.

The local radio ads here are so horrible and overplayed, they are not worth sitting through to hear her as a guest. Shes usually a early lights out for me.
