Well, that is part of Art's #LEGACY too.  Whether listening to Somewhere in Time or U7Radio.org, the unscreened callers stood out. 

It became very noticable in the SiTs and shows after his return from retirement when they started prescreening, the call quality dropped... (or did Art not play with them as well?)
