This would probably work in most cases today.  Niceties are seen more as a sign of weakness than cordiality.
Niceties are only seen as weak by pop culture types.  A lot of people ignore pop culture, having a real value system.  We all work, right?  Show me any HR manager who doesn't value nice!

Not really a come on line but i remember one guy saying, "Oh, baby! I'm gonna grout your birth canal!!" in a porno I saw in the 80s. You hear some tacky dialogue in these movies but this went above and beyond! ;D
