OK for Art Bell historians-- How many of Art's guests came to untimely ends?  Like Jim Keith who had a freak accident about 2-3 years after his "Men in Black" interview.  I think that Phillip Marshall who was a 9/11 theorist and former airline pilot ended up "suicided" after a C2C interview.  I'm sure that there were others.

The only one I can think of was a Noory guest.  The crocodile hunter, Steve Irwin.  Oh wait, John Mack.

Excellent.  And no Jack from Freedom Checks.

This is the best news I have read in awhile! Is popcorn provided by VanDeven Enterpirses or should we bring our own?  ;D

Well, Malachi Martin. Art insinuated some type of foul play as I recall.

He's not setting new records for suckiness, but I think all we're getting is fluctuations in his degree of suck.I disagree.  I think George Knapp is in the same ballpark as, and Ian Punnet was slightly better than, the late Mr. Bell.  And I've heard others who may have been too good for overnight.

Ms. Wade started out about as good as Mr. Noory, but because of her interest in the subject matter, got better.  Yet her program's still not as good as most of the others on DMDN.  Maybe it's unfair comparing her show to shorter ones, and comparing her & Mr. Noory as single interviewers to panel shows.  Hell, for that matter, I don't know how good Mr. Noory might be if he did programs on material he was really interested in -- which is what I thought he'd wind up doing when Mr. Bell said Mr. Noory would take the program in his own directions, but unfortunately it seems he didn't.

I certainly agree that George Knapp is the man and by listening to him for a few minutes followed by Noory, it’s pretty self evident who should really be the full time host.

So why can’t the producers of C2C see that?

There are several. And several guests who just 'disappeared,'- like Kathleen Keating. And others, like SDM #73055-112, are in Federal "facilities" and others, like Romanek, in "halfway houses" due to illegal porn convictions.

Sean Morton's serving prison time?  Hah!  The law finally caught up to that con artist, eh?

Knapp loves being a reporter, that's why he can't be the main host.  Maybe if he retires from his main gig, he'll take on more shows.  I don't see that happening anytime soon.  Besides we need good reporters like him.  They don't make many like him anymore.

You missed out on some fun stuff! It was a wild tale. He was a fugitive for a while and filed several bizarre pleadings to the courts trying to assert that they have no jurisdiction. He was initially arrested after walking down the gangplank from a "Conspira-Sea Cruise."

IMHO, Knapp and Punnett are close but not quite Art.  Definately the same ballpark.  I think John B. Wells was in there at one time before he went way off the deep end...I've never been able to listen to Lisa Garr so I don't know if she's good or not.  I just can't stand her voice.

Noory, if anything, has gone downhill.  His early program were quite good when he was trying to earn rights to the fulltime gig; listen to his interview with 'Bishop' Sean Manchester.  Noory is actively listening and asking good questions.  Now, he phones it in....

I could never get into Wells, to be honest.  He was the kinda guy, to me, that would say that a massive conspiracy was responsible for him stubbing his toe that morning.

Wow. He still is at it. FROM prison? I love how the call periodically interrupts "this call is from a Federal Prison" message. He needs to call into C2C or even MITD with predictions and tax/financial advice!

With flim flam men like Sean Morton the hustle never ends.

Ian could be great at times - but was too much of an ass too much of the time.  Not to mention the godawful puns.  Knapp is tedious and boring - with a really lousy sense of guest selection.

Neither is in Art's league, not even remotely close

SDM should call in for open-hailing-frequencies and discuss predictions with RCH on OSOM! The "this call is from Federal Prison" would be hilarious along with RCH's technical issues and appeals for funds.

Tom Sullivan, moderate Republican political talk show host, and Fox News Business host, paid tribute to Art Bell on his radio show today. Played part of the Area 51 caller. Pretty cool.

Ian is one of the best broadcasters I've ever heard.

Yeah, for me it's Ian and Knapp...Knapster's pretty bang-on, really surprised he doesn't have or want his own show...I mean I'd subscribe!

PS: yeah man, do another gabcast, that'd make daddy happy! haha, ewww gross...I barfed a bit in my mouth there...

Agreed. When Wells first came on he reminded me Art a lot. He had a darker sound. Seemed to be curious an open minded. Unfortunately it became obvious he didn’t have a big interest in the paranormal. And then got all political and so on.

I didn’t mind Noory for the first few years. Always liked Punnet and Knapp is the best overall besides Bell. I love his shows he’s done with Paulides.

That didn't bother me as bad as when he asked them on the same show...and worse when he asked them in the same hour.  I haven't heard him do those lately, so that must've been during the especially low dips in his performance.

I was on coast to coast a.m. briefly, it wasn't of course with Art Bell. However to even be apart, of what he created does mean something to me.

I've been trying to listen to talk radio today but no one mentioned him.  I thought Rush would say something but he didn't.  Kinda disappointed.

Is this the cuckshed that Art used to do his show from before Wade turned it into her house? Asking for a friend...

No.  The house to the left is Art's guest house and radio shack.

I was wondering if he would. I missed his show today. If nothing else, to pay tribute to a fellow broadcaster who changed radio and impacted the culture. Not too many people can say they did that.

Yes indeed.  He's the worst interviewer I've ever heard on the radio.  How he has managed to host a nationally syndicated radio show for 15 years puzzles me to no end.  He has problems with elocution and asks the same stupid questions all the time to guests who have answered said questions in all their previous appearances.  "What makes you do what you do?"  "Why is the devil evil?" "I hate psychic vampires, how about you?"

Ugghh.

He does what the network asks of him.

If that included gay for pay, he'd ask "where's the lube?"
