"Thank yeeewww.  Me, too."

;) ;) ;D
Somehow I imagine Norry, despite his claims to dress up as Zorro, pirates, and other action-type characters, dressed, by his mom, in a Little Lord Fauntleroy get-up well past its popularity with a certain class of Americans. Primarily because his foreign parents likely thought "this is how American boys dress Georgie" (she always called up Georgie.)
ps: someone is posting C2C shows again on the interwebs and torrents. Thank yeeew, whoever yeew are.  So I plan to rake, when will it end (!), the yard and get Norry's "take" our Austin bombings and his and Hulet's "take"on political events (they don't "do" politics) on this beautiful day. Just listened to Clyde's alarmist show from last night about some "mysterious" phone calls people are receiving that could be related to aliens, UFOs, nuclear war, Missing Malaysian planes, or a hoax etc but still got much of the yard to go....

I would like to hear the Nov 8 2007 Coast, unabridged.  The Insiders one is abridged.  I've never learned torrents on my tablet so if you see it could you tell me?

You make is almost sound like getting an education and making ones self more employable wmight be worth the effort to those people.  Or they could just go to the store next door and get another job there

Of course everyone knows paying attention in class and doing the homework is ''acting white'', skipping school to get high is cool, having babies as a teenager a chance to feel grown up, and so on is a much better idea.  And Corporate America had better wake up to this and start paying people far more than the value of the work they produce.

After all, when Barry Obama told us ''you didn't build that'', he wasn't just talking about small business owners, he was talking about the work people went through to get an education and develop jobs skills, and corporations who invest the money to produce most of the products and services we want and need.

Quote from: PB the Deplorable on March 19, 2018, 01:19:24 AM
Most of the people who lost their homes should have never been given mortgages in the first place.  The Clinton HUD decided that low income people should be buying houses too, so they lowered Fanny Mae's standards, houses got bid up with these new buyers who didn't have the money to keep making the payments, and the sub-prime boom was on.

Gig economy?  The Obama years of stagnation are over, time to look for a job.  May have to leave Podunk to find one though.

Min wage?  Arbitrary, set by government.  Regardless of what minimum wage is, no one is going to hire someone and pay them more than they are worth, people worth more can find jobs paying more.

Top wages have skyrocketed, because the jobs those people hold are more complex, and fewer people are able to do them.  Our educational system is abysmal - thanks to the educrats - and not enough students take charge and make sure that they get what they need out of school.

Wealth is continually being built.  It's not a zero sum game where some earn more at the expense of others - if the high earners didn't exist, the low earners would still be earning the same pay they are now, if not lower.
Quote from: PB the Deplorable on March 19, 2018, 02:07:51 AM
It's grossly misleading.  You didn't take statistics, did you?

Here's what I get from that chart:  people moving through life going thru various stages.  Most people are in each range at some point in their life (0-25% percentile, 26-50% percentile, and so on):

They spend more than they make while in school.  Fresh out of school they struggle at the bottom rung of the ladder, have student loans, car loans, etc, and live paycheck to paycheck.  After that they save to buy a home, begin to raise kids, spend more on cars, vacations, furnishings, etc.   There is a period when they have a little extra and begin saving for their kids college, then send them to college.  It's not until later in life their home values are considerably higher than what they paid, their savings and investments begin to reach a certain point, they earn substantially more, their kids are up and out, and they can save more.

That's a big part of what the chart is showing.  Of course the Socialists and politicians greedy for power would have you believe otherwise.  Those in favor of ever more government would have you believe the chart is a visual portrait of evil, and you need them to fix things.  And as we see with most stats given without proper context, most people don't know what they are looking at when shown a chart or numbers of any kind.

I'm sorry everything didn't work out the way you wanted it to.  I understand that things changed for a lot of people following the 2008 meltdown.

Normally a sharp drop in the economy like we had is followed by a sharp bounce back (assets become cheap and there is a readily available pool of employees available) - surely within a year or two - but this time it didn't happen.  Interesting you assign no blame to a president who routinely attacked the producers and those who provide jobs for eight years, and not coincidentally presided over a stagnate economy.

As soon as he was replaced by someone projecting confidence in capitalism and the private sector, and confidence in the economy was restored, we finally get the job growth we expected eight years ago.

Yet you are unable to make these connections.

As far as the airlines, are you really suggesting they are terrible organizations because they provide a service people want, and should provide that service without making any money?  The way you posed that comment reveals much.  If you truly feel oppressive Socialism is the answer to how the economy and government should be set up then there's really no use in further discussion - that argument is over, yet we continue to see it on display, most recently in Venezuela.

For extra credit, tell me who has been in charge of our big cities for the past 50 years - causing much of the damage you point to - and has run them into the ground

Quote from: PB the Deplorable on March 21, 2018, 12:37:17 AM
Of course Obama didn't create the 2008 meltdown.  Neither did George W Bush.  By simply sitting in the Oval Office, presidents get way too much credit and way too much blame for how the economy performs.

Having said that, what the president and the government can do is create impediments to the economy in a variety of ways, or tear them down.  Instead of simply giving credit or blame to whoever is in office at the time, ask what specific actions they took that led to the outcome in question.  (For example, what did Bill Clinton do specifically to balance the budget?)

Barack Obama's administration was very anti-business.  As with foreign policy, his actions and inactions on economic policy were far too often the opposite of what was needed.  His world view was simply wrong - his policies, commentary, appointments, etc, exacerbated the problem.

Part of what a candidate says or implies during the campaign is he or she is competent to determine and implement the right policies to handle issues as they arise - regardless of whose fault it is or that they didn't create the problem.  On the economy (and seemingly everything else), Obama didn't do that - just the opposite.
Century 21, We're sorry.  You have reached a wrong number.  Please check your number and dial again.

PeeeBeee! Acting white?  Acting white?  "Those people" ARE white!  I hadn't realized we were discussing race.  Did I miss something?  Maybe you could peek in your local DSHS area office.  Surprise!  White people, gasp.  Logon on to the Sheriff's convicted sex offender registry - Surprise!  White people.  Step into District Court some morning.  Gasp!  White people!

Just like George Noory and most of his staff/guests.

To Jojo and other interested members.  Let's take the political talk over to the politics threads and leave this thread to detail how much George Noory sucks.  I ask you Jojo because you don't seem to have a problem talking politics but have yet to visit for any length of time our political section.  I promise that I will be gentle with you.  I can't speak for the others though.
To Century 21,
Lately when you post to me you use salutations like "Dear Jojo" or "To Jojo".  Similar to how my great aunt writes her emails, lol.
Regards,
Jojo
P.S.  I don't like to discuss politics.  I am not up on world politics.  I dont go to the politics thread much bec MD and Pretty Boy bring politics to all my threads anyway, even my dieting thread!  However, I do defend my positions when challenged, in any thread.  For example, if in response to George's salary or whatever, if a political or economics tidbit is part of my response, that is fine.  What is not fine in this here GNS thread is for Pretty Boy to expound on tangential points, missing the main point.  That's like how George Snoory cuts off conversations at their apex, over trivialities. In this here GNS thread, we all cans help each other stick to GNS by honoring each others' varying opinions as they tangentally surface during discussions of GNS.  And just respect our right to have differences along the way as we all agree on the main point that GNS.

Actually, it all started with someone talking about GNS' salary, which led to a mention of the 1%.  Still relevant, as a comparison to GNS.  Yourself, MasterDater and PrettyBoy then just flung out economic debate which landed into political debate.  It was fine to bring up the top of the food chain as George sucks from it in his big, fat straw.  I wonder his much he has to pay his stalker not to talk about his, uh, well, you can figure.  Yes, his figure, that's it.

And what did he do to attract a stalker!  Did they actually date... Or has she just been obsessed with no provocation?  It's hard to imagine George not having a little radar for a tranny situation before attachments occurred between them. I mean usually couples go through stages of intimacy where honest discussions occur.  Surely he didn't just hop into bed with a stranger, see a shlong, and scram!

It is funny that Coast now only appears to have a presence in Vancouver and Toronto (big cities) and Kelowna (small city) throughout Canada.  I wonder how it is that more stations were not clamouring to pick up the show when the big network dropped them.  I wonder if it is because the audience for such a poorly produced show featuring frauds and new age crap just isn't there anymore?

It seems gullibility is a human trait...plenty of men want to buy into and peddle this and all manner of crazy stuff. have you seen some of our peers on this site in action? whatever is rewarding I suppose, whether it's touchy-feely dream interpretation or paranoia about anyone who thinks differently

God what a twit, he's becoming the guy sitting in the lobby of the nursing home waiting for visitors of other residents to strike up conversations with.

So he's got this new age dream 'expert' on and i wasn't listening closely so I'm not sure what triggered his brain to shit out the same old story we've heard a hundred times about him going to the University of Detroit and disappointing Faisal Noory by switching to broadcast journalism and then getting a job at the TV station where he'd work by day and go to classes at night and nothing ever pleased my dad - if i got a job as a producer he would ask 'Jorchie, when you be executive producer hmm?' lol

Then he asks this woman the same fucking question he's asked many times before, as if this woman would know 'Do you know if the government could somehow send somebody or something to enter your dreams and kill you?'

Damn I wish he was famous enough that SNL or Family Guy or South Park or any comedy show would skewer him and the show.

gullibility of the new age variety is heavily female, when's the last time you met a guy who went for a tarot reading or to have their aura read or whatever they do?

gullible men exist too but we're talking really dumb men or mentally unbalanced.  i know very intelligent women, some in my family, who have done new agey type stuff and gobble up books like The Secret.

Do you guys still have CanCon laws?! Not very free trade of you. In fact, I'd say it's downright protectionistic. :D
