I don't like that so many bought into the reversal of traditional political "coloring," that the US press did (other countries still hold to the traditional color scheme.) Red, to me still means leftist or even commie. Sort of how the press, or them behind them, made "liberal," in the US, to mean some anti-freedom, socialist type. Either way, or whatever color-code is used, hopefully you are correct. This might be why Obama desperately tried to flood the border, a separate children from families and release into society, and why the media is "all in" with a no borders policy?

Metron2267

You totally nailed that - this was done to us by that risible lamestream media as way to denigrate and besmirch Rs.

Wel screw 'em - one thing I know about the color red - it DEMANDS attention!

Ooo rah!

So, Time doesn't care that they're creating the news now (fabricating, lying) as long as it has the right political effect, as long as it works. ::)

It should be illegal. Can they really claim it's opinion when they're attempting to deceive?

We can only hope that people wake up soon and follow the lead of my personal idol, McVeigh.  That is the only way that America will remain great again.  They just need to target those fake newspapers and damn universities to finally cleanse this great land.  :)

I think it's very likely [Trentadue] was murdered. I'm not able to prove it....You see a body covered with blood, removed from the room as Mr. Trentadue was, soaked in blood, covered with bruises, and you try to gain access to the scene, and the government of the United States says no, you can't.... At that point we have no crime scene, so there are still questions about the death of Kenneth Trentadue that will never be answered because of the actions of the U.S. government. Whether those actions were intentionalâ€"whether they were incompetence, I don't know.... It was botched. Or, worse, it was planned.

I'm actually somebody who does not hate nor love Trump.  I dislike some of his policies, but I do appreciate a politician who actually does what he said he would do, and what his supporters elected him to do. I do think he's a complete jackass, but again, one of the few politicians to make a serious attempt to follow through on his campaign platform.

As for being communist... you need to stop smoking so much crack.

I know... The death was a little strange (I don't recall specifics.  They were claiming suicide but the ME refused to sign off as such?)  Using McVeigh was just meant as a bit of a dig at somebody openly calling for civil war.

*Edit.  I just flipped through Wikipedia.  Even more screwed up than I recalled...

Sorry, not buying it. You're a globalist Canuck and that's why you think he's a jackass. You're just out of touch with the hypocrisy induced rage that's been growing around the world for decades now. Best of luck in your continued fight against us though.  ;D

I think he is a jackass because he has the personality of a jackass.  I thought this long, long before he considered running for office.  The man is, quite simply, a twat.

But it is interesting to watch as America becomes more and more polarized.  I remember back to Bush.  And it seems that each president since has been more polarizing on both sides.  Yes, Obama was a fucker who pissed off the right (with good reason.)  But now Trump is trying to "one up" him in rhetoric.  Next you will end up with some fucking actual socialist (hello, Bernie Sanders) and suddenly it will be the right bitching again.  It is endlessly entertaining... But a little concerning as well.

Also concerning is that Canada seems to be following.  I think it was Paul Martin who claimed that anybody who would vote Reform didn't hold Canadian views.  I ended up a western separatist (and still am, to an extent.)  Fuck the socialist bastards draining our resources while claiming that I'm not Canadian.  Now we have Trudeau telling me that if I don't want a convicted terrorist to be a Canadian citizen, I don't hold Canadian values.

Anyhow... You ought to hope that "my side" wins.  It is a lot closer to "your side" than you may care to believe.  ;)

Well, at least some of your posts should reflect that then...but they don't. They're just pretty much always anti-Trump, anti-American rhetoric. Maybe you should expand your horizons a little. ;)

Up All Night

The Honduran toddler pictured sobbing in a pink jacket before U.S. President Donald Trump on the cover of Time magazine was not separated from her mother at the U.S. border, according to a man who says he is the girl’s father.

Valera, the girl's father, said the little girl and her mother, Sandra Sanchez, have been detained together in the Texas border town of McAllen, where Sanchez has applied for asylum, and they were not separated after being detained near the border.

Honduran deputy foreign minister Nelly Jerez confirmed Valera’s version of events.

You will have no trouble finding the "anti Trump" rhetoric.  Just look to my last post.  I want you to find all of this "anti American rhetoric" you seem to think I spout.  Sorry- but my disagreeing with you does not automatically make it "anti-American."

For fun, I think I'll hit on the trade crap that has been in the news lately. Again- I realize that Trump campaigned against NAFTA- so in one way I applaud him for following through on his promise.

However, I can tell you that when I bought a pair of Redwing shoes and found a "made in China" tag in them, I returned them and wrote the company.  I then bought a pair made in the USA at roughly twice the price.  My newest pair (not Redwing) is made in Winnipeg, Canada.  When suddenly my Carhartt's had a "made in Mexico" tag sewn in, I wrote them and informed them that if production was not returned to the USA, they had lost a customer. Yes, I spend more for products made in a country by labor that I want to support.

I have been thinking a little since this whole trade thing started.  When Carhartt moved their production to Mexico, my cost on a pair of pants dropped around $20.  I still would not buy them as it pissed me off that a company with their history who claimed to be so proud of being American would move production out of country.  Then they moved production (of black and brown) pants back to the USA.  My cost went up, and I buy mostly black pants (and the occasional brown) even though I prefer grey (grey is still made in Mexico.)

It is almost time to purchase a couple new pair.  I honestly don't know if I will just buy the grey pants this time.  Does it really matter if I support American jobs and American families when the president is busy painting Canada as an enemy?  Why not just buy what I like, go for the better price, and be done with it?

There is your "anti-American" rhetoric.  Somebody who refused to support companies who did not support Americans.  (Granted, I now admit that I don't know if I should continue caring if it is "Bill" making my pants in Tennessee, or if I should support "Jose" making my pants in Tijuana.)

You buy what you want for the reasons you want. However, we've had so-called free trade with you now for about 3 decades but it turns out it's not really free because there are still some pretty extreme protectionist tariffs on your side. Trump is a leader who's actual looking out for his own people. What a radical idea, eh? This must be why you hate him so much. Hence, the anti-Americanism. :D

Most of the tariffs are agricultural.  I dislike our system of quotas for milk, chickens and cheese (it cost me more as a consumer)... But it keeps many of the farms as family farms instead of corporate farms.  Where I start getting really bothered is cheese and other "industrial milk products" where I cannot access excellent quality artisnial cheese at a reasonable price due to tariffs.

However, the USA dumps massive amounts of government money into agriculture (everything from corn for fuel to purchasing fruits and vegies for food banks.)  It is not really reasonable to think that small Canadian farms would manage competion form an industry so supported by financial cash injections by the us government.

And these few million dollars of tariffs are really what he is going to start a trade war over?  I don't think so.  I think it is more because it is popular with his base (and for that, I don't fault him.)  However, he is doing things in a very strange manner.  For instance, the steel tariff imposes additional costs on raw steel and not manufactured goods (one would think if you are looking to protect American manufacturing, you would tax the finished product from other nations.)  Here is an interesting take from the last American keg manufacturer... https://www.marketplace.org/2018/03/16/business/last-american-keg-company-says-tariffs-come-unintended-consequences

It is good to see him doing something to support the industries.  I recall years ago hearing that many bridges (including the one in San Fransisco) were being built with Chinese steel because America no longer had any company that could build them.  That has to be a red flag.

As to me "buying what I want for the reasons I want"... I do that.  I used to consider "made in the USA" to be close enough to "made in Canada" that I would look for that label... I just am starting to finally second guess that decision.  I suppose I will see in a few weeks when I hit the store to buy pants... I understand that I am one person... So "who cares"?  I also understand that the guy with a job in Tennessee because I buy clothing made in the US is not to blame for a trade war.  I just don't know if I feel like spending more if it is not "made in Canada."
