Huh, what?  You can watch the real deal every Saturday night.

That's nothing, if you get the H&I channel (same kind of digital over the air bonus channel as MeTV), they run back to back episodes from each series every night in a five hour block. And they run the animated series on Sundays.

I'm optimistic about the series. I couldn't care less about retconning the no female captains in that era thing (which doesn't at all jive with the humanist ideals of starfleet). And I'm not worked up about these new klingons. Klingons have changed appearance before, they even came up with a reason for it during Enterprise's run. Maybe its the same genetic abnormality issue, or maybe it's some other species in the klingon empire.

Never mind what I previously wrote. If the rumors are true this production is in serious trouble. There's a link to a video in the comments that I haven't had a chance to watch, but if it's similar to things I've seen / read about CBS seriously screwing with the production and turning the story into complete nonsense it doesn't bode well.

Did they hire a bunch of people from FOX? To destroy a good series you need FOX executives.

To me the show didn't sound like it was going to be good right from the start, but I guess we'll see.

It's feeling very much like Mass Effect Andromeda the TV show.

I have no frame of reference. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?  ???

I thought this comic was funny. It is by someone that was practicing his comic skills.  If you are a fan of the original series you might find this amusing. I chose the one with that annoying kid, Charlie X, with the godlike abilities:

depends on who you ask..Media got a hold of the first few hours and bad animations of ME Andromeda and ran with it and it got pretty much hated on..but having played through it and them patching..i put 100 hours into a play through of it and enjoyed it

what they have done from reading around..seems they are changing some of canonical things...and people are feeling for a show that takes place 10 years before TOS it looks to..tech advanced

Pretty funny synopsis. I'll have to check out some of the others later.

Did they not have tv in your racist hick town in the 60s?

Ahahahaha.

A black lesbian vulcan commander, an asian female captain who can barely speak english, cringe worthy dialogue, terrible acting and lens flares galore.

Enjoy your shit fest.

Ahahahahahahahaha!!!!

At least he united the Star Wars and Star Trek fanbases with a mutual hatred of him and his films.

He already killed it with his movies. Whether you like that shit or not, it ain't Star Trek.  ;)

i do enjoy them..but they really aren't ST..which is what part of why i do not play STO a lot..all the quests/missions are for the most part combat based

She's a lesbian?  Hell, I'll fix that.  I'll have her turning up her nose at the thought of another box lunch and worshipping the good old American hot dog in no time.

I wonder if I'll be able to get this show legally in Singapore.

official trailer..looks far too action oriented

Lord Grantham

First episode was good, not great. It's unfortunate that the Enterprise intro is no longer the worst Trek intro.

I don't know why the opening on the desert planet even needed to exist. The acting was wooden, there was no sense that these two officers had served together for seven years. But when we get onto the ship all of a sudden everyone is bffs and jokingly rips on each other left and right. The tone on the planet was so different, it was jarring. Like that scene was written long before everything else, but they never bothered to revise it once they fleshed out the characters more.

Will I subscribe to CBS All Access? Maybe, but not right away. CBS did leaves us with a good cliffhanger, and I do want to see what happens next...eventually.

... for the intended audience of short attention span, immediate gratification twits of today.  Wouldn't want to stress the drone snowflakes.  I hope it was diverse and inclusive enough for them.

Who

I dropped  CBS All Access a few months ago. Saw ST:Discovery last night and wasn't impressed.

It might be a bad Star Trek intro, but I always liked the whole "humanity's journey to the stars" theme that it had (despite the absence of Yuri Gagarin).

trostol

watched both episodes...not via CBS or their access...that being said..if i had been watching live and not at work i think i would have been pissed the 2 episode premiere only had one of the episodes on regular tv

as forthe show itself..it was ok..nothing special..but it seems like they are going for action conflict instead of exploring and more...well sciencey stuff
