Fargo S02E07 opening | Jethro Tull - Locomotive Breath

-
In the shuffling madness
Of the locomotive breath,
Runs the all, time loser,
Headlong to his death
He feels the piston scraping
Steam breaking on his brow

Old Charlie stole the handle and
The train it won't stop going
No way to slow down

He sees his children jumping off
At stations, one by one
His woman and his best friend
In bed and having fun

He's crawling down the corridor
On his hands and knees
Old Charlie stole the handle and
The train it won't stop going
No way to slow down

He hears the silence howling
Catches angels as they fall
And the all-time winner
Has got him by the balls

He picks up Gideons Bible
Open at page one
I think God He stole the handle and
The train won't stop going

No way to slow down

This is the original version, isn't it? With Ian Gillan as Jesus and, here, Yvonne Elliman as Mary Magdalene. It's the version I, as 10 years old when released, grew up with, and grew into. It's MASTERWORK!

I grrew up with this version and defend it against ALL others. Deep Purple's Ian Gillan and Murray Head--the funky hip band playing.... IMHO untouchable.

Danny Boy - Sinead O Connor

Oh Danny boy, the pipes,
the pipes are calling
From glen to glen,
and down the mountain side

The summer's gone,
and all the flowers are falling
'Tis you, 'tis you
must go and I must bide

But come ye back
when summer's in the meadow
Or when the valley's hushed
and white with snow

'Tis I'll be there
in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy,
I love you so

And when you come,
and all the flowers are dying
If I am dead,
as dead I may well be

Ye'll come and find
a place where I am lying
And kneel and say
an "Ave" there for me

And I shall hear,
though soft your tread above me
And all my grave
shall warmer sweeter be

For you will bend
and tell me that you love me
And I shall rest
in peace until you come to me

But if I live
and should you die for Ireland
Let not your dying thoughts
be just of me

But say a prayer to God
for our dearest Island
I know He'll hear
and help to set her free

MrHippie, at first I accused your granola of being soggy and questioned whether you were even a hippie...but, with some time, you've reformulated your brand and now I think it's fresh, wholesome and crunchy and I do think you're a real hippie. Good job! Or, should I say groovy, man! 8)

I'm in the (hopefully) final stages of recovery from the Dreaded Influenza. And just whiled away a pleasant partial part of the morning spinning these clips.

Thanks, Dude, for abiding here.  Love, TigerLily
