I had this poster as a teen.  My mom was disturbed that the panties were a little too revealing but I convinced her to leave it up.  Cheryl Tiegs is the model.

One criticism that I do have for Once  ....  is it vilifies a segment of America....the hippies..... in much the same way that Django Unchained vilified Southerners.  Tarantino needs to learn not to blast cultures but narrow his anger to certain people or groups.  Still,  I loved seeing some of the Manson family getting their just desserts.  Too bad Charlie wasn't one of the victims.

I took a trip to my childhood tonight.  I went to see Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and loved all the cultural references from my youth, like the old Taco Bell and Der Weinershitzel restaurants as well as Sinister Seymour, Real Don Steele and 93 KHJ.  Plus I was ecstatic when the Pitt and DiCaprio killed some of the Manson family.  May they all rot in Hell.  Absolutely my favorite film of the last few years and I have never been crazy about Tarantino.  5 stars!!!

I love the new Lindsey since McCain died.  Reminds me of the old Lindsey back in his House days. ;D

Yep. By Dr. Fred Schwarts even, as I recall. Used to be easily found at yardsales and used book stores. Likely on Amazons now?  On phone n cant look up. But,basically, commies tell you what they will do and keep the promises.

My Godfather.  One of the most prominent influences in my life.  Great man who could recite any poem by Kipling, Tennyson and Service.  No matter the length of the poem. My Mom was his secretary.

Disagree. The Bushes weren’t real conservatives, they just played them on TV. Haven’t you noticed how the left now lionizes them and pines for a return to Bush era politics? That should tell you something right there.

Exactly.

Not happening! ;)
Good to see you too.

Can we also have real soundtracks on movies again instead of noises that tests the limits of a woofer?  I yearn for composers in the vein of Goldsmith, Herrmann, Bernstein and John Williams. Hans Zimmer sucks.

I did see It, part 2 and it was very good but I wished both movies had been set in the 50's and 80's as the original book was.  I wanted to see a giant Buddy Holly wreaking havoc on Derry.

Saw "Joker." Not bad for today's movies.  Phoenix is indeed a good actor.  A portrayal of a man gone mad and a good story for explaining how the Joker came to be.  Not the typical comic character movie gone CGI crazy.  Thank God.

I have kind of refused to see it.  I'm kind of tired of "dark" movies.  I was hoping they would go back to the original incarnation of the Joker where his face was plastered with that grin as in the movie, The Man Who Laughs, that was the direct inspiration for the Joker.

That and I've been underwhelmed with Joaquin Phoenix in his last few movies.  I wasn't a big fan of the series of Batman films made by Christopher Nolan.  I kind of liked the Burton films but even he didn't get it completely right.  I would make a noirish version of Batman where he strikes fear in villains.  I'd probably set it in the 40's.  Yes, it would probably be a somewhat dark and cynical film but maybe with a few rays of light.  Not completely grim.

I'll probably catch Joker via rental but my wife refuses to watch it.  I too am tired of comic book movies.  I liked them for a while but I'm burnt out on them.  I want movies that delve into character and have interesting storylines.  I'm sick to death of CGI.  I'm sorry, CGI movies look as fake as the old vampire films with a rubber bat hanging on a string.  At least those old films are fun in a nostalgic way and the filmmakers did the best they could with the limited resources they had.  Give me Harryhausen any day over contemporary CGI.

What I want to know is if Noory was able to get a cameo in the Irishman as the last man who interviewed Jimmy Hoffa.  Did they use the de-aging process on him too? Inquiring minds want to know.

Has anybody brought up this mass killing in SoCal?  Where are the knife-grabbers? Where's Pud when you need him?

I woke up today and only found out there were mass shootings around noon.  That is how little I pay attention to news these days.  I avoid it like the plague on weekends.

No doubt most of 'em happen in this town!  Ha!  I'd like to see someone post this with news footage of shooting crimes in that town.

Enjoy the concert.  I'd love to see it but they're not playing anywhere near me.  Like Albrecht, I heard Clyde talking about how much he and his wife enjoyed them in Portland.  It should be grand.

I'm expecting this to be the best concert that I've been to in this century.  I've only seen two prior to this.  Macca and The Eagles.  Macca's voice had lost some of its punch but the Eagles were in top form.  Still,  ELO is really my favorite.

Welcome back, Hot Britches.  ;)  Post often.

Thanks man. Great to see you, IO. ;D  Going to see Roy's compatriot from the Travelling Wilburys on Friday. No, not Zimmy,  Mssr. Lynne still has his voice unlike poor Bob.  George Harrison's scion will also be on hand too.

40 years ago wasn't today...and it was far cheaper to live (ask me how I know). If you don't understand that and all it entails I can't help you.

Yeah especially if you live in California or any other leftist stronghold.  In Georgia, you can get by on a lot less money.  Of course we are overrun with Yankee transplants so this state may become a shit hole as well in 30 years or so. If taxes are too high for you and you leave your state for someplace more affordable then please change your voting practices because we don't want the same shit happening in GA.

One of my cousins saw them in Chicago last summer and said it was awesome! Have fun, will be a good show. Clyde Lewis on his show mentioned how good the recent show in Portland was also....

Jeff has somehow managed to keep his singing voice.  He still sounds great! I'm really looking forward to the concert.  I've literally been waiting for decades for him to come out on tour.  Glad he did while he can still sing.

Thank you, MD.  That warmed my cold, cold heart.  Going to see George's son who is touring with Jeff Lynne on Friday.  VIP. 8th row.

That chick is still on the air?

I've been off the internet, for the most part, since late last year. I thought for sure her show would be kaput by now.
