Don't know no "emm vee," but Liberace is ok with it.  She changed the show's name, after all.

If two shows can share a thread, two MVs can share a nickname

... Are you going to service this straw man endlessly?

If anything it's YOU who seem at odds with his style despite positing our collective familiarity with it.

Sorry, I wasn't a viewer of his reality shows so if anything I'm less experienced in the nuances of his bluster...

I don't watch those shows either.  Are you saying you were unaware of 30 years of Trump trying to grab the spotlight whenever he could by being outrageous?  Being an all around wanker?  I don't follow Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, or David Bekham either, but I know who they are and have a general idea of their public persona.

And I would expect them to act the same way they do now in elected office.  Same with, say, Al Franken and anyone else well known before entering politics.

I have always thought highly of Rudy but I’m beginning to think he’s lost it.  Could he possibly say a more bone headed thing at a worse time?   Time will tell.

... You do realize that Reagan's era was largely unsullied by the polarization that Rush and other nascent conservative media would be blamed for. No Fox News either.

And it was the emergence of those two that led to the insanity of the left and the subsequent and ongoing destruction of balanced reportage.

Think your analogies through and try and correct for social context, please.

The Left has been building in this country for 100 years.  Since the early ''progressives'' like Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson, and later with FDR.  They got a big boost during the 1960s, and were able to very effectively use the Vietnam War, then Watergate to grow and take over certain institutions, such as the media.  And the media attacked Reagan relentlessly.

Rush and the others didn't create that, they countered it.  By the time they arrived on the scene, the Far Left had already gained traction and were a sizable group within the Democrat Party.  When Bill told Hilary to work on initiatives to nationalize health care, and get rid of guns, every Democrat in contested House seats across the country lost, leaving the party in the hands of Nancy Peolsi and the far left ''progressive'' Democrats.  Who then hand picked candidates, steered funding their way, and created the new ''progressive'' Democrat Party, culminating with the election of Berock Obama.

So you think by being something he is not that he'd have marshaled support from the Deep State lackeys for his policies which run counter to their statist agenda...

Is having manners ''being something you're not''?  Is that in Metreon's Guide to Raising Children'?  ''If you're an asshole, that's ok - just be yourself'' - that's your recommendation?

Ok, if you think insulting people whose goodwill, support, and cooperation you're going to need down the road is the smart thing, then you've found your ideal candidate.  If you think ''everyone'' in DC except Trump is a ''Deep State lackey'', you are the who's delusional.

Tuned into Heater's show for a couple of minutes last night, mostly just to see if she was still on.  She say's we're ''ragin' through the night''.

Sounded very familiar.  I wonder if she knows Art was the only other person to rage through the night, on his show?

All "ghost hunting shows", stink on ice.

Horrible.  There is a lot of ''paranormal'' BS, and this is right down there.  If they were honest, they'd play the ''recording'' and not say what it is we are supposed to hear.  If they did that, the shows would be very different.

At 1:20 doing a ''review'' of his California gems trail book, reading the back to tell us what to look for he pronounces agate ''aw-gate''.  This fuckwit is a 227 lb George Noory.  Oh, wait...

At about 2:45, after blowing about 5 other words, he takes another stab at it ''aw-gate or A-gate''.  Goddam, he thinks serpentine and some of these other minerals he's never heard of are valuable.

Some of them, agates, jasper, jade, etc may get a few bucks but it wouldn't repay the cost of finding them, polishing them, and selling them.  I've found a few places around here while hiking where there is literally tons of serpentine, for example, huge veins of it coming to the surface and laying out on the ground.  I believe it's the state mineral, but it isn't worth anything.  Jade and jasper too, mostly along stream beds, but it isn't commercial quality.

Jury duty today.  Whole day ruined.  These fucks have zero consideration for those selected and who have no choice but to tolerate whatever they are ordered to do.

That whole building is swarming with useless cops, who are paid cop salaries and are receiving cop benefits and pensions to make sure we take off our belts when going thru the entry scanner, walking around, sitting on their asses, etc.  There are dozens of clerks, bureaucrats, people paid to cater to Spanish only speakers, you name it, no doubt pulling down much higher salaries than they are worth.

So what do ''jurors'' get?  Pay?  No.  Brunch?  No.  Lunch?  No.  We get to get there at 8:30, where we sit for 3 hours in a room with rows of uncomfortable chairs, being quiet and doing nothing.  IF we are needed, we then go to the courtroom, where more time is wasted before a 90 minute lunch is declared.  After lunch, by the time the 12 jurors are selected they've had another 30 minute break, it's 4:30, and time for these slugs to go home.  The judge acted like he was doing us some huge favor holding everyone 5 minutes past 4:30 to impanel the last of the jury instead of making the rest of us come back the next day too.  When returning to the jury assembly room to turn our badges and get our certifications, the woman wasn't there and someone had to go look for her.  Then she took her sweet time coming.  What, they didn't know we'd be coming back after the jury was selected because they only do it every single day?

Here's what should have happened:  Whatever the judge and attorneys were talking about all morning while we waited should have been done the day before, with jury selection starting 8:30 sharp.  We should have had brunch and lunch buffet.  We should have been paid maybe $100 each, like everyone else working there.  The 3 hours it actually took to pick a jury should have taken 3 hours, not 8.  Clerks should have had the forms we were to receive available and ready to hand out when we left the courtroom.

I would love to see these lazy loafers at work at some company somewhere.

That whole ridiculous nonsense about whether a president can pardon himself turned me off bigly.  I blame Rudy as much as Donald on that one but their statements reeked of inappropriate ethics.  I actually like Rudy a lot and am dumbfounded that he even bothered responding to the bait that Stephanopoulos tripped him up with.

I'm not so sure.

Article II, Section 2, Clause 1:

“The President...shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.”

The only limits mentioned in the Constitution are that pardons are limited to offenses against the United States (i.e., not civil or state cases), and that they cannot affect an impeachment process.  With the president as head of the Executive Branch, The Framer's didn't anticipate a Justice Department going after him on legal grounds.  They didn't anticipate a special council with unlimited resources investigating him.  They certainly wouldn't have seen a president distracted by legal issues while serving as being in the best interests of the country.

The proper course of action in removing a corrupt president is investigation and Impeachment by the House, and Conviction in the senate.  Or being voted out the next election.  That's it.  Not an indictment, not an endless investigation by an unelected untouchable investigator.  If a president has committed a crime, and the Congress fails to remove him, then it has to wait until he is otherwise out of office.

Would a self pardon, or a pardon of associates be unethical?  It would depend on the circumstances.  But just as ''it's better that 10 guilty men go free than for an innocent man be imprisoned'', or however the saying goes, it's better that a president to be unencumbered by the legal maneuverings of his enemies, than he be distracted from focusing on his duties in a dangerous world

I see.  So the choice is drive away people who would normally be on his side, or become an Establishment Republican?

I offer Ronald Reagan as an example of how to lead and be successful in the face of a left-wing media, hostile Democrats, Cultural Marxists, various enemy nations, etc.

Go listen to some of his old speeches on YouTube, and note how different his approach was from Trump's, then understand why he was so much more respected, successful, and popular.

Shameless he was!

And it....worked!...

It worked, as long as he doesn't expect any or them or their colleagues to have his back (such as, say, during the Muller investigation; or against the media).  Or to support his legislative agenda items when that might cost them politically.

... http://www.speroforum.com/a/VLVNSDFKFH46/82489-A-list-of-Trumps-2017-legislative-accomplishments

President Donald Trump signed the $1.5 trillion tax cut bill on December 22, and cited then the number of bill he had signed into law this year as 88. Actually, he has signed more bills than that so far during his tenure in office. The actual number of law Trump signed this year is 96.

All 96 laws signed by President Trump, categorized...

I said he isn't a leader and hasn't been leading on legislation - I didn't say nothing has been passed and signed into law.  He didn't lead on these items.  It's still a Republican Congress, and they've had eight years of pent up legislation they knew Obama wouldn't sign.

... Your strong personal bias is confirmed, not much more need be said here.

Toodles.

Oh I'm sorry.  Did I give you the impression I thought he was something other than a blustering jerk?  This is a person who has been on the scene for decades.  I thought we all knew what we were getting, as far as a self-absorbed boor.

Doesn't mean I'm not going to support him on issues when he agrees with me, and it doesn't mean I'm not going to support him when he's being attacked by the fake news media, the fascist ''progressives'', or the Cultural Marxists - I am, I just wish he were easier to defend sometimes.

In fact, much to my surprise, he' done a lot of very positive things.  But this nation has gotten way off track and needs much more done - things that he should have been able to get done, or at least get started on, with a Republican House and a Republican Senate.  There has been much in the way of missed opportunities because of the way he operates.

Many awards these days are totally BS. I heard someone advocating voting for Norry on another radio show and the voting is suspect. It is not based on performance, voting by other media personalities, vote by members, based on ratings, based on certain coverage but just members of the public voting and you are even allowed to vote several times.

I don't remember there being a vote when Art Bell was inducted (I cold be very wrong about that).  My recollection was inductees were based on their networks basically paying an entrance fee.  If so, this is a step up

unfortunatelY, FAT FALKIE did NOT invite slow Kathy to AlienCON...

I am afraid FAT FALKIE might have some explaining to do

Simple, Falkie had Kathie and Patty along to attend the convention in San Francisco - the one when he missed interviewing Norry because Kathie didn't remind him to bring some unneeded equipment to do the interview, and they had to turn around and return home to get it - making him late and miss meeting up with Noory (interesting he didn't call his good friend's cell to say he was going to be late or where to find him).  Why would he take her again after that?

Besides, he had to walk a couple of blocks when she drove him to the convention in Sacramento.  Very unreliable, very discourteous, almost as if she isn't interested in his video career or these conventions.  And how much did Kathie save to go ?  How much did she donate for him to go?  Nothing and nothing.
