The Gospel of Judas says there was no need for forgiveness as he was doing God’s will by putting Jesus on the cross.

The movie The Last Temptation sort of portrays him this way, played by Harvey Kitel.

Alice Cooper at least was excellent.

I think that if you liked a group's music and they're still touring, you may as well see them while you can since you never know when they'll hang it up completely or just plain drop dead. I sorta want to see the Rolling Stones for this reason  ;)

I saw them as a kid. My dad took my brother an I to one of their shows and they were horrible. They rushed through all of their songs at double time and then were out. Of course, the crowd didn't seem to care because it was the Stones. The opening acts were way better. I'd never pay to see them

Boo hoo.  Part of the Federal Government is shutdown.  Thanks Democrats!!!  It is not like the National Parks are busy at this time of year anyway.  Let's keep this going until April 1.

A fringe benefit of this is that less people will go missing now. ;)

Oh, I was responding to Nomorenoory from 4:26AM, when he mentioned Galilee.
But yes sometimes my tongue is in my cheek!

Nomorenoory
"Wandering stars is musicals.

There are lots of vague prophesies that appear to be fulfilled. There is no precise prediction of anything. The rest is manipulation. The story of the census is the obvious one. Luke says it happened when Quirinius was governor, under Herod The Great. There is a record of a 'registration' for tax purposes shortly after Quirinius was appointed in 6AD. Problem: Herod died in 4BC. Problem: Joseph lived in Galilee, which was not affected anyway. Also, whoever heard of a census requiring people to travel to the city of their birth? The whole purpose of a census is to take an instant 'snapshot' of a population, especially if undertaken for the purposes of tax assessment. Historically and logically, the census story makes no sense and is clearly a literary device to place Jesus in Bethlehem to 'fulfill' a prophesy and place him in the lineage of King David (for whose existence there is very little evidence outside the Bible)."

No, he mentioned the pope locking up Galileo for proving that we weren't the center of the universe because we weren't even the center of this solar system.  ;)

The fabulous Quay Lude (aka Fee Waybill), with The Tubes, no doubt performing their smash hit, "White Punks on Dope", 1975.

(I am sorry to hear how Petty checked out)

They were a great band! 8)

I've been four times.  More than enough, at least on business.   Might be a different story if you went on your own and
got out into the countryside a little bit.  It seems like my employer is looking more towards Africa in the future for
offshoring work so that will be its own adventure.

Bring extra mosquito repelant.  ;)

It was not wise to try and drink while taking mandrax.

Funny enough, the people would usually survive just fine and sustained minimal injury because they were so loosey goosey. ;)

no shit.  i've been seeing the name of that drug in connection with dead people more and more frequently.

thank god pot's illegal, though.

You probably don't remember this and it's frankly before my time but back in the seventies there was a drug called quaaludes on the market. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methaqualone I'm not sure if there were a lot of ODs on it but it caused a lot of property damage when people would try to drive on them. Watch the Wolf of Wall Street for an example of this. At some point they just made it illegal to manufacture here and now you never here about them anymore.

Tom Petty’s Cause of Death Revealed

The toxicology report shows he died from an accidental drug overdose from a variety of pain medications

https://pitchfork.com/news/tom-pettys-cause-of-death-revealed/

I somehow knew even before I clicked on the article that it was going to say Fentanyl. I'm starting to think it should be taken off the market altogether.

Like claiming to be a doctor?

If one wasn't and was practicing medicine then yes. :)

Yah, so scabbed over that you can't even elect a coffee-coloured guy as president without having a conniption and trying to claim he isn't really American.

That's not about race. It's about fraud. ::)

Some might, but 'owning another human being as property' is the usual definition. And that has been one of your particular specialities.

Britain set the standard.

That you're trying to hold open a centuries old wound that had basically already scabbed over for political purposes and are using "minorities" as pawns; and that this, in fact, makes you the racist.

Some, especially of the more leftie variety, would say that feudalism, crofts, colonialism- heck even rent or taxes- are subtle forms of slavery. I think it was only in the mid 70s that a tenant farmer even had the right to try to acquire their own land in Scotland (though, no doubt, you wouldn't consider that "home" lands.") Not that you ever had Civil Wars, rebellions, or riots over such things.  :o

Watch it, al! He'll accuse you of thinking. Apparently, it's verboten with their kind. ;)
