You probably don't remember this and it's frankly before my time but back in the seventies there was a drug called quaaludes on the market. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methaqualone I'm not sure if there were a lot of ODs on it but it caused a lot of property damage when people would try to drive on them. Watch the Wolf of Wall Street for an example of this. At some point they just made it illegal to manufacture here and now you never here about them anymore.

It was not wise to try and drink while taking mandrax.

You were doing it yourselves not so long ago. And you were supposedly educated enough to tell right from wrong. You knew the difference, but you went ahead and did it anyway. That makes you far more culpable than people in less developed countries.

We inherited from you. We threw your ass out and then outlawed the importation of slavery in 1807 and outlawed slavery in 1863. England did not outlaw it until 1833.  Dont hold your head too high.

You're assuming that the behaviour of the apostles could have only one explanation, when they could be simply wrong and deluded. How many examples can we name of groups of people being wrong (thousands) compared to examples of people rising from the dead (zero)? Which belief is the more rational?

I am not sure how familiar you are with the gospels and the rest of the New Testament. It is not like Billy Meier telling Michael Horn what he saw and then have Michael Horn live a life of poverty, move to Saudi Arabia to preach that gospel and submit to torture and martyrdom for his beliefs. Michael Horn might believe Billy Meier is actually telling the truth, or he might be delusional and overly committed to living a lie.

The actions of the apostles would be more like Billy Meier, along with 10 of his best friends and a couple of siblings actually see the UFOs, together and separately, and each of them talking to the Plaeadians and getting the exact same mesage and then going to the ends of the earth, especially to areas like Muslim countries and being executed for their beliefs.  If they had actually built the UFOs out of trashcan lids and took a polaroid of the Dean Martin show, you would not get them all to go let them selves be tortured and beheaded.  I maintain that one or more of them would have capitulated and denied the story.

I wont convince you, but if you are interested in a scholarly study of the subject, I recommend this book.  It was written by an investigative reporter for the Chicago Sun Times that set out to prove that the stories of Christ were not true and ended up convincing himself that they were based in fact.

People have been burned to death for their beliefs centuries, millennia, afterwards; but that's not evidence for anything, only that they happened to believe something was true. What you're saying is a logical fallacy: you don't know the answer for something, therefore you know. What kind of screwed up god uses a bunch of illiterate fishermen to get the word out anyway? He could have shown up in Rome, done his David Copperfield act, and there'd be no argument. And you'd have a literate culture ready to bear witness.

People have been burned for their beliefs when they believed their beliefs were the truth.

Suicide bombers, Heavens Gate Cult, etc willingly die for what they believe is the truth. M

The argument is what group of people do you know (100%) willingly submit to martyrdom when they KNOW the belief they are preaching is a lie?

But I do know GNS

Go ahead and make up a list, Doc.  Research those people that you want to die, they might have health problems.  Lots of sports and show biz people ripe for a visit with the Grim Reaper.  I look for McCain to be the first on everyone's lists to go.  He went home awhile back and hasn't been heard from since.

Betty White and Willie Nelson wont last forever.

Millions of hours of painstaking intricacy....created and preserved by so many artists and religious people.... through a couple thousand years... just to document a few horrid hours.

I still dont see what you are getting at. How many temples and statues were made to the Greek and Roman gods?

If anyone is going to look for evidence, the change in the behavior of the apostles is the strongest evidence that they saw the risen Christ. They went from cowering in fear in the upper room to boldly proclaiming the Gospel and all except John were put to death for their beliefs. It is one thing to die for something you believe is the truth. I doubt that they all would have suffered the torture for something they believed was a lie.

The Catholic Church calls the pope Lord, or God.  That is representative of anti-Christ.

No they dont

Well, let's see. At a glance...
The burning of the library at Alexandria, depriving us of ancient learning and pushing Europe into The Dark Ages for 1500 years before the rediscovery of Classical learning produced the Renaissance.
The Crusades.
Demonization of the Jews as 'Christ-killers'.
The medieval witch trials. Basically a holocaust against women.
The subjugation of women and their sexuality.
Never-ending wars across Europe.
The imprisonment of Galileo for the crime of looking through a telescope. And all the others who dared to suggest a heliocentric view.
The Salem witch trials.
The rejection of Darwin.
Westboro Baptist Church.
Kim Davies.
Roy Moore.

Just off the top of my head. More on application....

You should brush up on your history of Alexandria.

The Bible is a compilation of so many ancient texts.

Jewish history is pretty intact (unlike their nether regions...).  So, all those Begats do have historical meaning, and are repeated in many of the varied ancient texts compiled into the Old Testament, as well as at least twice in the New Testament.

With all the historical artwork of the stations of the Cross, it would be hard to say the Gospel is fantasy.

The stations of the cross depict what, 12 hours of history?

Two people have represented their party on the presidential ballot a total of five times as either the presidential or vice-presidential nominee.  Not surprisingly, one of them is FDR.  Who is the other?

Nixon

I see Robert Felix is on Coast tonight.  Very apt since it is snowing again in Atlanta now.  Our 2nd event of the season and it is only the middle of January.

Yesterday it was 70 and sunny. Right now it is 26.

If it turns out Trump didn't use the term shithole, that ''Little Dick'' Durbin just made it up in order to create more Democrat generated racial divisiveness and more irrational Trump hate, and the Fake News Media didn't care whether it was true or not and were more than happy to report it - will Pud and the other followers this time decide to stop believing everything the pretend reporters tell them, or will they just move on to the next fake story?

Just the fact that it was turned into something ''racist'' is a disgrace, something manufactured by the Party who has tried to divide the country along racial lines for it's own benefit almost since it's inception.  Race isn't what makes these countries shitholes, their governments are.  The ''White'' East Bloc countries were considered shitholes before escaping the ''Progressive'' Soviet Union, and joining the civilized free world.  Plenty of Asian, Latin American, and African countries are no longer considered shitholes - because they have governments that respect human rights, and the people's right to the fruits of their labor.

That's the Left for you though.  That's the Democrat Party.  That's the Fake News media.  They can't win by telling the truth, by competing in the arena of ideas.  They have to keep people poor and dependent.  They have to be this deceitful and destructive - or disappear as a political force.

In 2014, Trump donated $10k to send a bunch of eye doctors (including Rand Paul) to Haiti and Guatamala. Because he is a racist.

Perhaps, but they were deep and could afford to.  I like what the Buccos received.  One of the few fans that do.  This Cutch trade is trash though.

The last game I saw there I got a Sean Casey bobblehead. Of course, it was the day after he was traded.
