American film actress Dorothy Arnold was born on November 21, 1917.  She co-starred in the Bela Lugosi serial 'The Phantom Creeps' but perhaps her main claim to fame was that she was Joe DiMaggio's first wife.  She passed away on November 13, 1984 at the age of 66.  She was interred at Desert Memorial Park, a cemetery in Cathedral City, California.  Frank Sinatra, Sonny Bono, Busby Berkeley, Cameron Mitchell and William Powell are some notables that are also buried there.

"Mazzone brought the bomb to the central police station at Oneida and Broadway and turned it over to the Milwaukee Police Department. The station keeper was showing it to the shift commander, Lieutenant Flood, right before a scheduled inspection, when it exploded."

I simply don't find this story to be plausible. If it were that easy to blow up a police station, it would have happened many, many more times before and after.

I can't find much on the "Russian" champion William Berne except other references in old papers. Professor Ito has a bit more but because later wrasslers also used the moniker it is hard to get much on him also except that he was bringing the little know art of Ju-Jitsu to "catch as catch can" wrestling.

As you noted there is some slight info on Ito.  Looks like he was in Seattle for awhile:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seattle_Dojo

QuoteThe man who made Seattle Dojo famous, however, was professional wrestler Tokugoro Ito, who made the club his headquarters during his stay in Seattle (1907â€"1911).  Other wrestlers associated with Seattle Dojo included Eitaro Suzuki, who wrestled for Japan during the 1932 Olympics, and Kaimon Kudo, a popular professional wrestler of the 1930s and 1940s

This says A LOT! Some of the best guitarists named their sons after him!

I know it's an overused cliché, but the phrase 'music to my ears' certainly does apply to Merle's guitar playing.

Ha, very true.  I could only come up with one other lady Merle...the actress Merle Oberon, who appeared in one of my favorite movies, 1934's The Scarlet Pimpernel.  (Even at that, Estelle was her real first name.)
