These were the Tony's - not a Hollywood thing. Also, you generalize regarding Hollywood denizens, attributing to all of them the acts of a few.  OTOH, Trumps bad actions are a known quantity....

De Niro's not Hollywood?

The actions of a few?  Perhaps.  But in that post I also included those who ''knew'' and said and did nothing.  If you recall, it turned out quite a few of them said they ''knew'', and wished they'd been more ''vocal''.  That didn't last long of course, they then turned their sleaze onto the rest of us, with them as the virtuous.  Are you really going to claim someone at the core of the Hollywood elite, as connected as De Niro is, ''didn't know''?

Face it, the scummy people of our country are almost all Democrats.  Criminals.  Welfare cheats.  Hollywood scumbags.  Occupy Wall St / BLM rioters and looters.  Lazy useless bureaucrats.  Teachers unions, educrats, and left wing professors intentionally mis-educating our kids.  ''Progressives'' out trying to destroy as much of the country as they can, as fast as they can.  People like Obama and his supporters poisoning our body politic and dividing us by turning every issue into a racial issue.

Let's just say it's no surprise Hollywood institutionalized the objectification and harassment of women, and that Robert De Niro has no problem cursing a president on national TV.

Oh wait, this is about smearing Trump isn't it.

Now it's getting real.

What, that in Hollywood you'd better virtue signal your hatred of Trump if you're going to avoid being shunned?  And the more obnoxious one is are about it, the higher standing one will achieve?

Aren't these the people who last heard from were all either harassing women, knew all about it, and kept quiet and went along with it - for decades - only to then turn and start lecturing the rest of us about it?

Hollywood isn't real, it's fake.  More so by the day

What does this even mean?...

You'll note I was using the same terminology Put used in questioning his claim

But to answer you question, people sometimes use terms as shorthand, rather than writing a paragraph explaining every nuance every time.  I think most people can usually figure out what is meant from context.

on the business end...

LOL

Lol.  What self respecting poster wouldn't want such a keepsake of their time spent here.

Almost every single thing that comes out of Heater's mouth is a poor imitation of a phrase I've heard Art use, and in the same cadence.  It sounds so contrived and fake (I don't get the people who just love listening to that, it's awful).

Anyway, when Art was on he knew just how to set the mood, how to present things, how to keep people up and listening instead of turning it off and going to sleep.  He sounded genuine, like listening to a friend, someone you knew.

I wonder if listening to his old shows now - after hearing Heater's phony imitation commentary - if they would in turn sound a little cheaper, a little more fake.  Is Hester sullying his legacy with her cheap knockoff shows, as opposed to simply making herself look foolish?

A man sees a sign outside a house:
'Talking Dog For Sale'....He rings the bell, the owner appears and tells him the dog can be viewed in the back garden.
The man sees a very nice looking Black Labrador Retriever sitting there.
"Do you really talk?" He asks the dog.
"Yes!" The Labrador replies.
After recovering from the shock of hearing the dog talk, he man asks, "So, tell me your story!"
The Labrador looks up and says, "Well, I discovered that I could talk when I was pretty young. I wanted to help the government, so I told the SAS.
"In no time at all they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders, because no one imagined that a dog would be eavesdropping.
I was one of their most valuable spies for eight years, But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't getting any younger so I decided to settle down. I signed up for a job at Heathrow to do some undercover security work, wandering near suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible dealings and was awarded several medals. I got married, had a few puppies, and now I've just retired!"
The man is amazed. He goes back into the house and asks the owner how much he wants for the dog.
"Ten quid!" The owner says.
"£10? But this dog is absolutely amazing! Why on earth are you selling him so cheaply?"
"Because he's a lying bastard. He's never been out of the garden!"

It's Obama isn't it?

I know that most Americans don't support Trump. Of the Americans I know well, 99% don't. And those who don't have almost all seen military service at one time or another...

So you know 100 Americans, and 1 of them supports Trump?  Or you know 200, and 2 support him?  300 and 3?  And just who is this (these?) rat fucker(s), daring to go against the grain?

Of those 100, 200, 300 or whatever the number is, almost all were in the military service?  Would that be 85 out of the 100, 90 out of the 100?  95?

Whatever the answers are, you have to admit these are very unusual statistics for the mid-size average American town you claim Sacto to be.  Makes me wonder how on earth Trump managed to get elected with half the vote of these same average Americans.

And those who don't have almost all seen military service at one time or another, one is a retired police chief in Stockton. I think I'm on pretty safe ground as far as your idle and idiotic threats are concerned..

Well, again, you live in a city populated by a bunch of bureaucrats and others who are employed providing goods and services for them.  Shocking in a state run like a banana republic, everyone in the capital professes obeisance to the ''progressive'' fascist party of big government.

Also, being an ex police chief is not as impressive as you think it is.  Most of them rose through the ranks playing politics, not out in the community policing it.  Their backgrounds are in records, HR, community liaison, spokesman, traffic control, parking, etc - these Democrat run cities aren't going to put a real policeman in charge of the department.  Which is why the police departments around the country are as poory run as the rest of the various city agencies.

Let me guess:  he's 48, retired, and pulling down $300k per year for life from his ''pension''?

... FAT FALKIE is a natural !
to become America’s ASS WIPE STICK king !...

In lieu of a donation - since he is no longer accepting them - I have a couple of suggestions for Falkie.

Since he is already set up to sell Art Bell t-shirts and coffee mugs, why not add a wipe stick line?  He could offer wipe sticks with plastic Art Bell heads as handles - a unique and useful collectable knickknack any Art Bell collector would cherish.  A sure conversation starter, and a growing need in the area of personal hygiene for our ever more obese society.

My suggestion would be that he expand the line to include George Noory and Heather Wad wipe stick handles as well, both as individual items and as a set - with the heads being interchangeable.

My second suggestion is he get creative and figure out a way to bring Kathie along free.  If he leaves her at hime, he's going to miss her.  He'll also never hear the end of it (''you went to Alien Con, and left me home'').  Without Kathie, his caregiver, Abram, his neighbors, his doctors, his social worker, etc, he's going to have to do everything for himself all weekend, and that's certainly to be avoided - he looked like he was about to die last time, and that was just crossing the street.

I suggest he put a collar on her, and declare her to be his support animal.   That gets her on the train, into the hotel, into any restaurant, and into Alien Con.  All at no charge.  You're welcome.

From what I recall from the 'Art of Talk' the rescue flight may have been during his time as a DJ in Alaska. It's more than likely that he just raised money for it as part of a radio-telethon, but over they years it's been inflated into him personally flying a C-130 below radar level into Ho Chi Minh City.

I think the real question is what Art actually did while serving as an AF medic during the war. He was stationed in Okinawa, but there are times in old shows where he talks like he was actually in country (even claiming to have nightmares over the things he witnessed and turning down a chance to visit Vietnam decades later because of raw emotions). But in his book he never mentions having his boots on the ground in 'Nam.

If Art never got to Viet Nam and was stationed in Okinawa the whole time as a medic, he could still have seen waves of horrible injuries.  Enough to build 'raw emotions' and not want to ever travel there.

How dare you refer to Laura that way.  She's a life long bureaucrat at the DMV, where she spends her days thinking of ways for them to save us money.

How far is Falkie's hotel from the Con?

Will he be walking and crossing wide busy streets?

Will his room be available when the train pulls in, or will he be sitting in the lobby all day?

Is he going to keep a detailed list of expenditures?

How soon will he run out of cash and reach his credit limits?

Yorkie believes politicians except Trump are honest public servants doing their best, and the main stream media evenhandedly simply reports events and information.

He's from England, where they've proudly handed control of their 2000 year old capital city over to poor illiterate immigrants who hate them.

We should all take what he has to say very very seriously.

I hope he remembers to pack his wipe stick !

suppose someone has invented a combo wipe stick and cane ?

Falkie has suggested and helped invent many useful items for various companies over the years, although somehow not receiving a penny for his contributions.

I wonder if, while he's away, ''neighbors'' stopping by would be able to acquire various books, toys, and other items from Kathie - for a donation?

If it ends up not working out for her, she can always open up the Art Bell Wax Museum

Heather is so much better in her previous shows since she came back where she listens much more, and talks much less IMO.  And with nothing but cat ladies, and rock people from her friends list are calling in, I think it might be better if Heather just has guests, and stops taking calls all together.

It's just creepy and awful hearing hear use the same phrases and cadence as Art.  She's clearly spent thousands of hours into memorizing it, but it's never going to be any good because it's not genuine.

13 hours is an awfully long time, I assume he'll be plunging the toilet at some point?

Or they are the only ones listening

If Heather has to change the show name again, she could go with her "conductor will punch your ticket" theme and call it:
Take a ride on "Heather's Midnight Train"

Knowing Heather, she'll change it back to Midnight in the Desert

Sounds like Heather hints there may be a behind the scenes fight over the show's new name "The Kingdom of Nye"

Art has professional relationships with Keith and Karen for decades, Heather shows up a few years ago and lays claim to everything?  How does that work?

Something tells me Karen will be more forceful than Keith, if that's possible
