Technology / Free Text Recovery

Is there a free text recovery for ZTE android (not Apple) phones?  It wasn't recognized by MobiKin or Dr. Phone.  Can it go back 60 days?

Politics / Immigrant Round-Up Fraud
August 09, 2019, 12:24:42 AM
Unless the human resource personnel who hired illegal immigrants are arrested too, then this whole round-up is a fraud.  The people who needed the jobs needed jobs.  But HR managers had no excuse.

Technology / Tech Dead Zone
July 29, 2019, 06:17:00 PM
What can I do when Verizon mobile net has no "bars" and won't work in a dead zone, even with roaming on?  It lets me get search results once or twice and then conks out.

Only one wifi is available and I have no access to the password.  Anyway around that?  I would even consider purchasing a data card or something (cheap) but nothing seems to work.  Most of the time.  Other times, it works just fine.

Also, I need to clear space on my Tracfone $40 smart phone, but I don't see any option to dump data out, except by selecting multiple pieces manually...  I can delete images, but I'm not sure I can delete cookies and history...  Any tips?

We all use the Internet, we all use our gadget.  But not everyone has the time to become a techie.  I've taken classes; I do try.

Technology / The Byline of The Technology Thread
July 27, 2019, 02:09:10 PM
What does the thread byline, have to do with this thread?  I like the standard computer keyboards acting as musical instruments & I wouldn't mind having one... A lot...  But, what is the point of this byline?  A quick perusal of the video channel (Adultswim) quickly leads into Satanism.  And most people in BG are not Satanists.  So... ??

How many men, women, and children have to die before this gas line explosion trend will be snuffed out?  Imagine the life insurance policies that are being paid out and that's not fair to insurance companies.  Walmart took out life insurance on their employees, probably at a tremendous group rate.  Maybe they will increase the limits on the policies of employees who live on gas lines, lol.

Is that, like, being given an order?  Do I have to?

Random Topics / Sex Hormone B G
June 22, 2019, 07:51:38 PM
SHBG is an important sex hormone that transports sex hormones throughout the blood.  SHBG is not Sex Hormone Bell Gab, it is Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (known as SHBG).  While it doesn't get much media attention, it's very important for people's love life.  You want to have enough of it.  Too much, however, is not good, either.  But, you need enough.

The liver makes most of our Sex Hormone.  If your liver is always digesting protein, it won't have enough time to make Sex Hormone.  So, in our quests for slimmer builds, we need to be careful about going overboard with excess lean protein.  It's easy to grab a protein bar or chicken wing instead of potato chips or fruit.  It even feels like the right thing to do.  But, better to have the chips or fruit, instead of eating more protein than you need.

Some nutritionists are a saying to eat half your body weight in grams of protein.  But, they seems to have forgotten that the calculation is ALL metric.  "Grams" of protein and "Kilograms" of weight.  So, it doesn't not translate to "pounds" at all.  One nutritionist told me to eat an obscene number of grams of protein daily.  I told her she was wrong, but she insisted.  She said it had to be half your body weight.  But, she was mixing "grams" with "pounds", which is totally different than what the calculation should be.  A kilograms is about two pounds, so she was way off.  Most people should eat 35-55 grams of protein a day.  Any more than that could be hard on your liver (reducing longevity), and too much can lower your Sex Hormone below the required amount.

Sex Hormone can be increased by avoiding too much protein, but also by including the following items to your daily diet:  Coffee, tea, olive oil, cruciferous veggies (broccoli, cabbage, caulifower), walnuts, soy and almonds.

It's a complicated hormone with many roles, so I don't understand all of it.  And having too much is not good, either.  But, you want to have enough!  A doctor can arrange a quick blood test to be sent to a lab to check your level.  Estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone get all the press, but Sex Hormone is just as important.

https://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-deputy-shot-alhambra-20190610-story.html

Below is the photo of the suspect who shot an off-duty deputy in the back of the head in the line at Jack in the Box in Alhambra, CA around 5PM Saturday 6/9/19.  The officer is in critical condition.  I wonder, would it have been legal for a bystander to shoot the shooter?

They say his license plates were paper.  But trip permits can be traced.

Anyhow, these photos are very good.  Somebody knows this person.  I wonder if the burgandy shirt he's wearing is his work shirt, since a lot of places use burgandy for work uniforms.

Everything is "multi-national".  Some thing should NOT be sold.  Like job and property with nat'l resources.  Our country is owned by a bunch of foreigners.  The article below is interesting, although I don't agree with every detail.

Most of us have compassion for others, and for animals.  When an animal is shown being abused online, the abuse is usually illegal and putting it on the Internet could be illegal.  Investigating abuse shown on the Internet can lead to arrests of people who abused an animal(s).  Animal abuse is usually illegal, and displaying it on the Internet can be illegal.

The American Human Society at https://www.americanhumane.org/fact-sheet/reporting-internet-animal-abuse/ says to go to http://www.ic3.gov/ to report Internet animal cruelty.  The website looks like it's for financial fraud, but they are the place to go for Internet animal abuse.  Give the URL and details.  They take reports from outside the US, if the abuse is inside the US.  Reports are routed to the right jurisdiction(s), from local to federal.  Not all reports are necessary investigated.

Do a search on the image to determine the original source because the original source is closer to the abuse than viewers who just copy images and re-send.  Report any abuse you want to, but I think it's best if you can provide the URL of the original image because the OP (original poster) is closer to the crime than viewers who just re-send the image.

https://mindtrails.virginia.edu/?utm_source=online%20forum&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=NAMI%20anxiety%20forum&utm_content=NAMI%20anxiety%20forum

I heard about this when I was looking for information about Munchaussen's by Proxy Disease.  Anyhow, a user-friendly, upbeat organization is remotely studying (and promoting) the effects of self-talk on generalized anxiety.  They need volunteers to independently answer questions online, sometimes after reading small paragraphs.  They provide a few $5 gift cards for some completed modules.  You give about an hour every 10 days for about 5 sessions.  It's fun.

I'm getting one or two short e-mails a week so far.  They call them bonuses.  They are very informative, with few screens.  I suppose the anxiety researchers get funding from these things, but they don't really look like ads unless you choose to order more info or sign up for non-affiliated classes on the last page .

More info for those who like to read:
The work is scheduled basically whenever you want to do it and takes about an hour once every ten days, for about 5 weeks.  The readings and answers are straight forward with immediate feedback.  Out of maybe 50 quick questions, I only felt confused by the intended meaning of two words, which really didn't matter in the overall scheme of things.  However, just so you know, when they use the word "funny" in the first module, as in "something feels funny", they mean funny=silly, not funny=peculiar.  So I got that one wrong.  But, the gift cards come regardless of your scores, so what the hay.

I think the questions might be oriented to younger people (like people without serious health conditions).  Like one of the questions had to do with noticing your heart beating differently.  An older person who has been previously hospitalized for a heart condition definitely would answer that question differently than a person just suffering from anxiety, but the test didn't filter out people with medical conditions, so not sure what they expect there.  I decided to answer the questions from the standpoint of anxiety, not health conditions.  There are opportunities to give feedback about the questions & program designs.  And best to do the modules when not distracted by radio or anything - multi-tasking doesn't go so well with this because you are asked to imagine things vividly.

Also, the test asks questions that I'm not sure are framed right, like the question about whether you choose to avoid certain activities because of your anxiety.  I know a lot of people who don't take freeways if a better option is available, especially on really hot days when traffic might back up for hours with no shade.  So, to me, that avoidance is not anxiety-related, but more medical or personal choice.  But to a person with a different outlook, they might think their own anxiety is the reason, even if the reasons are the same.  It really doesn't affect your participation, however you choose to answer those ones.

Much of the time, you will be asked to answer a question from the perspective of someone else.  Like, if you read a couple sentences about someone who does not like rye bread, then when the test asks if you enjoyed rye bread, the answer would be no.  Regardless of how you really like rye bread.  It's more of a reading comprehension test - but the sentences are small and the answers are fast.  I suspect that part is measuring the effect of anxiety on reading comprehension, or just promoting their ideals.

Anyhow, it's been entertaining so far and it's fast, easy work for a few $5 Target/Walmart/Whatever cards (you can choose).  Got my first card after just a short time!  In the time you read this, you would be done with a module.

Politics / Abortion
May 17, 2019, 11:19:34 PM
Alabama won't allow abortion in cases of incest or rape.  And Missouri is following along.

So, if a girl is raped, Alabama has forced her to be:

-Public about the rape/pregnancy.  Many women do not want people to know they were raped.  An 198-year old living with her parents might not want to tell them about the rape, but then they will assume she was promiscuous & she could lose their respect and housing.

-The one who is responsible for the child birthing fees, often in the thousands.

-Victimized for 18 years of being connected to the criminal for child support

-Victimized for 9 months of morning sickness & overweight on her joints

-Probably loses her job

-Is traumatized by childbirth pains

-Is traumatized by having to decide whether or not to adopt out a baby AFTER her hormonal body has bonded her with it, not before
Faced with residual childhood healthcare issues if the rapist caused Fetal Alcohol or Drug Syndrome or had diseases that passed to the baby.

-Lacking clothing, for the pregnancy and for the ensuing permanently wider hip structure

-Risking her sexual health, as any pregnancy can result in many complications, including serious, irreparable prolapse (blockage of the vagina by a fallen uterus or other organ.)

Happy Mother's Day.  Have an easy, fast, natural refreshing facial  masque a couple times this week to get rid of winter bumps and dryness and just feel better.  Your skin is constantly filtering out impurities from your body.  A little boost of a natural facial actually goes a long way toward assisting your body's largest organ.

Moisturizing and Smoothing Honey Masque
Ingredients:  1/8 cup (2 Tbsp) honey
Time:  20 minutes
Directions:  Open your pores by putting a very warm, thick, wet cloth over your face a couple times.  Dry your face so the honey won't run.  Fanning it dry is a great way to feel good.  Spread the honey over your whole face - no need to skip the eyes, nose or mouth because honey is harmless.  Let it set for 10-20 minutes.  Re-apply fresh honey to any spots that dry out too soon.  It's okay if the masque does not dry.  Set a cool, wet, thick cloth over your face to loosen the honey at the end.  Rinse it and then gently use it to remove the honey.

Honey works as an equivalent to glycolic acid, hyaluranic acid and alpha-hydroxy acid.  Yet it is gentle and soothing, a true humectant.  Your skin should feel relaxed when you are finished, so there usually is no need to moisturize for a while.

Purifying and Toning Oatmeal Masque
Ingredients:  1 or 2 Tablespoons oatmeal and water, a smear of avocado or a dash of olive oil optional
Time:  8 minutes
Directions:  Open your pores as above, with a very warm, thick, wet cloth.  No need to dry.  Mix the oatmeal and water into a thick slurry.  If you have dry skin, first smear your an avocado peel or a dash of olive oil over your wet skin.  Apply the oatmeal to your face.  It is safe for eyes, nose and mouth but might annoy the eyelashes.  Let it set for about 8 minutes or until dry.  Fanning it dry is nice, too.  Gently rinse your face with cold water and apply moisturizer if needed.

Oatmeal tightens the look of pores and can cure skin of small problem areas, like rashes.  It is a little drying.  When it is this close to your face, you might notice it has a slight floral fragrance which usually goes unnoticed.

Oat Bath
Put a couple tablespoons of raw oats into a waterproof sachet or half of a nylon with a hole in it.  Knot it.  Let it set in your very warm bath.  Gently squeeze the "milk" out of it.  Oats have saponins, which are natural skin cleansers, and it can prevent your skin from springtime itching.  No need to rinse, and the tub will remain clean throughout.

Summing it Up
I hope this helps us breathe deeply, relax, and feel better.  If this message reaches one person, then it was worth it   ;)!  Happy Mother's Day!

Random Topics / Insurance Companies and End of Life
February 03, 2019, 03:09:31 AM
The law says assisted suicide is illegal here, but Big Pharma administers old people gabapentin for pain and it has suicidal side effects.  Then they get you to sign an advance directive which is basically a let-me-die order.

Then they start pumping morphine into you and it weakens you.  Meanwhile, your gabapentin is stopped and your suicidal feelings lift.  You ask for food but none is given (only Jello, for "comfort").  You ask for orange juice, but none is given because it's not in the plan.  You start to do your physical therapy exercises, but you had a stroke and speech is difficult for you.  Communication suffers because no one is trained to ask you simple yes-or-no questions and wait the several moments it takes for you to nod or shake your head.  Someone notices signs of life in you, like your wanting to eat and do your physical therapy, so they makes requests for you.  The request is denied because you signed that you wanted to die.  You weaken from lack of nutrition and too much morphine.  Someone who thinks they are helpful administers too much morphine before it's really time.  No one cares about it.  You die.

So, we don't have assisted suicide.  But, we have covert murder???  Insurance companies benefit from early deaths.  Is it our country's paradigm to get people on gabapentin to sign suicidal orders and then just start a death process?

Lots of mixed feelings this week.  This isn't how it's supposed to be.
1.   Gabapentin should be prohibited within a month of signing an advanced directive to die.
2.   When a patient has a stroke but no fatal condition, and wants to die, counseling should be mandatory.  The stroke loss of an arm or side of the body is a serious loss and counseling should be mandatory before end-of-life legal processes begin.
3.   When a hospice patient asks for food or orange juice, there should be a law that they get those items.  Dying or not.
4.   When a hospice patient suddenly begins doing their physical therapy (and not just to stop "bed-ache"), there should be a law that this indicates a willingness to live and so the advanced directive should need to be re-visited.
5.   When morphine is given to a hospice patient, strict supervision should occur, because some helpers over-do it to hasten death, especially if they have heard that the patient wants to die.  The syringes are counted, but the remainder in the bottles is not.  A rogue helper could fill empty syringes to give multiple doses in misguided attempt to be helpful.  Maybe the insurance companies expect them to - that could be why the remainder in bottles is not documented.
