I wish they would relax the laws around marijuana, at least in order to allow scientists to study the benefits and/or dangers of it.

Damn.  Looks like Bellgab is devolving again already

Yes. In all my years here I have never had to use the ignore function. But when people post porn and try and pass it off as something else I have to as I often read the board at work. Plus I don't want to see that stuff anyway. It's gross.

In other, happier news I started last night's show and I really like the guest.

You're welcome.

Yes, hugs again for the assistance.

The last few days around here = "sewergab". Makes a gal not want to come around often. Of course there is this little thing called "life" that comes a-knocking. Yesterday I visited with a patient who was in a particularly great mood. Then, to top off the day, my ASD kiddo received a very special honor at his school's award ceremony.  A beautiful plaque. I'm still crying.   :'(

Yes I think real life is a great idea. Congrats to your kiddo. I'm getting to the point where I might take a break from here too again. We'll see what happens the next few days.

I mean, since the mourning of Art is officially over.  ::)
I'm sort of at the point where I'd rather visit GLP. LOL That's saying something. ;)

The board has swung back into full on vulgar mode. It does that sometimes and that is about when I take a break. I am all for freedom of speech as I have said but I am not getting in trouble at work because someone decided to post porn. It's not worth it.

Likely one of two people. One is on ignore, and the other isn't far behind.

By the by, isn't that when Liberace is supposed to step in and start banning people?

No one is asking you to except anything. However you are apparently demanding your "norms" be excepted as the high and mighty standard by which all else is judged.

OMG...I am laughing so hard I can barely type. It seems your logic, comprehension and thought process is up to the same depth and standard of your proficiency of the English language and spelling:

except = not including, other than
accept = receive with approval or favor

QuoteSorry the world isn't up to your ideal standards. Most of us have to live within the real world, and how it actually works. Which gives a framework of understanding and empathy, from which to work within. So as to enact meaningful change within ourselves, and other cultures. Without all the high and mighty harsh judgments. As apposed to imagined ideals decreed from upon high, that must be conformed to, else be castigated as lowly unworthy as a culture. Even though you've never even bothered to try to understand other cultures perspectives, much less encourage positive outcomes for those who are "less than" yourself. Otherwise you wouldn't stubbornly cling to such narrow & simplistic views of the world around you.

Understanding and empathy for inhumane cultural norms, belief systems, practices/rituals, ignorance is one thing; acceptance of the perpetuation of these, is quite another. So I guess it's ok for you to make a harsh judgement and assumption of  what you think I think...LMAO..... No high and mighty judgements here at BellGab.
...... hypocrite much?

QuoteYou also seem misguided believing love must be composed of one thing or feeling for all people. Which of course is your ideal of what love is, else it isn't TRUE worthy love. An ideal which is the only standard by which the whole world must be judged. Else it is less than or not real. No two loves are the same for an individual, much less the endless trillions of combinations of potential loves. How lonely you must be in a sea of humanity. Without this basic grasp of how empathy & love works, with it's potential boundless infinities.

Now you move the goal post away from Irene being able to love Art. Making it about what Art possibility did to Irene. As if the two things are the same. You can't even follow your own train of thought without derailing it. Most likely Arts biggest expectation from love, only extended to how it satiated his hedonistic personality at moment. Which would make it easier going from one person to another as the need suits. Much the same way others use a spoon, fork, or chopsticks without a great deal of compunction.

Welcome to the boomers modern throwaway society. Which some people seem to believe is the cultural apogee, by which all other cultures are measured.

[attachment=1,msg1227874]

Desire for benefit and/or self gratification is not love, although one could put it in the bucket of "love of oneself and one's perceived needs".

They are claiming it's not porn but it totally is and if someone walked by and saw it on my screen I would very much get into trouble for viewing it. My job and most don't fuck around with viewing porn on the network.

LOL I saw something like that a week or two ago, in this same thread. The “frosting”.   ::)
It was gross, to say the least. I’m no prude, but I quickly scrolled by.

I'm no prude either but I'm pretty sure my employer wouldn't think it was "frosting".

Apparently Liberace is more “free” with the rules than MV was. :P
