There was a public site called PinkBook in which the female handles could post but the male handles could not.  The conversations there as related to clients tended to be generalized with few names mentioned.  Part of this was out of concern about affecting business, but also there was no need.  There was a hidden site called BlackBook where the girls could post information freely about dangerous or abusive persons.  As an insider, I was one of the few males that had access to it.  Senda's name ended up there, though I have forgotten what for, specifically.  Probably stalking and being a goddamn leech.  The content of that board was illuminating, shocking, and sometimes heartbreaking.

It's kind of a glimpse into what made the earlier days of the internet "great."  It really did have a different feel than most of the new net.  (Granted, perhaps I like BG because it still has that nostalgic feel?)

There was both. The review section was a money making part. You had to submit a review for a limited time membership or you could pay monthly. It was separate from the board really. I paid a months fee a few times just to read it and the handles were all different. Granted a lot of guys use one handle for reviews and one for the  board.
The other source of income was the ads. Girls could advertise for free but they got buried by others fast, paid ads stayed on top.

Girls were not allowed to advertise on the board. And it really was a general type of board that was just more risque. If you wanted to talk about the fight last night there was a spot for it, if you wanted to discuss your favorite lube there was a spot or that. At best the girls could put a link in their profile to their ad. If a girl was interesting you might click her name and look at her profile. so the girls that did post had something to say other than I will blankity blank your butt.

There was also a section called PinkBook. Guys could read some of it but only girls could see it all and post there. (When you register you had to pick a gender and gals had hearts by their names, they were also called hearts at times). Some guys registered a female handle so they could be a heart and see it all. I found the small amount I could read to be dull.

The girls did not review the guys but there was a bad client list. When they did reference checks on guys there really were only a few things they want to know. Is he a cop, does he push boundaries, is he hygienic, did he pay with no issues. Things like that. The hygiene issue was a big deal. Some guys actually left skid marks on the bed, AFTER they showered.
