Quote from: Laser on December 19, 2022, 12:05:51 AMTwo shows in a row. Hoagland is on a roll!
Actually last Sat night was a replay due to Hoagie's old furnace failing during a cold spell.
He did manage to get on the air with a live show Sun night, so he is around 50% now.

Quote from: albrecht on November 12, 2022, 05:30:13 PMDriving home last night I sorta 'came too' and asked myself 'wtf is this broad babbling about?' I wasn't really paying attention but put on the AM and Connie Willis was on with some dude who remote views but also 'died five times.' But the limited part of the show I heard they were babbling and giggling about youtubes and something to do with Gilligan's Island and other tv theme songs that he son does in a capella. Or something bizarre and nonsensical. I didn't stick for open lines because I'm sure they would've sucked even worse.
There was no open lines - Connie often prefers to get the guest to stay over longer thru the whole show, skipping open lines and might at most take a few calls near the end for the guest. She asked the remote viewer guest to stay on to the end of the show and he replied he had nothing better to do!
At least that spares us from the regular Friday sad-pack like Cornelius, etc.

Quote from: albrecht on November 06, 2022, 03:02:58 PMWas G2G any good this year? Or not worth even a download when wasting time? Norry usually has screwed it up in recent years and doesn't even have a full show with callers but throws on a guest or a replay even. Art had good G2G shows. Sometime multiple days with good stories and callers.
Noory's G2G is less than 2 hours due to having a guest for the first 2 hours, and even has guest spots, so its not worth it. The caller stories were boring too.

Noory screwed up and shrank the annual new year's eve show too, cutting the caller predictions part to under 2 hours for that too. Art used to do caller predictions for the whole week after Christmas to New Years in comparison and got hundreds of recorded predictions.  Noory gets maybe 10-15 now and they are terrible non-specific stuff that Art would have never allowed. :o

Interestingly New Year's Eve is on a Saturday this year so it may be one of the guest hosts like Connie Willis hosting the New Year's eve prediction show this year!
Noory says he will host Sunday New Year's Day since its his regular first Sunday of the month spot and has on prediction guests like astrologers, etc.

Thanks for those old Area 2000 show recordings!
I had heard of that show only when Linda Howe and George Knapp referred to it at times.
Indeed it was a year or two before Art's Dreamland Sunday night show and it followed a similar format.
I didn't know about Art Bell until after 1994 I believe, so I missed those shows.

Listening to some of the 1993 Area 2000 shows it appears George Knapp and Linda Howe are regulars who give reports during the first half hour, then the night's main guest appears for the rest of the 2 hour show.
The later "Dreamland" show was a little longer at 3 hours and also featured Linda Howe's reports and taped interviews for the first hour or so.

The fading of the radio recording reminds me of back then in the mid 1990s listening on AM stations that weren't local for Art's shows.  I eventually bought the big CC Radio that was able to pull in distant AM stations better. So much better nowadays with clean streaming audio!

Quote from: albrecht on October 16, 2022, 06:38:52 PMJim open-lines caller wondering if Ted Williams head, when reattached, would he have a soul? Or be sort of like the alien grays like the earlier guest was claiming, soulless AI automatons. And speculation from Syrett if he would still bat .400. And Jim commented that they would likely reattach him to a teenage body but 'wasn't sure how they do that' but he would have the knowledge but didn't know. Syrett loved it. Syrett has good open lines. He shut down Walt by using his own line "with all due respect." I like also that Syrett pushes back on callers- but politely, being a Canadian. But unafraid to say his personal views. Dave always hems and haws and mumbles and agrees with whatever the guests or callers say. "That's true!"  Ian, though some kind of deacon, always goes to 'true crime,' porn, drinking, and sort of ecumenical, anything-goes stuff. But will fight against simple people who bring up Bible stuff.  Caller claims Abos in Australian can 'jump through time' and 'live in the desert' and have 'telepathy like Sasquatch!' "Humans have to evolve"
Yeah that was fun hearing old Walt the skeptic get the tables turned on him. :)

The Ted Williams frozen head discussion was strange. They seemed to think the plan was in the far future to defrost the 90+ year old head and reattach it to a cloned teenage body with the new head cut off? In reality I think that isn't the real plan, nobody would want their very old head with a young body even if they could reattach that old thing.  Maybe a brain transplant but wouldn't want a 90+ year old brain either. On other shows I heard the real idea is to somehow "download" the memories from the frozen brain and then "upload" those memories to a new cloned body with a new young head/brain.  But there is no proof that any memories are still intact in that frozen head/brain after centuries or that memories could ever be transferred even from a living brain.  I think what will really happen is in the far future people would just laugh about the idea of using one of those ancient frozen heads!

All of this reminds me of old Star Trek episodes. Like "Spock's Brain" where they did a brain transplant and the STNG episode where an old scientist downloaded his brain's memories/personality to the android Data.

Quote from: albrecht on October 07, 2022, 01:08:42 PMQuayle was on last night. Dave had to caution him, again, when he breathlessly began to describe giants raping women and the logistics and possible initial consequences of the act. We also got "in real time statuiaries of alien species" "intelligence community feeding Steven Spielberg*" "Vatican is up to the eye-balls in secret deals."

* note that name is interesting.
Steve Quayle is a fast talker and at least keeps Noory quiet for long periods.

Quote from: albrecht on October 04, 2022, 11:41:01 AMDave frequently says that C2C "doesn't do politics." And last night guest was....wait for it....Dick Morris! No politics were discussed, I'm sure. He probably was on to talk about the shadow people in the White House and his UFO experiences.
Norway even pushed Dick Morris to get Donald Trump himself to be a guest on c2cam.  He thought Trump would love to interact with the callers.  Imagine the sad pack regulars including Cornelius, Mike the Millenial, Thomas in La Jolla, Walt the skeptic - all calling in for Trump!

Quote from: Walks_At_Night on September 20, 2022, 06:01:03 PMIs that dude still alive?  Last I remember, he left Asheville for Puerto Rico. I figured his lifespan there would be about six weeks tops before he pissed someone off enough to have his throat slit and body dumped in the rain forest.
Yeah, he was just on with Noory last week.  I think he said he now lives in Vegas.

Quote from: albrecht on September 03, 2022, 11:10:22 AM"Ask Jorch" segments are horrible. Even worse than the hated open lines with the sad pack. But now Norry hates open lines so much that he has reverted to an "ask Jorch" where people text TOMMEE and then TOMMEE reads them to Dave. Weather questions. Same old Dave stories.
What we learn from the "Ask Jorch" segments is Noory has no life outside the radio show.
When asked about what hobbies he has, Noory replies none except the radio show.
When asked what in his closet he rarely uses - its a suit.

Dames talked about remote viewing years ago a "dirty bomb" terrorist attack on New York City, but that never materialized.
He also commented on China taking over Taiwan and Russia taking over most of Ukraine in the near future.
Oddly, years ago Dames claimed his remote viewing showed Ukraine would be one of the few "safe zones" in the future...

Ed Dames last night predicted the upcoming Nov 2022 midterm elections will be canceled due to Martial Law being declared.  Another test of his remote viewing then coming up in only a few months...

Quote from: albrecht on August 22, 2022, 03:03:10 PMRCH actually had shows. But whatever wacky expert he was going to be on the show Saturday bailed and unable to be contacted so RCH says we will be doing open lines all night. In RCH tradition the show started with internal talking. Then intro played. Then it was RCH echoing himself with someone in the back everyso yelling 'dammit' 'nothing works' and the echoing kept on until around 7 minutes. RCH also mentioned that was trying to get MyPillow guy to sponsor but he never did. But now that RCH knows his  political views he probably would've send 'no.' (Yeah, right!)
RCH apparently had a show on Sunday also. That is two nights in a row! That has happened in a long time by my recollection.
Yeah Hoagie never even called his Sat guest back to confirm the day before or earlier the same day.  He only talked to him on the phone overseas a week before when Hoagie said he had a migraine so had to cancel the show and rescheduled for this weekend - but the guest mixed up the date.  Why not give guests a reminder call or email/message like I get for a doctor appt the day before or something?

Without a guest on Sat night, Hoagie took some open lines for a couple hours but ended up getting into his ultra-liberal left wing rants.  In the last hour at least Robert Morningsky called in kinda as a substitute guest and with his more right wing views helped balance it out. The only thing Robert claimed Trump didn't do right was his failure to release all the classified JFK documents.

Hoagie rarely gets 2 live shows per weekend now, since his area is often getting wind storms knocking out his internet or power, or else he gets one of his migraines or similar.

Remember a classic Art Bell guest in the late 90s, Jonathan Reed?
He was the one that told a tale of an encounter with a craft and a strange being while out in the woods with his dog.

He claimed he killed the being and stored it in a freezer in his garage.
Well Reed is back...  tonight with Jimmy Church!

Quote from: albrecht on August 15, 2022, 10:48:34 AMYeah. That guy was annoying but at times Art needed a foil and he was always there to defend the Clintons or whatever.
Another regular caller to Art in the 90s was Doc Democrat.

Most of the callers last night sounded like they were claiming to have ancestors that were all royalty, Dukes and Princesses thruout Europe.
My ancestors were all dirt poor commoners in comparison.  I suspect thats the case for most folks, but not according to most of last night's callers!

Syrett lets Cornelius call in during open lines too, even though all he does is talk about himself - telling about his bout with covid and his youtube video appearances.

Last night Noory also told a tale about his little 3 year old great-grandaughter.
He was amazed when he saw here licking on a popsicle treat and then she offered to share it with another little girl.
He wondered what little girl would ever do that?
So he figures she must be very special, probably because she inherited some generosity gene from Noory...  :o

Quote from: albrecht on August 08, 2022, 03:38:09 PMwouldn't he be Dexter Monterrey in that year or time-line? I forget when that singularity happens. Talk about end times.
I think Dexter is Noory's future incarnation centuries in the future, according to Dentist Bruce Goldberg anyway...

If Noory really wanted to ask a good Jetsons trivia question he should ask what year George Jetson was born.
The tv show is set in the year 2062 and George is 40 years old there...

Quote from: Rix Gins on August 07, 2022, 02:33:47 PMI listened for a few minutes after a long commercial break.  No paying advertisers, just spiels to interest people in joining the 9.5 club.  When Richard came back on, he wished everyone a happy Easter.  Obviously I was hearing a pre-recorded show.  Anyway, I hope your tree is OK.
Yeah that stream is only live during the live show on Sat/Sun 9pm-12am Pacific Time.
At all other times the stream replays the first hour of random older shows.

Last night was a new live show, but tonight Hoagie has scheduled a replay from a week or so ago instead of a new live show.  He is lucky to get one live show each weekend, often at the last minute it gets cancelled due to bad weather conditions in his remote area or his power and internet connection is down, or maybe he has a headache...

Quote from: albrecht on August 06, 2022, 05:02:23 PMYes. In the rare night in which he is not beleaguered by storms, coughs, blackouts, tech problems, wildfires, internet fees, Skype issues, or illness the chair still BRAAPS sometimes. I miss the ringing phone. He needs to bring that disruption back- for old times sake.

ps:.he added some strangeness about mice manipulating things into geometric designs which was a sign from his deceased paramour, or something related to torsion and other side communications.
I've heard the ringing phone in the background on some of his weekend shows recently - so maybe somebody out there still has his phone number?

Yeah old Walt really has fallen hard for Connie, he also called into her when she guest-hosted last Friday night and again was hitting her with comments about her beauty, he even forgot to go after the guest with his arch-skeptic "with all due respect to your guest" shtick!
